This officer is chinese because he asked the cameraman in Cantonese whether he can see down the barrel and the cameraman also replied back in cantonese. He's not an Army Cadet instructor because cadets uses LA85 GP (General Purpose) single shots. The cocking handle would be bigger with some kind of lever. My guess is he's probably on an exchange visit from the Hong Kong Police to learn about military training in the UK. After all it was the British SAS helped and trained the Hong Kong Police Special Unit called the SDU.
I'm pretty sure we still clear weapons before cleaning them don't we. Even the l98a2 which I believe that is... ( please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
I've been looking for a video of this rifle getting disassembled. By looking at the components, it's true that it's a bull pup derived Armalite AR-18. They really must have screwed up the design in translation since the AR-18 is "AK-Reliable". The Costa Mesa Ar-180 used to shoot in the 90's went through 10K of ammo without a hiccup and with minimal cleaning.
There is full auto. Full auto just means the same as 'automatic' hold the trigger down, the weapon continues to fire until ammunition is expended or trigger is released.
He's a cadet instructor. You can tell as he says the rifle is the "semi auto model" cadets are not allowed to fire fully automatic they are only allowed to fire on repetition.
The Original SA80 without modifications ended up a joke with a ridiculous drill then you were on the range, as you had to manually check the bolt was fully back before taking your next shot.
"Tap forward assist"[edit] At the OTC, we mainly used the A1 version. One of the things we were taught during rifle drill was "tap forward assist" a very scientific term for "bashing the cocking handle forward a couple of times to make sure it goes all the way forward." This was explained as because the spring was quite weak, the cocking handle doesn't go forward sometimes. Should this be added if it is true?--Pudduh 20:08, 16 July 2006 (UTC) The forward assist is a standard British Army drill regardless of the weapon. The M16A2 actually has a button protuding from the RHS which can be hit to push the bolt fully forward (as forward assisting the cocking handle would be no good, due to differences in the design). I don't think it's anything to do with a specific weakness with the L85/86. Yorkshire Phoenix (talk • contribs) 08:08, 17 July 2006 (UTC) It might be now, but I remember it being introduced on the SA80 in the early 90s. This is an L98A2 not an L85A2. The L85A2 is capable for fully automatic fire, whereas the 98 is only capable of semi-auto fire. Also, no functions test?
You know why they made that ban? simply to protect domestic gunsmith. and guess what happened to those who've voted Yes, they were voted out of their offices but sad portion was, the damage had been done. PS: if you think the american laws were dumb enough, tell me whom else sucks less?
Thanks guys it's hard to practice in the UK and I'm training to be a cadet advisor with no prior experience so this helps me have an edge on my APC test, good luck in combat boys. ... BTW my Chinese isn't good but "Tai dao"? What dose "too much sword" mean in mandarin to English idioms? I learned fractured Chinese/Cantonese from working on fishing boats this is all get from "Tai Dao" is "Too much sword" maybe someone can help me figure that out cause captions doesn't know what to do when the camera man speaks.
Cocking the weapon a couple of times after reassembly is not exactly a correct function test but everything else was fine but he also didnt disassemble the bolt. Dont copy this.
This an ACF (Army Cadet Force) Officer, probably kept in an office all day, been let lose on a range with a weapon. I know cadets that can do better than this - DO NOT follow these bad drills.
+British Politics Some of the instructors are worse than the cadets (only senior cadets) ive seen an instructor firing on the range once, she had to fire rapid, closed her eyes and shot the ground infront of her multiple times.
Notice how the recoil spring is the wrong way around when he takes it out, then he turns it over to show us, before putting it back the RIGHT way? I'd have laughed if he'd tried to fire it without stripping it first! Some doughnut fucked up the assembly before.
He would of failed his skill at arms for the not making sure the weapon was clear before he disassembled it when he charged the weapon he could of placed a live/blank round into the chamber bad drills sir... Bad drills! And to the person who said he was a LT think again 3 pips is a captain
Poor skills. That's the idiot's way of stripping, not even the text book method (which still isn't right for in the field). Ken, you shouldn't be passing out *restricted* information to anyone on the planet!
I swear. Someone must have egged him on just to show how little officers know about the system. Not even half an NSP before stripping. That's a fail off me.
You are a Lt, you should not be posting 'restricted' information over the internet, i will be reporting to my Chain Of Command, I advise you to remove this video ASAP. You are an officer and you should know better on the drills of the weapon and you should know better on what shouldnt be posted over the internet. Remember you are an Commissioned Officer, standby from a big bollocking
I'm trying to remember this so I can look good when I go for training lol

+timtim0007 we use the L98A2 not L85
Which is basically just like the SA80 except it doesn't have the option to be made into full auto
hes obviously a ghurka
Finally, someone who can take the Rear/Front TMH pins of correctly :')
finally, we are making progress. need more video about this rifle.
Yes, the three pips showing he's a Captain probably indicate you're right.
I'm pretty sure we still clear weapons before cleaning them don't we. Even the l98a2 which I believe that is... ( please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
Hes probably on exchange. dont get too excited
i am sure this guy is come form Hong Kong ^^
Easiest things in the world to take apart....could do it with my eyes closed.
Love using these in CCF

this guy must be a space cadet....
How is it?
This is real gun ! in UK Wales Army Range.

Gosh I hate airsoft.... Thank you. This is the only video I could find that wasn't a toy review.
The Original SA80 without modifications ended up a joke with a ridiculous drill then you were on the range, as you had to manually check the bolt was fully back before taking your next shot.
What drill was that. Certainly not one I remember
Laura Smith Maybe just an RAF thing
Considering everyone works off the same Pam 5. I doubt that too.
Forward assist.

Yea
Bottom one isn't a pip, it'll be his regimental badge.
Surely there's no gas pumps.... Isn't the first of the 2 the gas cylinder ?
The order he pulled the out was Gas piston, gas cylinder and gas plug
終於比我搵到個華人officer........
Finally, a take-down video thats not airsoft.
This thing went through 60,000 rounds with no issues in testing...
Nice vid , thanks.
they are from hong kong!
No, they are not. They are made by HK (Heckler & Koch) a German company...
Peakairsoft do you need a hug?
lololololol

Your suppose to check the barrel and firing pin in the bolt before you reassemble the rifle
1:25
Lt Chow: 睇唔睇到
Camera man: 睇到
Lt Chow: 睇唔睇到果d rifle groove
Camera man: 咩rifle groove啊?
Lt Chow: 得喇, 算啦
Woman: 入面d坑啊
Lt Chow: 好, 熄左佢吖
LOL
...I was told videos like these aren't meant to be on youtube by my PRO
take the bolt carrier assembly apart then!!

It's the l98 A2 as well mate
its an l85a2 or SA80 the standard issue service rifle of the Brittish Armed Forces
If u going to do it do it right
Cadet, not army...
No volume!
He would of failed his skill at arms for the not making sure the weapon was clear before he disassembled it when he charged the weapon he could of placed a live/blank round into the chamber bad drills sir... Bad drills! And to the person who said he was a LT think again 3 pips is a captain
What if he made the rifle safe prior to filming?
It's two pips and a regimental badge
Looks like an l98a2 not an sa80
i know i can do it and i'm 15, thanks to Cornwall ACF
airsoft is great
Sorry, disregard that - my fault - the bottom 'pip', on closer inspection, seems to be part of his unit's nomenclature.
Somehow I strongly doubt he is an actual major
Not being able to tell the difference makes you as bad as the rest of them.
life
His drunk what?
13
there is no such thing a fully auto its single shot bolt action semi automatic and automatic
i can do this and i am 14
