From feral to friendly! ... kitten season is here, purrlease help spay and neuter community cats and get involved with fostering if you can, there's SO many kitties that need help!
Thank mew fur all you do, Chris. You're amazing. Fostering is so rewarding because you know you're helping to save lives. If someone can't foster, feeding stray and community cats and helping with TNR projects can give them the opportunity to save lives, too.
Good on you Chris for saving yet another life, & TNR-ing the rest of the kitty Crew! Aww! what a cutie kitten! He/she has no idea just how lucky they are!!! Amen to those sentiments Chris! I'm doing my part in my community. I care for MANY feral colonies, TNR'd 500+ at this point in time, & rescue & rehabilitate as many as possible.
It is so funny when they are that small and are hissy/spitty/stompy. Then they get some warmth and cuddles. It's like, never mind the past me, this is great.
My first experience with fostering a litter of kittens born feral… There was one boy who was absolutely Mr. hissy-spitty-pants to the point where I had to wear leather gloves for the first several days, but then he absolutely became the biggest purring lap kitten!! It’s like the ones who are the most scared at first become the ones who love you the most once they realize they are safe!
its quite the opposite your "human" view on this creature is nothing but, yes, "human" i would rather Support its natural behavior since it comes with an outstanding character. Which nothing "hissy" its very Sef Aware and Healthy.
Everything about this little one is so endearing. His spirit, his green eyes, white whiskers, little pink tongue, his teeny white teeth, those ears. I’m in love.
This reminds me so much of my little man, Storm! When I first caught him, he was all hisses and swats. But a few hours, and a few bottles, later he was all cuddles and purrs. He barely had his eyes open then and now he’s almost 10. I can’t imagine such a cuddlebug growing up feral and afraid of people! Or, not getting regular meals and treats. Just the thought makes me give him extra cuddles.
Glad lil kitty was found at a time where he was more easily malleable to trust good people like Chris to help! Still is surprising how a super scared and spicy kitty can turn into a calm and playful little bean 😺😸
Oooh myy such a gorgeous little tuxie boy! Someone is going to get a furbulous home soon I am sure. Thank you Chris for your rescue work and all the awareness around rescue and neutering etc. Take care everyone ❤
Aww, what a precious, dapper little gent he is in his tux! He's going to make someone a wonderful companion, now that he's realized how good it feels to be loved and cared for! 😍🥰
Oh my gosh I want him! His little ears! Melted my heart to see just how quick he went from being scared and hissy to being a cute little fluff ball of adorable fun.
This shows just how good Chris is, from feral to a bundle of sweetness in less then 24 hours. Sad that the siblings couldn't be saved but hopefully this little ones life will be filled with enough fun and comfort for his siblings as well.
"submit" thats how you valuate Cats, by degrees of passiveness? Oh my cat is Gooood its so friendly..(and boring..) Cats have differrent modes, this cat, if in its Terretory will still be stompy, since this is his fighting pattern, but when in a nest situation or obviously hungry and overpowered(caged) its "vocalizing"
@@KingCrimson82 I think "once you gain their trust" are the keywords in that comment for sure. All cats are precious and, oh-so-unique. It has taken my traumatized kitten more than 1.5 years to fully trust me and now, she's a loving, living angel.
I have a big gray boy just like this, I got him at a shelter when he was teenie, He turned out to be amazing, If he could speak it would sound like Sean Connery
Chris, I just want to tell tell you how much your big heart and generosity to care for these beautiful kitties touches me. It's unfortunately still a never ending cycle but you give so much to help those you can and it always brings tears to my eyes when I see another successful rescue.

My son and his girlfriend brought home a yearling cat from a nearby forest. It had approached them, mewling and shivering. The ground was covered with about 4" of slushy snow, and winds were howling that day. The little cat was very skinny, but cute as the dickens. She adjusted very well to the warmth of being inside a human's home, and a bowl of warm milk, and some wet cat food, and soon snuggled down on a couch in a quiet corner of the basement for a well-needed nap. But she was hardly domesticated. We needed to give her a flea bath and take her to the vet for a checkup. She behaved exactly like this darling little kitten when I went to pick her up. I should have first donned chain-mail gloves. But I've always been determined to finish whatever I start, so I grabbed her with two hands, or, rather, she grabbed my bare hands with 20 claws and some very sharp teeth. I started bleeding profusely from the many skin punctures, and ditched any plans for a bath at home. The cat carrier was nearby. She let go of me, apparently feeling safe once inside the shelter of the carrier. Oddly enough, by the time we got to the vet, she was copacetic with human contact, apparently having arrived at the conclusion I wasn't going to kill and eat her, or maybe the people at the vet just know how to handle a feral cat without inducing a violent reaction. The vet pronounced her healthy, but undernourished and very small for her age when the age was assessed based upon the development of her teeth. He said she would always be undersized as a result of food deprivation while in what should have been a growing spurt. We made her part of our family of kids, dogs, and other cats, and named her "Isabeau". With a regular diet, she quickly doubled in size. She never again bit me, as I think she realized she was now home. Eighteen years have passed now. Isabeau is presently seated on my desk, adjacent to me, gently purring as I type, and giving me a that look that says I need to set the keyboard aside and make room for her on my lap.
Very brave of you to go near such a fearsome kitty. Shame that the sibling didn’t make it, but at least you’ll be able to give this kitty a chance at a good and healthy life :]
Precious, Adorable Darling babycat ❤🧡💛 Bless you and your family for loving, rescuing, and nurturing them to life and health ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Heart-is-melting ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
SPICY BOI (or girl) ♥️ I say this as someone with a lot of foster/rescue experience who has been scared half to death by a 2-lb kitten who had the fury and destructive power of Dark Phoenix. Converting them to a loving cat is an awesome thing to do.
I trapped my baby Holmes when he was just slightly older than this and put him in my bathroom. He was terrified for about an hour but I gave him wet food and sat with him and he immediately became a little lovebug cuddling in my lap getting chin scritches. 😻 They are so easily swayed at that age. Sadly his very feral mother was run over on the road in front of our house two days later. We had intended to trap her for spaying. It was really sad but at least I was able to rescue her son. He might have had other siblings that passed but I have no idea, I only ever saw him and his mom.
Spitz, the not-long for ferality kitten. What a beautiful tuxedo he has. He's going to be a distinguished gentleman when he grows up...always ready for a gala event.
Reminds me of when I first got my black cat as a kitten almost 18 years ago. I’m happy to say she is still around purring and sitting on my lap whenever I sit down.

It is so funny when they are that small and are hissy/spitty/stompy. Then they get some warmth and cuddles. It's like, never mind the past me, this is great.
Reminds me of Toulouse in the Aristocats: "I'm going to be an alley cat when I grow up...hiss...spit...ok Mama" and never quite gets it right.
They are like "NO AM NOT CUTE! AM BIG SCARY KITTY hiss!" And then they get food, play and cuddles and are like "oh this is actually kinda nice"

Grumpy, hissy kittens usually take about a day to fix.
@@Heymrk yeah… most at that age are more scared than truly feral
@@erikawanner7355 Yes. Exactly!
If they are less than 8 weeks it doesn't take much for them to be socialised.
Yep. Because adult ferals who have never had human contact will not go near humans.
