  • This guy has talked smack about me in the past on his channel, where we have NO INTERACTION WHATSOEVER....so when I saw his interview on TileCoach a few months ago bragging on his 24k shower build ( YES, shower only ) I had been in the process of a REAL 25k job and I'm calling him out on his Bullshit bragging. There's NO WAY this standard subway tiled shower cost 24k END STOP !

    As a major contractor Im hoping the homeowner was chasing after that $4500 reframing of the floor as thats a $2000 job max...Bob, your tile install work is great but thats some ugly materials and belongs in a Vegas hotal from '88. Idf love to get those rates here but will never happen and Im the most expensive install in my area.

    It’s almost impossible to compare bathroom remodeling costs. I’m at $65k for mine, but it’s a complete relayout of the MBR including relocation of a wall, toilet, shower drain, sink supply and drains, electrical work with new boxes and sub panel. About 500 SF of tile, 100 SF hardwood flooring, two vanities, lights, mirrors, new toilet, medicine cabinet, digital shower valves for 6 zones, 3 zone ceiling shower head, overhead drop rain heads for a bench area, etc. Tile alone was $5500, shower plumbing plus fixtures around $7000. Too much variation in bathrooms (like kitchens) to make any valid comparisons. You need a lot more info to know if you are being taken to the cleaners or not.

      @stevog4422 Год назад

      @@Esiddik 'Cause nice stuff is really expensive (unfortunately). Shower heads alone (3) were $3800. Digital controllers, roughs, and trims added another $4500. This was just hardware (install labor not included). I could go on and on. 500 sqft tile was $5500, material only. Add another $10k for installation (I had 3 quotes: $8500, $10500, and $13000). And on and on...

    Why make things harder than need be. Could have simply rabbeted the back of the sill plate to accommodate the different height of the rim joist. table saw makes quick work of it😁
    I would have blocked the floor joists too on other side of bathroom for proper support.
    I have been a general contractor since 1993 and get 25k for tub to shower coversion. Its all about quality of work and excellent reputation! Never ever advertised!!! Clients are always happy and probably the only contractor that hasn't had to go back and fix a problem!!!!!! Simple, never make mistakes!!!
    I either do the work or watch over my subs like a hawk!!!🤣 Thats why I do the work myself!!🤣

    One of my favorite RUclips tile guys right here. If you see this comment, I mentioned before how I’d like to go on a live stream with you one day. I have been so busy with my tile business taking off since I last commented on your channel. 24 showers since this time last year. 14 walk in and ten tub surrounds 8 feet high of of the tubs. Plus quite a bit of floor tile.
    Anyway this job on this video that you did is beautiful and excellent quality. I’m hoping the $25,000 was just labor that you got paid. If not you gave them a smoking deal IMO.
    Edit, I just seen your breakdown of the pricing at the end and I definitely think you gave a super good deal. Just my opinion, you could charge way more because of the quality of your work. But at the end of the day if you can do even one project like that a month you still have a way better wage than over 90% of the population in the US.

With that said I can not for the life of me understand why you even care what someone else charges for their work or what they claim to charge. I see & hear guys all the time complaining about what other contractors charge. Makes no since to me why anyone one would care one way or the other. when you ask what looks like a $25k bathroom,i can honestly say NEITHER of them.nothing against you or anyone else at all.to me it looks like a $10k bathroom at the most!Maybe its because me and my wife would never pay that kind of change to get something like that done or that that i would to 3/4 of it myself.

    That guy from Hamilton Tile charges double because they're 2 installers. It seems to me one guy is responsible for advertising, bidding social media and the other guy is doing most of the labor. They work for 6 hours a day. So they charge double since they're 2 owners and they have a life balance between work and family.

      @@GleceanCox You can charge whatever you want as long as your customer is willing to pay. It's a free country, not a communist country. The guy is clearly a good sales person, most contractors suck at selling. You said this bathroom remodel was $800 a day? Fancy High-end remodeling businesses are bidding at around $3000k for labor a day per installer, $350 an hour. I know a ton of contractors who bid at $1500 a day. I know plumbing businesses charging $350 an hour, most charge $150. At the same time there are unlicensed and immigrants charging $45 an hour. There are all kinds of prices and quality. Well I think $100 to $150 an hour is fair though....$800-1200 a day. I charge around $800 a day and I live in Seattle one of the most expensive cities. I'm not good at selling like those guys.😥
