    Thanks for such beautiful shots of these buildings. I live in Texas City and it's hard to describe architecture in Galveston -this shows it's architectural details and flourishes perfectly.

    The Trube Castle has the most fascinating history. And when first built, there was an underground tunnel that connected it to the Bishops Palace.

    These houses survived the 1900 hurricane because they are on higher ground than most of the island. Nevertheless when the sea wall was installed and that part of town was raised 18 feet, Broadway Blvd was raised about 3 to 4 feet. The retaining wall there was probably added at the time. These houses were not raised.

    No one Knows about the interiors of most of these Mansions except Bishop.s Palace. without knowing what the interior looks like, can't make up my mind,
