Thanks Bill, I am sure enjoying this whole series. Along with documenting this history of racing I would sure love to hear a little about these guys personal cars and if they built a Hot Rod of there own and carried over what they learned at work. Some pictures and personal experiences from them would be great. Thanks again for putting this all together.
I'd literally give both my lil buddies between my legs to have the racing knowledge sitting at this table. Enjoyed the hell out of this video, appreciate yall!
Very, very interesting! I knew Waddell and Robert Yates worked at Holman and Moody but I didn't know how many others worked there. I'd like to see more videos on Holman and Moody and maybe include some stories about Robert Yates.
Poor Buren. He was doing pretty good for young guy just starting driver in The Big Time until accident. I always like the low funded local boy doing very well type teams. Not multi-million a year we got more money than we can spend teams. That one if not worst hits I ever seen. Plus right on driver side door too. I often wondered if anybody try take care of his young family after accident on money wise. 1 look at that accident car what was little left. If that didn't make you stop think study leave you speechless on just how serious these accidents can be. Then you are just cold hearted and have no feelings. This coming from Vol. Fire & Rescue guy 27+ years experience. I seen lot's bad accident's. I honestly cut boy out wreck car. We had hurry with him. We left before biggest part rescue squad even made it to accident. My pick up with lights going set side road for hours battery dead when I got back to it. He was in real bad shape. We throw boy in ambulance get boy hospital asap. Run. Ambulance crew wanted me go with them this was a real bad case They going be very busy in route. He appear died on route I even had little like 2 year old girl I holding her in my arms in back in route ambulance look at me. Big huge smile hit her face then We lost her I know she died right then in my arms. But we no Dr. We Could not make it legal. I honestly did not recognize that boy that evening until Dr. Told us he didn't make it. hospital nurses clean him up. I needed his name for our reports too walked into operation room with nurse to give me my paperwork. That last thing I remember. But under 3 hours earlier I was up his Mom & Dads house throwing Football around. We talking laughing joking around. I throwing Football with that boy. I remember Mommy told me he had a hot date that night a 16 year old boy. I told him take it easy in Mommies Brand New Grand Prix . Put 1 scratch on it mommy will kick your butt. Then I have come up bandage you back up..like a joke. We all just a laughing having good time. 3 hours later was no joke. I cut him out car & all did not even recognize him or the car. He & car was so torn up. Nurse @ hospital told me his name & gave me basic paperwork. I hit the floor. Passed out cold. Dr. Wanted me stay overnight. I talked him out of it. TRUE STORY.. Got home I was covered in blood. Had throw I know my T Shirt maybe even my pants away. Took years get that blood off my bunker gear. I stop apologised to family. I still can not bring myself stop at there house again yet. Never. True Story. These vehicle's can hurt you so easy . sorry talk so much. I saw Buren name & really they not that much information out there about him & his family. I often wonder about him & his family. Wreck like that hit my heart pretty bad. He had take a very hard hit.

What a great bunch of guys.
Luckily, I stumbled upon your channel. I'm in the process of watching all of your videos. They're great! I was wondering if you knew Buren Skeen.

@@Houndini Buren's family still lives in Denton NC. My father in law grew up with him. The family turned out just fine.
