+wanes82 Build quality seemed fine, although the exhausts on these I've seen in the U.K. Tend to rust so one to look out for. I don't think reliability will be an issue on a modern Ducati (at least it's not in my experience)....
TMF Just checked out this review. popped as a rec. on my TV (watch all my RUclips the box) I had ridden this 2 or 3 years back myself and although I love the looks and ergonomics, it didn't really gel with me. Strange because I like the Ducati Super Sport. And I think the engine is more or less the same. Correct me if I,m wrong.

OKish - but it does get rather hot and the turning circle isn't brilliant (for filtering) - + difficult to carry stuff other than in a rucksack, other than that fine I reckon!

In your latest review on XDiavel (Real World Lessons Learned | Ducati XDiavel Review) you pretty much said it was uncomfortable and more of a show pony than an everyday riding bike, is the Diavel much better than the XDiavel then if you are looking for something to ride often. As I had to sell my bikes due to financial issues but I am now in the market to get a new bike and I am looking at Ducati Diavel's ranging from 2011-2015. Many thanks
I didn’t realise you tested a Diavel good man 👍 I’ve owned 2 in the past & love the raw animal like behaviour a true beast but I was afraid of loosing my licence so traded I for a GSA. Have you seen the new 1260s ? really looking forward to see a review on that one 😁

The Diavel is a great bike. I had a carbon model for two years and traded it for a KTM Superduke GT early last year…..I have just bought another Diavel carbon. . Plenty of power, great handling and comfort and I think superior styling compared to the KTM. I would recommend the Diavel especially for someone who wants the performance of a super bike but with a lot more comfort.

(just a general question, don't wanna sound like I am intrusive, just curious and maybe repeat it in my country) :) there is a scene in the "woolf of wall street" when Leo sees guy pulling out in Ferrari and asks him "what does one do to afford such a car" and my Q is on the same basis :)

I test rode the XR today and paid deposit ;) small question should i go with the higher trim level or the basic one is enough? i think the difference mainly is in the ESA suspension and navigation. demo i tested was the basic one.

I wonder if they still make them 2019 (I don't like the X version at all). I turn 40 then, so I will test ride and see if its fordable to buy one. I guess this is the bike for me. I like the look of a glider but the performance and road handling of a street bike.
Any reason? as I am toying with the idea of the T120 or the Diavel, both very different bikes of course, but looking for something fun at weekends, and capable of long trips of 200 Miles +

+joshprabhakar No real reason why not, it's low and confidence inspiring and not particularly hard to ride. Personally I'd advise against it as a first bike though just because of the power of the machine - temptation to open her up and get out of your depth would be a real danger to all but the most disciplined new rider.....cheers for stopping by, all the best - TMF
+joshprabhakar if your heads screwed on your be fine. I hopped straight on to a 850cc after passing my test and to be fair it scared the hell out of me if went over 5000revs:) so perhaps that's a good thing. As for a 1200....I would not know but got a test ride on one soon wohoooo

Perhaps this is its strong suit however, Ducati doesn't make cruisers and this attempt didn't really pass the test. Lots of samples up for sale rather cheap and being sold before its first interval oil change which starts at 600 miles. Seems like the data shows people bought it for pure looks and the looks didn't match the actual ride afterwards.
+Lilox Luv Yes I would agree with that - personally I love the looks, but the ride was frankly nothing special (and as I later found out a little uncomfortable on longer runs - although the poor surfaces of some of the California interstates may be to do with that coupled with the fact this was a poorly maintained rental bike). I love the look of the new XDiavel - but with those feet forward foot pegs.....defo not for me, ever...

Yes not the perfect beginners bike by any means!
I started on a 180hp zx12r. Nothing ever happened.. Only got 1 fine in germany. Just respect the power of your bike and get to know her.

No I wouldn’t say the “standard” Diavel is better or worse - great bikes to look at and drool over, to ride and live with? Not so much for me….

What kind of mpg are you getting? I hear they put a lot of ethanol in their fuel in the US.
according to the on board computer around 46mpg....sound about right??

Had mine since 2014 and will NEVER sell it. Nothing quite like it.
(Got the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello-S which is also a wonderful machine).
i am going tomorrow to the showroom to finally buy a bike. i have 2 good offers on either BMW s1000xr or Ducati Diavel. which one would you pick ?
