Ryan really turned out as a great person. I was never one of his haters and always enjoyed watching his clean style. But back then there was this uncomfortable side of it, he was like that unknown guy who shows up at the skatepark and steals the show of everyone lol. Those days when skateboarding felt way smaller... without today's massive influence by the internet.

And just because he is in spotlight and is a badass skater, People want to say and bring up shit that has nothing to do with them, It all comes down to being a decent human being and being respectful to one another. It's unfortunate his parents split... But they would both be proud of the humble young man he has become. 😂 I remember looking at CCS magazines and having this guy as a 7 year old kick flipping some stairs!

Ryan is such a cool dude, man. I liked him when he was younger as an athlete and just the talent he has and the attitude he brought towards skateboarding; but now that he’s older I have so much respect for him as a person, too. Huge inspiration.

Always been one of my favorite skateboarders. I actually got in a pretty big argument with a couple of my friends back in the old days over life of Ryan. Some thought that you were like a crybaby and i got mad cuz the problems you had were the same as many others had except they didnt have a camera in there face. How ever we had the same discussion like 2 years later and everyone like, you were right, his a really good dude🙌🤩 now Im 35 years old and my son and daughter looked at solus on youtube yesterday☺️ I said that this one of my idols and they like, cool his is good☺️ Regards from 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🙌🙌😁

I remember watching the show and being in on a 3 way call with my GF and her BFF just talking about the show the whole time. Never once did i think he was soft.. I just wished I was in his shoes but as a kid you dont see whats really going on from his shoes.. glad the show and shit didnt fuck him up on a different level.. Ryan Idk if you read these comments but I wish you the best and i wish i couldve known better back then what they did to you to make a quick buck of your life problems. thanks for staying strong and being you at the end of the day no matter what. -Josh c

I met Ryan on an etnies tour in Wilmington DE around 2009/2010ish I believe. Everyone was skating the park including the etnies dudes, and I got to talk to Ryan in between runs, and was blown away with how humble and down to earth he was. He gave me props on the tricks I landed, would hype others up on their tricks as well… it just felt like a homie at the sesh. I was completely expecting this rockstar mentality, but was surprised to find out he’s a regular humble person.

One thing that really bothers me is that not only did the producers ask his mom to say things that would intentionally upset him... But more that she did it, at least that's what he's implying. That's sort of wild to me that you would do that to your child at the behest of a producer.
