I’ve honestly never felt more scared of a fictional character more than Hannibal. Anthony Hopkins you deserve many Oscar’s!!!! One of the best actors ever!!!
Those scenes are so palpable absolutely magnificent once in a lifetime performance by the great SIR Anthony a wonderful man 🙏🏼 and a stellar performance as usual by the equally charming devoted and enquiring Jodie foster who’s birthday is near mine and she feels like a sister almost 🤣😁 I TIRMLY believe there is relevance to that. He decided to have a little bit of fun with her and said in his Hannibal Lector voice “Good morning, Amanda.” Hopkins joked that he didn’t know people could jump that high or scream so loud.
In the later anniversary documenter they mentioned how Sir Hopkins and Ms Foster would go back and forth with lines him in the cell and her sitting one time they talked about how they’re acting and chemistry was so strong that Foster was the director couldn’t remember why she was crying and Hopkins still in his roll not braking character casually passes her a handkerchief

Seriously. The reality is that these are professionals and they don’t typically take offense to stiff when they’re working. It’s like the BS theory that playing the Joker destroyed Heath Ledger. Just not true at all.
Rarely has an actor been able to terrify an audience as Hopkins does in a brief time on screen. You feel like he's a poisonous snake from which you can't look away. Brilliant performance.
