You laugh, but they nearly did this exact thing in the horrible live-action movie. The green skin in the finished movie is CG makeup that they added in post because test audiences were rightly pissed that Piccolo-daimao wasn't green.

I think the black hair super saiyan Goku is actually them using a season 1 Goku screenshot as a frame of reference. They used to have Goku's hair blow back when he was charging toward the screen. It looks cool in the show but looks really odd in still shots.

Actually when Goku is flying, at some angles the shape of his hair does look like Super Saiyan. I would not have said that is a mistake...

I know it doesn't have to be a reference to the games but I'm pretty sure the games are why they stuck that name on this set.

I've been waiting for you to do DBZ bootlegs. I've had many growing up, but my god, I never once thought in a million years I could have had bootlegs THAT bad!
I also had many of those good figures you showed. Makes me miss them. I remember the super-golden versions of Super Saiyan Teen-Gohan and Goku, and also how much that gold paint came off so easily. I don't think those were bootlegs since they were identical to the normal ones both in mold and in quality, but then again you've shown that there is such thing as high-quality bootlegs...

Picollo Fusion with Gohan looks... Weird
I think the bootleg figure he says is Gotenks is actually supposed to be Gogeta from Fusion Reborn due to that hair strand that sticks out. Or the bootleggers got the two con-FUSED (sorry for the pun). Guess you could use that bootleg figure as fusion of the fusions Gogeta and Gotenks.

the art work on adult goku is the look they gave him when he's flying or rushing at some or running at high speeds like in some old dbz episodes
Out of curiosity Phelous, when the bootlegs are this bad, do you just trash them as soon as you're done filming & editing, or do you put them in a bin that's far away from you good toys & 'decent' bootlegs?
I have the original Irwin saga continues piccolo and the Bandi Krillin as well, and these bootlegs are monster's compared to them (as shown with Krillin). Every one of these videos I watch im amazed how the bootleggers think that nobody is going to mind that these are shit. Anyways, thx !!!

of the Bandai Japan ones,
how I knew they were bootlegs?
they were package in how a American's toys were,
just a thin flap cardboard, that was decently made
fully colored prints showing off the title on font
and other toys you can get on the back (forgot the bootleg title name was),
and not in a small box that the originals had.
but they were pretty good and well made still,
I got Piccolo and Super Teen Gohan in Piccolo's outfit.
they were made out of heavy rubber plastic,
oh man I remember holding Majin Buu (fat) figure,
he was heavy... yes they were solid rubber figures
and only the arms can move, and you can remove the cape and other accessories.
they were well made out of lighter plastic
and with passable paint jobs.

4 years late but I wanted to say that to be fair, Goku wears the outfit he does at the end of the series so briefly and is so close to his GT gear that it's really understandable why people would mix the two up.

I wonder what he does with the bootlegs he deems to be really, really bad. I mean the amusing ones might be fun to keep around because they're funny or have something neat about them but ones really bad (like these) wouldn't be.

Those pics on the back are actually the real toys looks like they all the series of the original dbz toys on there.

The only difference is the pants color, for some reason GT made his pants yellow.

lol remember back in the early 200's I was living in washington state and we went to a asian flea market and they had a knock off set of GT figures they looked like they were recasted from the bandai figures,but instead of vinyl or rubber they were casted in plastic in two halfs either screwed or glued together.
The skit at the end tied this video in a nice bow!
