Just made one out of cereal boxes just waiting on my son to go find me masking tape then i can put it 2gether thank you for the insiration looking forward to playing in it ❤
I'm always saving the cardboard out of the cat food boxes! I love the idea of turning them into a journal. Great rustic feel and the tape really seals it! No pun intended. Lol😅 Going to make one of these!
I made one a year or so ago from one (corigated) Amazon box. It was inspired by another artist who used stiff wire to make rings to hold it together. Made a smaller ond this year using loose leaf rings. Now i got to put these ideas from your video into another one!
Although I love all your videos, this is one of my two favorites. After watching it the first time, I made my own Cardboard Journal and I love it!. I did my first spread in the first two pages on Valentine's Day 2021 and have added to it on and off until a few weeks ago when I added the last bits. My other favorite hand-made journal is the one I made with the canvas cover. That was a video you did in the membership, and both sit on my desk to remind me to do a little arting when I forget. You always seem to get my creativity going! ☺️
You are an excellent instructor, Consie! I love this simple journal! I especially love how you created mini vision boards in your pages! Great idea! Thank you!
I really love your art and I absolutely love the idea of this journal. I am always afraid to "ruin" a costly journal but I wouldn't feel that way with one like this. Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing this Consie . I can't wait to make this. Don't have enough cardboard but I will definitely be making this as soon as I can and storing carboard to make more 😁😘
I knew I was saving all that cardboard for some reason! Thanks for the step-by-step instructions. I love the idea of a junk, 15-minute journal. Removes that hesitation factor when faced with a blank white page in a "precious" art journal! Do you ever gesso your pages before working on a page?
Consie, you will keep me busy until our next playdate. I am the "Amazon Queen" due to Covid and have plenty of cardboard and masking tape. Thanks so much for sharing and I really enjoy the flip thru of your original one. See you in February Play Date.
Really like this. I have wondered whether it would work just sticking everything together with some sort of tape and now I see it does - but better still see what the pitfalls are in advance :) Thank you for sharing this.
Questions : does the outline of the masking tape show through in your art work ? Also, have you ever used duct tape ? Will paint even cover duct tape ?
Yes it can but I do so much collage it doesn't bother me. The masking tape takes paint well so that helps a lot. I'm not a fan of duct tape but I don't think it would take paint great just because it has a slicker surface. If you use duct tape, you might want to go over it with some white gesso to give it a better painting surface. Hope that helps!
Perfect way to construct the journal so the pages lay flat. Thank you! Lynn
Glad it was helpful! And I agree!
Such a neat and thrifty idea! Many ceral boxes are thrown away every day and now...
And now you can make a super fun project! Thanks for watching!😍
Oh my goodness, I love this and will definitely make one. Thank you so much
You are so welcome! Have fun making your own!

That is exciting, Emma! Have fun using it!💕
Gluing down washi tape is *genius*, Consie. I think I might be brave enough to attempt this.
It just helps it to stick better specially cheap washi! Have fun!

I agree, Barbara! Have fun finding the possibilities!💞
I absolutely loved this tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing! I love how the pages lay flat to work on!
Thanks, Stacy! Yes, that is a great benefit to the journal.😍

Does the cardboard warp from water media?
Hi! If you use a ton of water it might but so far I've had no issues with whatever I chosen to use. Hope that helps!
I usually lay books on top to help reflatten things., when they start to warp.
