It is, hell Gilgamesh is proof that it’s all connected seeing that every itteration of Gilgamesh in every game since the launch of ff5 is the same guy, he’s just constantly falling through different worlds due to being constantly pulled back and spit out of the void
It is connected it’s just some are different universes. Dissidia is probably the biggest example of this. Gilgamesh from V is a prominent example since he is cursed to go through different dimensions. Another example is VII being confirmed to take place centuries after X and X-2 thanks to an interview. This even means some worlds have the same mythos with the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythos being in the Lightning Saga and Type series.
I like the demo so far with the variety of different classes, the combat, and the mechanics, but for me at least the performance and graphics aren’t that great, it’s most notable when in the city area for those short missions
You unlock new classes as you get new weapon types and then you can level them up to unlock more Advanced Jobs, such as the Monk, Thief or Red Mage. The class unlocks are at the bottom of the various class skill trees. Some classes will require multiple other classes to reach down to those nodes before you can unlock them though. Ninja-which isn't available in the demo- needs both Samurai and Thief unlocking the 'Ninja' node for example.
