Honestly, while this show seems fun and lighthearted at first glance, it is actually so much more, and I highly recommend this for anyone here who hasn't yet watched it.
This show really does mean the world to me. It’s a show all about the power of kindness, positivity and joy, and I think it came out at a time when the world needed it most.
I love this show even more now, but now I miss it even more :(, I didn't realize until now that it did actually inspire me to take a few risks in the time I was watching it as it aired
This message hit me hard and I'm 24. "Risks are what make life worth living ✨️". That plus amphibia's themes about change are what will stick with me going forward
Honestly the Ghost and Molly McGee really touched us with a colorful lesson that can genuinely inspired people. I mean to mean won’t topple Amphibia’s message but it’s a close third.
it even effected me, i want to move to the city where my new friends live, they make me happy, out of a relationship im still affected a year ago, living with parents atm, but that what i see my life is going to
Its a message that goes a lot of ways and more people need to hear. If studios took risks we would get more shows green lit and they would air more seasons. If WE took risks we could have more memorable days in our lives Things change is important too. A lesson MLP :FiM didn't risk telling us. Even Gravity Falls didn't Risk Stan keeping his memory loss. Us Weirdos stick together is also important Over values I would like to pass on No one is wrong , there are just different ways to live. Some times people are beyond redemption and need to be stopped Freedom is worth fighting for, don't run from your troubles we all deserve forgiveness and 2nd chances you can be a hero and wrong too your actions have consequences even good intentions can lead to hell the world can not be destroyed, only changed and change is not to be feared. preserving the past is important but so is moving forward some risk shouldn't be taken your life has value things get better dangerous people need to be locked away see red flags and act on them learn from each other how you are the same we are all some one's family respect each other as you would want your self treated respect things and places as you would respect your own things and places it may not be real but it still matters life is made up of many good byes cherish what we had even if its brief we are stronger bonded together don't keep secrets unless its important to keep a secret. You'll feel better if your honest.
As an older fan of the show who is now halfway through his 30s, that ending hit painfully close to home. While I still wish they would've been granted a third season to tie up a few of the unresolved plot points (and perhaps ease a bit more directly into "The End"), this was still a perfect way to wrap things up and will certainly make any series rewatches quite bittersweet.
Dunno if anyone already made a similar remark, but the second time I watched Molly's speech about taking risks, I realized that certain others working at Disney could sure benefit from it.
Let's take some stock of a few risks here: Mabel took a risk with the portal timer and Ford came back, and another risk later on that led to Bill running loose Marcy took a risk with the music box on Earth, and risked pouring her heart out to Andrias, and pretty much when she stood up to Aldrich in the Core mindscape. Sasha risked permanently losing Anne's friendship with her coup in Newtopia, Anne later risked whether Sasha would step up again at the mind control factory I think it's also fair to say that Sprig risked whether Andrias would listen or not when he showed up with Leif's letter And Luz's risks... from what I have seen, too many to comprehend. The list goes on, but it's great to see that what I call "the first blood in the new era" summed up something that needed to be said for a while. Oh and that mention about "being brave enough to share yourself with the world" in the finale? Yesterday, I took a risk by sharing a lot of myself in the latest Anna Akana clip: ruclips.net/video/eFHnLTbU5WA/видео.html
This show holds a very foundation of my life because I'm greatful that it existed , that I know in life as I'm gonna approach my early 20s' that I'm gonna do my best to be happy and positive for what comes around and embracing the fact that risks are important to decide whether its a bad thing or a good thing, Like it gives me confidence for the choices that I made, sure risks come with a consequence but it will still work out in the end. Tgamm is a pillar that holds my life today and forever be remembered as the generations go by. ❤
well I'm watching this and playing on my phone, and I just got home from work it's Friday and I don't work on weekends and I'm not in school also it's like 7:00pm
This video made me realize that TGAMM has a lot of parallels with the show Dead Like Me. Specifically in the themes of learning to live through your afterlife (as its about grim reapers who still have to have normal lives with normal day jobs) and in how risks make life worth living. Even as this little group of grim reapers tries to teach the slacker 18-year-old Georgia that she can't, say, go back to her living family, can't not take souls and the likes, each and every one of them bends or breaks the rules of Death in some way. Like, if you read between the lines, Roxy keeps complaining about a string of bad luck, which implies that she's being punished for continually preventing someone's death since the start of the series, if not for longer. Its the thing that makes you realize that she isn't as resigned to her existence as you think. Life is about taking risks, but DLM also talks about how these risks so often involve our relationships to rules- those imposed by society, and those imposed by reality itself. And how coping with them really isn't all that different, even though one set of rules is completely inviolable. But the message about rules is one that's much more... adult. Not in that """its too difficult for children,""" but that it doesn't quite fit into the emotional logic of Molly McGee, and would drag it down. They managed to insert plenty of real world stressors and peril without hard and fast lore. (There would be no improvement to the series if they stated there was some kind of timer that the kids were on while in wraith form, for example) I guess I'm just now realizing just how fascinating Molly McGee is, in that it was able to express the Post-Postmodernist Momento Mori (The sense of optimism in undeath) of shows much of Brian Fuller's works, but in a totally child friendly and accessible way. And if you haven't seen Pushing Daisies and Dead Like me, and you enjoy Molly McGee, you're in for a treat. PD is whimsical, DLM is cynical, both dark comedies with death, mystery and a lot of heart. I think I focused on DLM here because of the theme of risk taking and being in the middle of another DLM rewatch, but either are a good show, depending on your mood. There's also Wonderfalls, but its not as wholesomely death-ccentric.
In Season 3: Robe Knows Best: Chairman's Robe Chose Ollie Chen as The Host or The New Chairman But In Fact That Chairman's Robe is Controlling and Corrupting Ollie's Mind and Developing Ollie's Worst Personality and Worst Behavior Like Cruel, Selfish, Jerk, and Arrogant and Turns Him Evil, and Even Worse, Breaking His Friendships With His Friends (Molly, Geoff, Jeff, Libby, and Darryl) and His Family (Ruben, Esther, and June) (Just Like Venom Symbiote From Spider Man)
I really didn't expect this kind of bittersweet ending. We see evidence that Scratch's memories aren't totally gone, but they don't seem to be coming back in any meaningful way. And they could've softened the blow if they wanted to. Even if they didn't go all the way and show him getting his memories back like in Gravity Falls, they could've still done something like have one of those pictures in the end credits show him back in Brighton or meeting Molly and her family again. I sort of respect them for not pulling their punches, but it still makes me sad. I mean the McGees in particularly were less friends, and more of a found family for Scratch. Leaving family behind is sad enough, but losing your memories of them is an even more somber concept. Honestly I think if it was me I would've stayed a wraith rather than risk that. But I can see why that isn't really a good conclusion to come to either. I'd like to think the Chairman's Cloak is actually following Scratch around on all these adventures, waiting for him to croak for real. I feel like the version of Scratch that has lived a full and happy life before dying is exactly the kind of ghost that would be worthy of that power. I also feel like when he dies he will have his full memories from both his life and his time as a wraith. I can't really tell if this is a happy or dark head canon since it boils down to me basically hoping for Scratch's death...
I thought Molly McGee's message was about making a difference and helping others including when it involves risk or putting other needs before your own.
This show was done dirty, it didn't even get any kind of season 3, even though they could've done it, cause apparently, The End was supposed to be the season 3 finale instead of the season 2 finale, showing they had more they could've done more with the show. I bet Disney cancelled it for something stupid.
I'll say it: the end of Scratch/Todd's arc is how they should've done Stan in Gravity Falls! I love GF but the memory erasing should've been permanant also the name is a lie! this is The Wraith And Molly McGee!

Fun fact: The music staying in the title card for “Mazel Tov, Libby!” Sounds a lot like “when you least expect it” by Atomic Pink
