    In "Ryan Sheckler Notorious Kickflip War On Costco Gap" we head down to Mission Viejo, California to visit the illustrious "Costco Gap" with none other than the man himself, Ryan Sheckler. Not only does Ryan take us down memory lane for arguably the biggest kickflip skateboarding has ever seen but he also measures the spot at a staggering 5.5ft by 14ft and gives us a look inside his mental game during the epic battle. To our best knowledge, Ryan is the only person to step to the game to this day...and it's not hard to find. Despite the ollie taking him 6 tries, the kickflip only took 4! The ollie was seen in Oakley's "Our Life" and the kickflip premiered in Plan B Skateboards "Superfuture". What do you think...is this the biggest kickflip ever? The gnarliest kickflip ever? The best kickflip ever? This piece also contains clips from Plan B "True" as well as Red Bull Skate "Lifer". Speaking of wars, check out Ryan Sheckler’s “My War” on Thrasher Magazine. If you haven't yet, be sure to also check out Dave Bachinsky Vs El Toro 20 stair right here on STORIED Skateboarding. Also be sure to check out the "I Used To Skate" merchandise available in our store! Check out The Most Famous Kickflip full video!

It's been ages and is still there technically untouched... And still a sick clip for today skateboard standards

      Yeah I remembered watching that. Wanna say it was when he was talking about the Lyon 25 which I believe is 14 and some change. When u think of how broke off people got on Lyon it’s insane that this is a little bigger and he kickflipped plus walked away unscathed. I will say the difficulty isn’t all in the height tho, look at the Lyon attempts and see how fast those guys were pushing. Imagine standing at the top of a 25-stair and knowing you have to go as fast as you possibly can and try flying over that thing. Aurelien is the only one I known of that tried it and was able to walk away without getting hurt. Still absolutely insane that not a single other person has tried doing that Costco gap since Sheckler. Truthfully I think other guys look at that thing and it’s not that they don’t think they can do it but the risk just isn’t worth it. All u have to do is land a little off balance and end hi with an injury that takes u out of the game for a year or even permanently

    • @princequestly2218

      @@Oli_4sure the description has it measured at 14ft. It’s the Ollie over the fence that gave it 15ft drop. But then, if you’re clearing a 21 set, you’re ollieng that high anyway. It might not be the biggest kickflip because of that.
      Regardless of measurements, the simple fact NO ONE else has skated it tells you how fucking huge and scary it actually is.

    • @sharongreffin1715
      @sharongreffin1715 2 месяца назад

      hes holding the tape diagonally so hes not going to get an accurate measurement, hes also holding it a foot above the fence at the time he says "about 14 feet" so sounds like hes probably rounding up already and you have to take another foot off from his original claim since hes holding it a foot above the fence. not really sure how tall it is given all those variables which they messed up(possibly on purpose or possibly due to ignorance) but either way we dont have an accurate measurement. it does not look anywhere near the leap of faith though just eyeballing it.

    I’ve seen a lot of gnarly kickflips over the decades both on film and in-person but Ryan Sheckler Kickflip’ing Costco takes the cake. Perfect landing

      Alcohol abuse will do that. Bullying will turn some to alcohol abuse. The strongest overcome both! You can still see a little pain behind those eyes but it's fucking great to see Sheckler built like a brick shit house these days, loving fatherhood and still absolutely shredding!!

    Amazing piece again Storied!! Skate nerd content at its finest :) Definitely still holds up as one of the biggest ever kickflips....Bachinsky El Toro, Reynolds Davis gap, Decenzo that San Fran double set, and Sheckler Costco... they all seem in a league of their own.... Gerwer Wallenberg deserves honourable mention too

    I seen Sheckler at an event when I was a fresh teen and he was even younger and the dude just absolutely blew my mind. It was the first time Tony Hawk did a 900 in Australia and throught the whole event any time I checked to see where Tony was, he was without fail watching Ryan. This was just before he (Ryan) really started blowing up. I'll never forget it.
