    Really great run that proves your point very well. It’s not about being faster, it’s about having more granularity and freedom in the way you want to move, although obviously being faster is a consequence of these changes

      Funnily enough it's the opposite for me. Being faster is the point and in order to be faster (in a complex environment) you need granularity/freedom to be able to think of and execute the fastest route, while the video being impressive and satisfying is a result of that. In the end though I guess I'm arguing semantics

    There is SO MUCH that goes into throughly explaining the proper use of these mods in a way that will actually get through to people and help them understand why grounding of these moves is so important.
    It's an uphill battle, but you're fighting the good fight. The community is lucky to have people like you who care enough to send the message.

    I understand the aesthetic of grounded gameplay, but I wouldnt mind ALSO seeing what kind of crazy movement you can do if you do abuse mod features.

    I can't do this mod justice like you can AD, I've tried it for a while and my god, there's so much more movesets and tweaks, it's like playing an entirely different game, I'll probably try the mod again after I fully mastered and understand the classic AC parkour and mechanics.

      Lol it’s a nightmare trying to remember all the combinations and moves you can pull off on mouse and key. I do think this mod is a very promising start though, just takes a while to learn.

    In terms of this kind of "platforms in space" level design, I think treating the mod as a purely technical toolset is much more reasonable because of how divorced the courses are from the historical context of the Assassin fantasy. I could of course see concerns about applying lessons learned into city gameplay. That being said, you came up with some really creative optimizations here, even bypassing the need for ejects entirely without creating momentum out of thin air

      @@icarusgaming6269 I'd absolutely agree, though the context of an Animus still exists to calibrate you with how your ancestor would've been, in order to get back into sync, still (imo) warranting grounded mod usage. The sadly already overgrown meta problem is that people unfairly judging and using the mod never made the difference either, meaning that any and all abuse in these stages would instantly be seen as acceptable in the city.
      Also thank you, really glad you enjoyed the optimizations i came across, it was surprisingly fun to figure it out

    Well, AC1 and AC2 is the starting point
    AC3 add animation for moving upward and down
    AC Unity, many climbing movements that used to be divided into two manual operations are automated and have corresponding animations
    Just when I thought they would continue to make their animation system better... There comes the AC Origin and ect...

    2:21 could you have used a super hop here to jump on top of the platform, avoiding the upcoming wallrun? (Making the whole "mod being faster" debate pointless in my eyes, of course mods can be faster if all I want to do is change jump distance values to ridiculous degrees, pressing one button to avoid 3 canceld wallrun optimisations...)

      I probably could've, but that'd classify as mod abuse as it pushes Ezio's jump range beyond what he's capable of reaching, which would indeed make mod usage pointless as you said

      @@marooned_k In cases where you're trying to force a foot landing onto features that should be able to support Ezio's feet for at least a short while, without breaking jump range. One of the examples is landing onto swinging poles with feet.

    Thanks for the showcase and in-depth explanation, I didn't catch your use of freeform until you mentioned it.
    This mod is amazing even on a more casual level since you can just set the amount of granular control into only what you plan on using. Also I personally made the auto swing activate only on R1 so that I could complete some of the secret locations with vanilla inputs.

    My only criticism is maybe have the text during the side-by-side comparison. appear for longer, as they seem to pass by too quick alongside the other text that appears, looking at the controller inputs and what each ezio is doing at the same time

      That's very fair, I felt it too, but it also started creating overlap of several texboxes and whatnot.
      I could've done a lot of slow motion/freeze framing to counteract that, but as I'm not home I sadly don't have my main rig (which makes editing less laggy) nor the time for all of that right now, sorry! :(

    My pc can handle even newer ac games but my accessories like mouse and keyboard are cheap and they prevent me from using this mod well (Can't press space+shift together) and many other keys 😢
    Are there is a way i can change the keybinds for some keys?

      Sadly, changing binds is absolute hell due to how CE handles hotkeys. It's not impossible theoretically, but it'd be a significant hassle :(

    Hey, I tried to install eaglepatch ac2 and the definitive parkour mod and when i would launch it would a white screen and i couldn't play the game. Do you have any fix for this?

    2:08, 2:14 horse flip isn't possible without a horse and Ezio isn't that fast.
    2:21, 2:33, 3:01 I think that roof swing is realistic as the arms are temporary insurance if the jumps go wrong Ezio doesn't hit his head.

      @@siegebug The self flip should be possible without horse entry momentum. The horse swing out indeed only makes sense with the momentum of a horse or a greater fall.
      Still, the wrap around the same beam should be grounded enough from a full speed Ezio sprint, if a horse swing-off is available from horse sprint speed.

      @@animusdrifter hey thank you for the super quick answer, I'm having a few problems with the passive swing, as most of the times when I want to go up a pole, Ezio jumps and tries to swing. Is there a way to override this during gameplay? I've watched the mod guide multiple times and tried some combinations but no luck. I like the passive and didn't want to deactivate it but it really kills the flow during runs sometimes...

      @@animusdrifter Actually I meant that I wanted ezio to jump directly on top of the pole with his feet, without hanging from it before. There are situations in which i think he should be doing that instead. Is there somewhere i can send you a clip because i've tried three times explaining it in words and I feel dumb

    This may be the wrong place to ask this question, but you talk a lot about the mod, and this happens to be the most convenient for me. So can I remap the keybinds for the moves on Keyboard+Mouse??

      I have a guide on the majority of its features, even if the entire point of this video was to show how modded features affected the run. The modded analysis is exactly that lol

      @@saurabhpathakYT It does a plethora of things, from unlocking behaviors previously thought impossible, to repurposing the extremely extensive and robust base of the system to extreme levels. As an example, that swing on the platform is entirely a modded feature, forced parkour down biases on prescriptive moves as well, as well as forced freeform moves and combinations of all of its modifiers, as well as a hundred other things. There's so much to it, and it all complements the already insane vanilla movement really well.
      To concretely learn what all it does, you can check out my guide, which covers most of what was there before recent updates, or the modpage linked in the description.

      @@saurabhpathakYT Ay, sure thing, though I'd recommend getting proficient and relatively accustomed to vanilla movement first, if you already haven't
      Things like ejects, button discipline, ledge grabs etc. should feel like somewhat comfortable concepts before the mod falls into place, imo

    I really don't get those people that complain about how others play in a single player game, or what mods they use.....

      The topic is so insanely complex and in depth that i don't even know where to begin.
      It boils down to the image of ac parkour and the mod in general being insanely prone to getting skewed and every last community effort to popularize it getting utterly destroyed or disfigured. Due to mod abuse, there's genuinely people who haven't seen classic AC movement before, who got to see a swing up (abusive/ungrounded usage) before they got to see a height gaining eject.
      People who end up in such situation will naturally proceed to believe that THAT is the way to solve the problem of their "slow and uncontrollable" Ezio, skewing the intention behind the mod as well, perceiving it as something that fixes issues that literally do not exist, instead of something that complements a parkour system that people have yet to learn about to begin with.
      This is but an example, I've seen far worse, I do this for a reason, and I won't stop.

      this is different tho.
      there are AC youtubers that upload modded parkour video without "Grounded" and dont even mention, so if anybody stumbles upon this video would get a wrong idea of how the classic parkour is superior in dealing with animation and momentum.

      all this mod does is for beginners is let you freely do a beamflip and allows vault.
      it lets you do tons of other things but if you are new it wont even matter or realuze the difference.
      ANd AC classic parkour even at vanilla is 10x better than any of the sequels in terms of precision and player expression
