Right? This is one of the most unexpectedly interesting series on RUclips, hands down.
Not to mention these segments are sometimes literally NOT low budget. $167 for a vintage bootleg toy is no small potatoes.

I imagine that in the future, when these things are antique and the 80s are of interest to historians, some of them might use Phelous' research as a stepping off point, which is a cool idea

there was an episode of the cartoon exactly like that. A group of ghosts called Peoplebusters hunted humans.

Really enjoyed the video and your other Ghostbusters videos too. As a kid, the Real Ghostbusters was a favorite show of mine until the changes (I quit watching when they renamed it Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters), so I love finding more about the series and the merchandise that spawned from it. Keep up the great work!

Great video of a obscure "toyline". I am a proud owner of two sets of these figures. Had them as a kid. Never played much with them, so mine are in excellent condition. While each figure seems to come with a particular ghost, the color can vary on all four ghosts. The colors range from green, yellow and purple. Yellow seems to be the most uncommon color.
Bootleg Ray is what it would look like if Jim Belushi played the character.
Michael Kuzmanovski and Bootleg Egon looks like Anderson Cooper with shades.

As a big fan of Ghostbusters I highly enjoy this video! Lots of wonderful jokes and silly moments! Certainly makes me smile and laugh a lot!

I remember as a kid seeing a commercial for CITV's showings of Real Ghostbusters that being with a kid playing with 'the Pretend Ghostbusters' using various unrelated toys (like a Playmobile figure). I guess we've now found the actual Pretend Ghostbusters.
The best way to get rid of shit you don't want is to sell it in lots. I had a couple complete, mint in box rare NES games, but I also had a huge lot of NES related junk I wanted to unload. So I put the whole thing up with the intent to sell those rare games and unload everything else I don't want. If people want Duck Tales 2 complete in box, they'll just have to buy the whole damn lot.
My grandmother got a Spook Chasers figure for me when I was younger. Sadly I got rid of it years ago when I was moving. Great video sir. I try to watch every Bootleg Zone vid you make.

I could totally see these guys in a plot similar to IDW's comic. That they were an off-brand Paranormal Extermination company who reversed engineered the proton packs (however no Nintendo Zapper this time :P). They created all this tech, but really didn't know how to use it. Then like in the IDW comic and it comes back to bite them in the ass similar to the "Play-doh" ghost legion lol

A Doc Savage story was originally called Spook Legion. (Crooks who could turn invisible) When it was reprinted as illustrated hardcover by Whitman (during the 70s movie) it was changed to Ghost Legion.
To me, Spook chasers looks like the awesome adventures of Max Headroom, Babe Ruth, Larry from Upstairs.....and World famous Rice Chef Uncle Ben.
I had the Peter one as a kid. I thought it was a new series due to the fact that (If i remember correct) Ghosbusters toys were starting to loose popularity.

Sun golds marketing department decided that kids only like slimer so they would later make whole series of figures that are just slimers, but their slimer was called grimer. After that the series went down hill.....
