I believe everything happens for a reason. On March 15 I turn 77. That day I am teaching my first class of what I named "Art Journaling For Senior Citizen" in our local Art Center, everything free for people 60 and older. (Younger people welcomed.) I have quite a few ideas, but the intention is to continue once a month until people get sick and tired of seeing me. This video is exactly what I needed. Not that I intend to copy, but quite a few really good ideas. (I'm a fan by the way!)
@@ConsieSindet Thank you. I met with some of them today just to tell them what my plans were. They were excited. Two of them have alzheimer's so I will be making it really simple for them.
Happy almost Birthday! Mine is the 14th and my Best Friend's is the 15th! We will add your name to our Good Wishes for Birthday Week! May yours be joyous...❤🎉
I think you're the only artist I've seen who actually works on the pages of their junk journals. The ones with all kinds and sizes of recyled papers, I mean. Most seem to just make the journal and that's it. They don't do anything with it. I've never seen the point, if you aren't going to USE it after making it, LOL. Loved getting a peek through your different journals.
Thanks! Yes, I do see that a lot. And, I do have many journals that I have yet to open!🤗 Sometimes, making the journal is the fun part. Glad to have you!
I found this truly inspiring. I couldn't really put my to-do list in any art journal....it's too messy, and i like my art to be neat. More importantly, i would never get anything done, as i would be working on the arty bit, rather than the productive bit. But - all i ever do is try to be productive, and that isn't leaving any time for art. I love this video though, best thing I've seen on the subject. I subscribed.
They're all lovely but I like the junk journals especially because of the mixed types of pages. Often, I like hard edges but I also like how the colors blend and variegate on your pages. Thanks for the flip through!
Finding your video was like finding an old friend! I also did the Documented Life Project and will forever keep my beautifully stuffed moleskine as a treasured possession. Your journals are filled with wonderful eye candy and make me want to play along. Thank you!
Subscribed less than 5 minutes in. So Beautiful!! 💛I’m 60 years old and just learning how to paint and create handmade junk journals. It helps me through tremors and depression. 🙏❤️🦋
I started doing art journaling in my planner when I was still working. At lunch I would take out my little travel kit and work in it. Now I'm retired and don't need a planner really. I keep a monthly in my purse. But I still do a little coloring in it. Your journals are really beautiful. New subscriber and can't wait to watch more of your videos.
I love this!! That's a great starter idea (your first art journal). I love making "books". I like the cardboard book idea. I'm 55. After 30 years of an art hiatus my creativity ignited again thanks to the pandemic and RUclips I found mixed media art. Thank you so much for this video and your inspiration!!
Consie, I just found your channel. New upgrade to my computer and wha-la there you were. I love this video. I was glued to my seat. For the last 3-4 years I have been watching so many art channels and bought and bought and just watched. I finally feel inspired to create something. I love the last two journals you're still working on. The colors, designs, size. I very happy to be here..
I watched this video last week and loved the idea of the magazine. I forgot to add to my scrap techniques playlist and couldn't find it. I was so delighted when it showed up on my recommended videos today. ❤ thank you for sharing. I love all the colors you use.
I enjoyed discovering you. Love your use of color and style. I need to think about setting an intention to just play. It’s hard for me to get into my journal without some kind of plan or purpose. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Love this Connie and so glad I found your channel! I’ve been art journaling since around 2006? I did the documented life project too and think I might use the prompts again next year! I miss being in groups of artists sharing their ideas and work.
omgosh , that's so amazing and beautiful ❣️❣️❣️ thanks for sharing your art with us....I'm so happy found you today 🙏🙏🙏 I think I 've seen you birthday 😅....1.April isn't it? 🤭😁👌
Wow‼️. You have shared such a heartfelt journey on these pages!! I love that you are always reminding us of that said journey, that we just need to start with ANY materials we have lying around!😏. I am so enjoying the playground lessons! Thanks for sharing such amazing work and talent!!❤. I will definitely look to the playground for ideas to create covers for junk journals. Reusing ‘free’ mail materials intrigues me. Having different sizes and materials for pages is a great springboard for inspiration!!❤️
I have your cardboard journal saved from a while back. I found that one very helpful because I like the idea of making my own. I also like your Prana catalog journal. It would be fun to paint over parts of the page and create a new narrative. Tfs ! 🎨✨️
I'm 2 minutes in, and I have to stop. Subscribe. And like. Oh, and I peeked at the thumbnails of your other videos, too! But this seems to be the perfect video to start with😊
You are a very good artist… creative and colourful…beautiful ideas…love the magazine idea… I will use some of your ideas even for scrapbooking to brighten up the pages with a splash of art. Love it…
Hi I’ve just subscribed to your channel I really love your work it really speaks to to me I also bounce from book to book it depends on the mood that I am it’s what I want to create thanks for sharing💕
This definitely did give me some very fun ideas. The journals displayed really looked like fun (except the bullet part as I've never been drawn to that type. I have several journals that I've done and lately I have been working on some different types like my In the Forest journal, and also my junk journals, all of which need me to get back to my mixed media days. Loved looking at your journals. Thank you and I've just subscribed. XOJANE
I am absolutely thrilled to have found you!!!! This is exactly what I need. Im way too rigid with my art. Where do you get your ideas for each page? Liked and subbed ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this! Such an inspiration! (And, I adore your junk journals!) Hey! You've got something about Asheville! That's where I live! Do you live here? Or are you close by?

Thanks, Melanie! My ideas can start with some of my collage bits, a journal page I saw someone else do or I use prompts a ton.😊
