Legit only had this controller for like 2 months and it started drifting that fast, my old controller i had for 4 years yet it had no problems within that time
Ong
I had the same problem granted it was over a longer period of time (1 year) that I got drift on my series x controller but I have controllers from the og xbox one that still have no drift on them and it's not like my family doesn't use them, we use them all the time.
Had my series x controller about 8 months Dec - Jul, August maybe it went l was stunned, I still got an Xbox 1 x controller hanging in there still to this day, why the drop standards I am bemused!
Same here. Within about a couple of months I got stick drift, and all my other controllers I had for 10-20 years still work. If it's within 3 months you're under warranty though!
Same
I swear if they make a 300$ non drift guaranteed controller, i would buy it. Ive bought over 8 controllers in 2 years because of drift.
bro are you srs $300 what are you jeff bezos it’s a damn controller
@@origamiwithrami yes u r right, its a damn controller what always drift. My new Series contr. was after 2 weeks defect, thats not acceptable
@@_Sokarbank_ my left joystick doesn't work
@@origamiwithrami it’s cheaper than 8 controllers, really wish they’d design the bumpers differently too. Those are the buttons I have problems with
@@OscarPerez-og7kt 1 thing i must say, ps4 dont has this problem with left stick. I love xbox but controller quality was ps always better, not ergonomy but the quality
30 years later and im still blowing on video game stuff. Real OG's know what I'm on about
Gameboy, Ds, Dsi, 2Ds, 3Ds, etc.
🤣
Ah man i’m a lot younger but i was granted the gift of being able to play on a nintendo with the game cartridges, mortal kombat with my uncle was the best. 🕊️
Holy crap! The blowing actually worked! I've been dealing with the drift for like a month and it was getting worse.
👏👏 Thank you!
Did you have to do it again after you did it
@@butterskk Yup. I need to take it apart and clean it properly. There's definitely something in there messing with it. I bought a new controller for now.
Hehe you blew ur controller
@@scottstalker8157Keep talking that shit and I’ma come over there and blow you like a candle my boy
@@scottstalker8157the blowing worked 😮
This dude told me to blow in a controller to fix it I thought that sounded so dumb but it fixed my controller. Up and down wouldn’t work, then I did this and they work perfect. This is legit
Wow lol didn’t even watch the video before I saw this comment and it fixed it immediately
I remember blowing into game cartridges to make them work.. I knew this guy was speaking truth! #Blowgang
💀this actually works wth
Didn’t make it 30 seconds into the video, read this comment and fixed it
I had the same problem with up and down and I was so surprised it worked that easily
Holy shit man, thank you. Been dealing with this for months and was tired of it, and honestly used my xbox less. Your a life saver. I know it isnt a lot, but you've earned a lifetime subscriber!
Hey what method did you use in the video?
Wow. All those years we were blowing in cartridges for no reason, and this shit actually worked the first time. Thank you. Some dude sold me a used controller for $30 bucks. The drift was off, but this made the purchase a good deal rather than a ripoff.
Wow. I couldn't be happier to be so surprised. First solution fixed it immediately. Amazing, thank you!
Fr?!!
@@samhunter99 wait you tell me
Fixed my controller straight away with the first method. Thank you soo much
I've been suffering from stick drift for around a month now and by doing the blow and spin method 5 times my stick drift is almost gone! I'm gonna do it a few more times and I'll have it fully fixed! Thank you! Saved me £55
30 minutes later It starts AGAIN, Im not doing it every half hour, I have a new controller
How is it now?
@@nousername4824 The fix lasted 30 minutes, I bought a new controller
@@nousername4824Probably shit
What a plot twist
Well that actually made the drift worse.
dude thank you, my series x controller jusst started fucking up with the left stick constantly drifting up, blew into it and wiggled around and its good now, might need to invest in an air can though
Yeah mine too. Seems to be a flaw in the design. My regular old Xbox one s controller drifted too, but after a lot more vigorous use. Very minor too. The ol blow and wiggle trick worked on that. This time it isn't at all.
same bro. my left stick would randomly move and my second controller always moved up
took mine to my usual car mecanic shop and used the air compressor lol, got this drifting the first time on my 6 month old series controller, now it disapeared completly. Thanks for the tip :)
Got drift problem the other day. My controller has worked Like a charm the past months. I never dropped or smashed it on a surface. And two days ago the RS I belive just started to pull uppwards. The joystick itself is perfectly straight. Any ideas?
SAME
Wtf same

Same, any ideas to solve?
Just blew into the controller and it actually worked lmao. Thanks man
idk how it did
Same and I was about to buy a new controller. Clutch as fuck
Yo I think it comes from the analog rubbing against the controller causing those white flakes to clutter, you can protect it by using precision rings from KF
i blew Into mine and the drift just changed sides but 10x worse

wow it really works, it was very impressive, i used to leave my controller on my desk(after try this, not anymore), so now i can imagine the amount of dirt my controller got, thank u brother
The fix method fixed my drift, you’re a live saver man you have no idea how many controllers I have bought because of drift
Yeah I know Microsoft sucks for making a poor made controller
Yep switch joycons too…surprisingly the switch pro controllers almost NEVER get drift
Thank you mate, I realised how shit the stick drift is after going through 5 controllers in 2 years because of it, I was playing dayz and this guy 50meters off our base was in clear view, and I missed because of stick drift on my right stick, he flanked and shot at my mate, my mate luckily killed him but he shouldn’t have been in that position first
it happend to me on warzone
it could be my longest distance kill but xbox had other plans :(
Threw that air duster on there and that did the trick. Appreciate it, my man.
Holy crap! This actually worked for me! I own elites and barely used the stock controller. After less than probably 20 hours of use it started drifting.
THANK YOU!
20h? Bro Microsoft is being worse than wish controllers lol
This was clutch my dude!!
So far It works, gaming history repeating it self from back in the day, thanks for the video
Dude you are the man. Right stick drift was bugging out the last three days and the first method completely fixed it! good as new thanks for saving me some money
Then you're probably the only one who got this fixes with his methods
Blowing on my series x controller actually worked, i had to buy a new controller last time i had drift, nothing worked. It just started on this one so i wanted to fix it asap, i blew and it didnt work, then i went really close and blew as hard as i could, and now, i dont wanna jinx it, but its fixed. I used the alcohol method for my old one and it didnt work so i just threw it out, kinda regret it now bc i didnt try blowing.
My passes on fifa were going in the wrong direction, i walked off a cliff when one squad was left in fortnite, the nightmares from a few years ago were coming back. I watched so many vids and each one was exactly the same, but thank you. If none work for you, blow as hard as you can and it will eventually work. Took at least 10 attempts for me.
This deserves more likes
thank you so much man, I didn't put much faith in the first method, but I did it and it's working perfectly!
Is it just me, but this only happens on the new Xbox controllers, Ive a one s controller for 5 years and it’s never broke but I’ve also had a series x controller and started joystick drifting in the first couple months.
Yup. My series x controller is 5 months old and already has drift while my Xbox one remote is 6 years old and BARELY has any drift at all
to fix drift do what i did. (10$ at your local autozone or amazon)
1. Buy Air Mass Censor Flow
2. Apply on drift area (try to get it on the inside edges)
3. Let it dry and rotate the sticks
Great idea. Electronic cleaning might also work. I would suggest removing the battery and having it unplugged when you do this and give it some time to try before you add power to it
Saved me buying a new controller, thanks
Which method did you use?
@@CielRivailleLevi Blowing in the left stick, had to do it once a day for a few days but ever since it’s been fine
My new controller came with drift
Thanks dude! Reminds me of the old days with Nintendo games. Blowing and rising totally worked. At first it made it way worse. Did it again and boom! Fixed!
1st method worked great thanks man 100% great info
You really forced my mind into subscribing to you! I don't know what i would do without this video!!
Bravo to u man 👏👏 , seriously am totally amazed how easy the first method fixed my 2 month controller
I’ve always been an Xbox player. But my god they have the worst controllers ever
joycons are way worse
Thanks man, the 1st method fully fixed it.
thank you so much bro, games are my favourite thing of all time just sitting there playing with my friends but with stick drift it makes it harder to enjoy and play the games i like❤️
Thanks so much man The blowing and spinning method fixed it!
Tried the first method and it actually worked first try, this was really helpful so thanks 👍👍
I've been trying the alcohol on it but it's not working.
same. did u ever fix it?
I’d say if at this point it’s still broken just put a ton of drops on it. What’s the worst that can happen.
Wait, the blowing method actually worked..
Congrats man, you earned a like + sub.
Thank you so much saved me 60 bucks
Blowing out the sticks worked for me, thank you. My left stick had issues when pushing 'up' and lacked full range.
I did this, didnt work. Then I completely disassembled my controller and cleaned it out and it still didnt fix the insane stick drift.
Controller companies hate this video :D
I’ve tried the rubbing alcohol and my controller still drifts

Try blowing in your controler after rubing alcohol on it and just keep moving the joystick in circles for about 30 seconds

Omg no way blowing in the controller worked. I’ve been sitting on RUclips for hours trying to find a way to fix my controller. If only I found this genius sooner……
Wow that was a really unexpected but useful method
Almost spent 140 dollars on two controllers, this method saved both of them. Thank you bro, u got my respect.
Do you have to pull the joysticks up
@@theguy2913 no but you can if you want
@@eggags thanks 👍
I’ve had my series x for 23 days, never dropped or hit the controller and today the LS started drifting badly. Whenever I moved it up it doesn’t respond all the way so I basically can’t move forwards in any games. No clue what happened.
That’s exactly what’s happening to mine rn
@@Ethan.308 yea it only got worse, I just ended up using my old x box one controller. If you have warranty on it you can send it back and they give you a refurbished one
Same but mine is on my rs
Dude! Thank you so much 😭 I thought I was going to have to buy a new controller. Who knew blowing into the joy stick would work lol
I have bought 3 controllers in addition to the one it came with and sent all of them back at least twice these controllers are absolute shit. How is it 2021 and a simple joystick can ruin a $500 console?
The new xbox series controller? May I ask what the exact symptoms are? Apparently many people have this exact issue: Right stick drifts up even though the stick itself seem completely fine.
If it's as widespread as i thought then perhaps it's a mass defect or flaw in the design, I'll replace it with the older controller.
@@kenz2756 to be fair i am contributing it to the game i play that being fifa. It requires a wide range of motion on the left stick and pressing the stick all the way and swinging it eventually rubbing and scratching. The old controllers would do this but no so early on. I would use the old but the new controller feel is just much more appealing and reminds me that i have the new console.
@@blueaeagle11 So only the left stick then, not the right? Because for some reason it's very common for that new controller to drift upwards on the right stick. What direction does your stick drift to?
Exactly same I've had to return 2!!!!!!! So terrible
Do u get urs from amazon?
I'll be honest with you man. I can't believe this blowing method worked. The "up" direction on my left joystick, no doubt from constantly hitting up to run forwards in action games, was very unresponsive and in the windows game controller calibration screen I couldn't push it more than 30% of the way to the top of the square. Blowing into the crack instantly worked. I can't have moved any real amount of grime. Maybe it released (or balanced???) some internal buildup of static electricity or something. Anyway, it worked like magic against all odds. Even though it didn't make any sense. Thanks.
These new controllers are trash. Btw that alchohal wont hit the accelerometers that register stick movement because the black part you are putting it on is a shield that covers them and the edges of the black plastic are far from them. The blowing method is the best bet if debree got into there.
I've had my xbox series s for less than a month and barely use it. Both my controllers joystick drift is crap even tho I barely even go on it!
@@taput4175 yeah when I got my series x the controller went bad in 2 weeks too. I went on amazon and ordered 10 potentiometers for 7.99 and when I got them it only took 5 minutes to replace the bad one and it worked like new. Funny enough it's working better than the factory one xD
@@yoltsbp Thanks for the tip cuz I want trying to spend more money on controllers that should be working. Just bought some off of amazon!
How did your controller drift? Is it in the right stick constantly going up? Because apparently so many people have that exact same drift issue. Maybe I should just buy an older controller.
@@taput4175 all you need to do is replace the center piece not the entire green part. You pull back the top of it pull out the inner ring and replace the old inner ring with the new one. Be sure to use a cue tip to clean out where the ring was first.
it didn’t completely fix it but it definitely made it easier and better, thank you
You sir, are a babe #NoHomo
🤣
This really worked, at first when he said blow into your controller l thought it was stupid, but l did it and now my problems is resolved, Thx
Thanks 👍🏾
Lol ... it worked for me 👌🏻
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH I CANT EXPLAN HOW MUCH YOU HELPED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even just stick drift but I have my Xbox one controller and series s controller. My one controller has massive drift on right stick and series s controller has massive drift On right stick so I literally can’t play games with it. I have had terrible luck with headsets braking and have had to buy so many over just 4 years. My headset just broke and I couldn’t believe it so I tried everything to fix it. I finally plugged it into my series s controller and it started working again and I was thrilled but I would have to deal with the right stick drift. And your video somehow fixed it after my many attempts at fixing it. IM PROBLEM FREE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!
since i did that with alcohol, the controller no longer drifts but the left stick push-in no longer
thats on you, putting rubbing alchohol on your controller wont make it stop pushing in.
ya mine does the exact same but it wasn't because of the alcohol it just happened. like whatever game im playing i can push it in and it works but it no longer clicks it just pushes itself
Holy shit 😳 this dudes a god
why do all these tutorials on how to fix stick drift have someone showing a brand new controller like they bought a new one to fix their problem? hmmmm
Ik it’s bull shut
is it just me or do the new controllers get drift faster because before I got a series x controller the one that I had didn't get drift after 6 years
Thank you so much dude!
Blowing worked for me, thank you!
how do you get stiick drift on that stiff ass controller???
STFU
Hush ps fanboy
Blowing and rotating worked magic! Thankyou
my d-pad is drifting
What😂
Thank you soooooo much it worked by blowing into the joysticks i started having problems today that concerned me but now it all works again
1st one didn’t work. 2nd one didn’t work. Any other solutions?
Started playing Devil May Cry games and it started drifting badly. Thx man. Ya helped me.
my problem is different, the joystick itself rotates when I play games, I mean not in games, but the feeling of it in your hand, it goes around...idk how and why...I couldn't find anyone who got the same issue as me online or who explains how it can be fixed :(
Bruh ive been struggling for a month cus I couldn’t afford to get a new controller so been stuck playing monopoly plus and now after just blowing on it it works 🤦🏾♂️. So glad i came to RUclips before hitting the checkout button on xbox marketplace 😭
20 years later were still blowing our games lmfao. Thank you so much
Didn’t know blowing into it could make a difference. Thanks
my controller has a small stick drift problem and when i push the stick up my character walks slower than normal unless i press down on it to like sprint.
Thanks man! I dug my fingernails under it and got rid of it! I’ve been dealing with it about a month and it’s so refreshing to have it gone
Saddly didnt work for me, tried both options, which sucks since it was the limited 20 anniversary controller. Regardless, I see its working well with others soooo keep up the good work
Same :(
How has my xbox controller that i ve bought 5 years ago not drifting its ok but my new series s controller started drifting after 3 months
This actually worked, thank you so much
Love your vids have a nice day
Bro this vid just saved my life thank you so much bro ❤
thank you so much man! ive been struggling with for too long cause i thought is someting wrong inside and i got to open the pad
i can't believe the blowing actually worked, lmfao. thank you man.
Good TY the blowing tech worked you earned my like♥️
Dude, you just saved me 50 quid. Have a great weekend!
Thanks to you I fixed both my current controller and my old controller, tysm
Nvm new one broke again😊
@@formal4484 open it up and soak the crap out those green parts (potentiometers) with alcohol. Then blow it out with compressed air can and let it all dry. Alcohol won't damage electronics as long as you remove the battery before doing this! If that doesn't work then the potentiometers or spring in the stick is shot.
I remember when controllers were built to last like the older Xbox controllers, the new ones fall apart within months
Sad when my original Xbox 360 controller (from the consoles that had the Red Ring of Death) still has no joystick drift yet any new controller from the last 5-6 years do so in less than a year. This includes Nintendo, PS4/5 & Xbox One & Series.
This controller is absolute garbage, thank you for this video. First time playing on xbox again in forever and I did not miss the cheap controller design
Thanks mate you just saved £60 of my money definitely gonna like the video👍
I wanna tell you all the biggest problem of controllers, i don't know if it's a thing that "comes" along with the drift, but i have this problem and i cannot have a good aim anymore on any game. The problem is that the right stick is not at the center of the circle (when i move the stick to the right it stops a little bit to the right from the center, the problem is, if i have to move the analog to the left, now the stick is going to need to move to the center and then move to the left, so when i want to aim left i need to move the stick more than i need to do for the right) i hope you get what i'm saying
It’s also annoying when your playing a driving game, your camera goes under your car, and you crash
@@notrotom my biggest problem is with fps games, i just don't have a good aim like i once had.
Appreciate you man! Couldn’t figure it out, used the iso alc, and it’s back in business.
Thank you bro, you just saved me 70$ or whatever controllers are priced at these days lmao
Method one worked for me 👍🏼 Thanks for the tip 😁
I was about to take my controller and sell it to GameStop and this video stopped me from having to do that. Thank you
