Congrats on the new toy Chef! I actually have one of these still in the box. Waiting on cooler weather to break it out. Now I can learn from you! Awesome!
Thank you brotha!
Thanks for sharing! I’m ordering mine today!😃
Have seen a few cooks using this, seems a nice product! Happy for you bud!
Mainly soups for me, but there may be some stuff I will put out there that will be crazy recipes. Thanks Lasse.
Gotta love them gadgets! Can’t wait to see what ya do with it!
Thanks bro. Cheers!
Kirby, I just picked one up yesterday at WM! Haven’t unboxed it yet so I enjoyed this video
Thanks bro!👍
Hey Dave, I hope you enjoy it. I am still learning mine. Not hard at all, it is really easy to use. I can't wait to make some chili beans in it.
I’ve had one for years, I guess version 1, same model. I use it all the time for soups, stews, beans, rice, you name it. I’ll be doing more now that the weather cooled down. That plastic cup will overflow at times otherwise I love it. You can pick up gaskets cheap on amazon, I’ve bought a few since they don’t last forever.
Can’t wait to see you cook on it Kirby!
Thank for the info Pickles, I will pick up a couple for back up. It seems sturdy but it is just plastic and involve heat, im sure there will be issues down the road. Thanks brotha!
Wow nice walk thru bud. Looking forward to seeing some of the good things one heard about with that machine.
Thanks brotha, definitely a good buy. I got some ideas coming out.
I’m sure you’re gonna cook some good grub in that pot ! Can’t wait to see what unique dish you come up with !
First is chili beans, after that I will have to get creative lol. Thanks brotha!
Hi just got the instant pot and need knowledge cause I’m fearful and to learn is confidence 🙂
Hi Kirby! That's my best friend right there. I also have the 8 quart and I love it, absolutely love it. And I think you will too.
Hi Stephanie, I used it already for a cook and I have to say it is so simple. It really takes the task out of somethings. I can't wait to get into more detailed cooks and try to make something delicious. Thank you Stephanie, I hope you have a great weekend.
Thank you Kirby great review I'm also looking for the same multi task kitchen gadget I will be purchasing one
Ada, the instant pot is a good device. I haven't put much out on it. But it is really good. I actually use it a lot for beans, soups and slow cooking meats. It is really a forget it and set it device. Makes things easy on a busy day. I hope you find the right one for you. Trust me, its good to have.
Great unboxing and review man,I have to get a pressure cooker Cheers again from Australia,
We had to resub in order to activate notifications now fixed
Thank you Wiseman Creek Studios.
I've got the IP 8L excellent product. I use it for potatoes, rice, soup, curry base for 'BiR curry' , 'pot in pot' cooking etc I store with lid inverted rather than fixed. I use the side handle to put lid in after cook. If cooking pasta, all the pasta must be covered by sauce. cheers ps using saute initially, or hot water speeds up warm up time.
Thanks for the tip Nigel, I used it last night. It did pretty darn good. Can't wait to try other stuff in it.
Congrats on the new cooker, Kirby. Looking forward to seeing your recipes and further review. Great details in this. Much appreciated.
Thank you Mona, I have some ideas in mind. Mostly for the hot summer months when I can't get outside. But definitely going to put in some soup recipes for the winter.
@@CookingwithKirby Looking forward to it.😊👍
*Good Work. Regards You.*
We'll get to this later...
How long can it keep the food warm after its cooked?
What is the différence between duo and duonova instant pot?
So good
Thank you Kartik.
Kirby this looks like a really neat product when you start using it or if you can look in the manual let me know if you can make chili in it. I have a rice cooker that can be used as a steamer and it works great so I had looked at this first before getting an air fryer and decided I needed the air fryer more. But I can't wait to see what you do with it👍👍👍
Chili and chili beans are on my list to cook on this. I do them different ways, so i will work on that soon. Thank you Mike
The plastic piece is to catch evaporated liquid. Not sure since I couldn't see it that well
Ya thats what it looks like, I didnt see much in it after using it. Just some drips. Thank you Lyle.
Glad I come across your channel and learn how my new 8Qt instant pot works. You have a beautiful name and wanna let u know that I have a vaccine cleaner and it’s brand name is Kirby. You might have heard about it. It is really amazing how it cleans the carpet.
Hehe, thats funny. My grandmother had a Kirby vacuum. The instant pot works pretty well. I use it mostly in slow cooker mode for recipes. I do use it more for cooking big roasts or meats to make something with it. Really a set it and forget it device and works perfectly everytime. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you and have a wonderful week.
For the steam
love me some rice!
Same here brotha, thank you.
I bought the Instant pot Duo but didn't get a Recipe book inside. I only got a metal rack and plastic drip cup besides the booklets.
Thats funny, Maybe just wjat they are doing now days.
Wife has one of these. Show her some recipes bro!!
Will do brotha, thank you Chad.
Black Friday Amazon is a good place for IP deals.
Lol I should have waited, didn't think about it. Spur of the moment type of buy.
Have you done fried chicken in there yet?
information starts around 1:00
Well, that was a secret, buying one!
One thing I found useful for those who are fearful of releasing pressure, is that the hole in the handle end of the included spoons is the perfect size to flip the valve.
Thanks for the tip, I actually used it on my next video. Thank you Mario, thats why I said not sure if wifey will allow some more toys lol.
how many lbs can you pressure cook at
Hi Maria, I have never really thought of it, as long as the meat fits in the pot should be fine. I have done a 6lb pork shoulder in it with no issues. When I pressure cook large roasts, I do not add much water, maybe 1 cup just to add moisture. I haven't had any issues with it. I think as long as you do not go past the Max fill line, you should be good.
Ohhhhhhhh why didn't you get the Ninja Foodie 🙀
I seen the Ninja Foodi right after I used the instant pot. Its ok, I will put this one to use for now.
how much did you pay for this
I paid about $120 on Amazon for the 8 qt.
Is it non stick
It will stick if not oiled.
That's ashame non stick technology should be standard ... but I do like to wash my pots immediately after use, as it cleans easily ... thanks for the reply, I hope all is well
I cleans up well, but say like chicken it will stick. but once you get all sides brown it will be ok
Thanks for the reply, thinking of getting it.
@@ffcuk63 unfortunately non stick coating is toxic and ends up leeching into your food. I picked this pressure cooker because it doesn’t have that, and is made with high quality stainless steel, which is one of the safest cooking materials.
Don't use it for canning it can blow open on you i have pics
"1 minute kieenoa"
Big disappointment they don't give you the measurements anymore inside the thing where as if you wanted to cook 2 cups of rice it tells you how much water to put in there it doesn't have that anymore
What i do is double the liquid. So 2 cups rice equals 4 cups liquid. Works everytime
Too many adds
