When I was a kid and I first beat this game, I wasn't very good at it, and two of the teammates were shot down. Back then I assumed they were killed, and this music made me think about how they didn't live to see the victory they fought so hard for.
Idazmi7 You know what I don't get? If Falco is supposed to be the most skilled member of starfox, then why does he die after only 2-3 levels (if you don't keep him from getting shot down) whereas fox goes through the whole game without needing assistance?
SlimeSlayer 242 Very good question. It likely relates to the fact that Fox is the protagonist and Falco isn't. Really, with this sort of game I don't think they should have mentioned relative skills *_anywhere_* around the game itself, unless it's a plot point or something.
They used the original Star Fox Theme in the Switch Version of Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Felt so satisfying to finally hear some music of the original and not the music from Star Fox 64, which is still very good and still suiting Star Fox as well
You can actually hear a bit of SF1 in Star Fox Zero, off the top of my head I remember hearing motifs in that game's Corneria and Lylat screen tracks. Just one downside; it was Star Fox Zero
@@helloworld5555I actually asked one of the programmers, Dylan Cuthbert, about the sizes. He said they had no true meaning and were included just for fun.
And as the credits roll... You are giving this time to reflect on all that you just went thru... and all the memories you just made playing through till the end.
I think this is my favorite song in the whole game. I like it more than the credits theme. The inclusion of the original Star Fox main theme, that wonderful percussion, and just overall how the tone of the song is, "Your journey's at an end."
This is one of, if not, the best tracks on all of Star Fox, they should have revamped it for Star Fox 64. It is probably one of the best tracks in the series. Very well arranged. Thank you Mr. Hirasawa for the ear-gasm
Lylat Wars as it was called here in the uk was fucking terrible music it was one of the things that ruined the game for me, it didn’t have that wonder and epic ness of the SNES original
@@levitabusman Just looked it up, Lylat Wars seems to be that of Star Fox 64 for the US (to my knowledge) and it's two differently game OSTs xD unless SF64 remade this song, i have not heard of it, but i highly doubt it.

I'd hear this song in my head for years while going to college, wishing I could find it. Then years later I stumbled onto sid and sfc archives with game files. Plunged down the chiptunes rabbit hole with this ditty and haven't been able to climb out since.
The music made me feel like I accomplished something on a grand scale. I took place in a key role taking down a galactic wide totalitarian regime and brought an era of unprecedented peace to Corneria and it’s sister colonies.
***** definitely. the SNES had a soundchip that was dedicated to the music. On the n64 there was no soundchip - the music directly affected the workload of the entire game. for this reason n64 music was rarely as good in my opinion... although I do think there are titles on the n64 that did have really good music. Check out the Body Harvest OST for instance
+R Jones There were a few N64 games that had good soundtracks...take F-Zero X for example. I also thought Star Fox 64 had pretty good OST's, but not as good as this one.
Me too, then I could make sure we don't accidentally tape over old family footage this time. And also have mum or dad take photos of me in my Batman outfit.
I absolutely love this. It truly gives you a feel of accomplishment, and is something you deserve for putting hard work in your mission as the Star Fox team.
damn. ya og snes starfox was a lot darker tone. ur team if got down they aint coming back... no great fox. no ROB. just fox and his friends and those epic arwings. still my fav one outta the franchise.
The first time I heard this after a grueling time beating Starfox for the first time... It was such a sense of gratification. They really did their job with this song!
Even though the majority of people state that the best Starfox is the Nintendo 64 one, I totally disagree, to me the best is the SNES version just because it look and sounded like this game had to be taken serious! Stunning gameplay, incredible bosses and even the commercial of this game slap Sega in the face with what was said! Insulting Sega's welcome to the next level commercial. I'll never forget this game, this game is the true representation of the Super FX chip!
I remember being 10 and playing this with one of them big ol old school stereos hooked up to the tv which made it even better when i beat the game and heard this master piece for the first time!! If theres ever a remake i want the same sound track exactly as is 🤷🏻♂️
I finally beat all 3 levels of star fox. What a fantastic game! Nintendo do and Argonaut put there all into this game. Now on to Star Fox 2 and 64. I'm excited!
Yo, I wonder if the soundtrack that plays right before this one has a name (and a 15-min video). The theme that plays when Star Fox leave Venom and Gen. Pepper contacts them. Edit: never mind, I just found it, it’s the Game Clear Demonstration theme.
When I was a kid and I first beat this game, I wasn't very good at it, and two of the teammates were shot down. Back then I assumed they were killed, and this music made me think about how they didn't live to see the victory they fought so hard for.
That's actually pretty fucking sad
In this first game, they _are_ killed if they get shot down.

Because everyone, if you fail a 'save' event, takes 1/4 health damage. No exceptions. If I remember right, he doesn't often get save events, though.
This is THE Starfox song for me
Shogo5000 agreed
Beautiful. Wish later games had reused anything from this game's OST.
They used the original Star Fox Theme in the Switch Version of Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Felt so satisfying to finally hear some music of the original and not the music from Star Fox 64, which is still very good and still suiting Star Fox as well
Star Fox 64 sounded too generic for me... while I usually like very much Kondo’s style ... Hirasawa better captured the essence of star fox
Especially the intro from the Snes game
You can actually hear a bit of SF1 in Star Fox Zero, off the top of my head I remember hearing motifs in that game's Corneria and Lylat screen tracks.
Just one downside; it was Star Fox Zero
Copyright issues with Argonauts?
That sense of accomplishment after you clear route 3
Fortuna, Macbeth were annoying and don't get me started on sector z
FACTS 💯
Learning all the boss names and what their attacks are was my favorite part about beating the game
and the sizes of them.

PURE JOY TO HEAR THIS MUSIC AFTER DEFEATING THIS GAME. A TRUE FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT!!

Showing off the bosses running with no slowdown at all....I enjoyed that.
Nothing more satisfying than hearing this after defeating Andross on the Level 3 route on your last life and no more continues.
...This is easily the second Most Emotional soundtracks from this game...LEGENDARY.

SNES version Starfox is a true masterpiece ever.
As a kid back in the day I used to beat the game as fast as possible just to hear this.
There is ONE dislike. Who would commit such a horrible atrocity?
In Fox's lame 64 voice: "It's Andross and his nephew, Andrew!" xD
This is Corneria, Pepper speaking, congratulations on a job well done!
Love this theme way more then the 64 theme!
I fell in love with this game the first time I played it!! This game brings back memories every time I play it:-)
Me TOO!!!!
I felt so accomplished when I beat this game when I was 10 years old. Best theme song to be proud of !
One of the best soundtrack in the Star Fox series and it was never present in all other Star Fox games!!!?!?!
BOOOO!
BOOOO-UURRRNS!
Ah... so the boss I always called "Big Stupid F*cking Ship That Doesn't Die" is called "Great Commander"?
Such a kickass song, amazing that the snes can reproduce that quality
Beautiful :)
I love when games do a cast roll with enemies at the end.
Pikmin too
This song is so underrated. Its fantastic and strikes emotion
Never played this game as I kid, but the music is great! Honestly, it would've went well with the Milky Way Wishes game on Kirby Superstar too.

One of the best ending themes in all of video game history.
Just replayed this game last night. Got through the hardest course. The memories as a kid though
Used to get my 6 year old son to literally fly through the game so i could hear this.
Classic
Love this theme might remix it
That Sony chip in the SNES is still booming in 2022. Sounds great on good sound system👍
This song made me feel, "Yeah I remember fighting this b*tch, he was a pain in the ass."
"Great Commander" aka "Glad I saved my goddamn nova bombs". "Atomic Base II" that goes for you too, you and your Sector Z.
So many timpani/orchestra hits....
If nostalgia had a theme
Another speck in my eyes. Goddamn! LOL
R.I.P. ANDROSS 😢 😢

I never understood the significance of displaying the size information in each boss description. I would’ve preferred a short backstory instead.
