Beautiful! One correction: the central propeller shaft in the real Titanic wasn't connected to an electric motor but to a steam turbine. Lego doesn't really have the parts for an accurate steam turbine so the gears are as close as you can get.

It was used primarily for ventilation for the lower decks. The smoke it did produce was not nearly as thick or dense as the other funnel’s because it was coming from the 1st Class Smoking Room (one of the only real fireplaces on the ship) and some of the kitchens. Other ships had to clutter their deck with many telephone shaped ventilation units in order to ventilate the ship properly, which as you can imagine isn’t the most practical for moving around on deck and doesn’t look very nice. Whilst yes, it may have been used for aesthetic purposes to place the Olympic Class vessels along with the other 4-funnel liners, that wasn’t it’s only role.
These lego expert sets are always so impressive, the insane techniques used to achieve details that would be impossible in traditional lego is just beyond me.
"the area called bunkers" is where you store the coal. The reason most of the ships at the time have black coloured hulls, is to hide the coal dust when filling the bunkers.

Your passion for the model is obvious since you were the one who suggested it. It’s definitely the greatest set I’ve seen and your is the best review. Psiaki is indeed a genius, but you gave him the inspiration! Thanks man!
Just built in the TC plate today! Awesome review and the set is indeed amazing. Much more a model than just a set as you mentioned. Many novel assembly techniques - and of course yellow light sabres!
Incredible stuff, as a Titanic enthusiastic and team member at Titanic Belfast this is incredible to see come to life! Also thank you so much for designing ship in a bottle I bought it a few days ago and looking forward to having it come. Maybe in the future if I have the space I may get this model in tribute to my team in Titanic Belfast!
Our local stores finally got some in stock today, so I managed to snag one. Just finished the first 3 bags - found it kind of neat when you get to the stage where you build the bow port windows, the starboard side is connected with green connecting plates and the port side, with red connecting plates which would be respective to the correct colour depicting port/starboard. Even though these pieces will be completely hidden with the hull pieces, I found it kind of neat that they used the appropriate colours for this step - I'm assuming it was done intentionally for designing purposes.
Amazing! Tiago this speaks volumes to the culture, respect, and values of the Lego team. Congratulations to you for having an influence on this incredible set!
3:33 it would’ve been nice to see the emergency life boats in those spots. Now the ship only has 18 lifeboats, but it’s alright because the amount of detail they put into this!
Wow! Just Wow! Amazing set, amazing review, and can we just take a moment to appreciate the editing skills! Keep up the amazing content Tiago! PS: Loved to see your reaction to the easter egg!
On the Forward mast, there was actually a crane built on it that would be lowered to lift heavy loads that the other cranes on board the titanic could not. In the titanic movie from 97 the crane is used in one of the first shots to lift the car onto the ship. When the crane was put away it would sit flush against the mast. Very nice Lego model
To be honest, I like the typewriter elements for the name plate. It's simple, it's classy, ang gets the job done without distracting from the ship itself.
Just wanted to get this info out there, that central shaft was never powered by a piston engine. My guess is that the "gearbox" you thought was a electric generator was actually the turbine that powered the central shaft. Amazing accuracy!
I learnt this later but yeah the manual makes you think it's the generator as it'tells you how much electric it produced and then you build that part but then its pretty obvious when you think about it as it's not connected to an engine. The generators where connected to the left and right prop shafts of the main engines.
@@martinblanch5828 The generators were not driven by the prop shaft / main engines. They had their own steam engines - three cylinder engines if I recall correctly. Otherwise it would be very unpractical.
Another very interesting thing to note, is that idk if it’s because of the 200 scale, or intentional, but you can see at each cross-section that the levels inside the ship perfectly line up with the outside port hole windows
Great review... Wish I could afford this set haha. From my sailing days, correct me if I am wrong... I think the location of the TC shield tombstone plate is significant as well. If I remember correctly, connecting over the keel at the stern like that, was known as the 'coffin plate' 😉

This is what I've always wanted with lego, massive builds that are well over thousands of pieces. Course I can barley fit the ninjago city gardens in my room so there's no chance of me getting this to go anywhere lol but it'd be nice to see bigger stuff in the future.
The engineering involved in creating the set is simply staggering. The thought gone into the construction and details is testament to the level of talent over at Lego!
I waited since I was about 10 years old, when I really got into Titanic, for Lego to release this set. Based on your review, I think I'm sold on buying this as a Christmas project next to Cobi's model of the same ship. On mentioning the nameplate, I had an idea: add MGY - the ship's Marconi tag - and 401, the ship's hull number (her older sister Olympic was the 400th hull built by Harland and Wolff) Other such specs would be added as well
After seeing this set for a few months, I came around to your video and decided to make the purchase, what an awesome tribute you got. I love the Ship in the Bottle idea as well and I bought it immediately upon release. Really enjoy your vids, thanks!
You are absolutely right@@j_b6735 I don't know why I thought it at the time... But it seems that I was wrong with the storage. It was only for aesthetic and ventilation.

I have longed for a Titanic LEGO set since I was a kid. I didn’t realize there would be any video reviews out yet and so seeing this review was the highlight of my day.
Did I choke up with emotion when it came to the TC easter egg tile? Yes I did. That’s just incredible.
You and me together! :')
Man, my mother would love this, ever since me and my sister started playing the piano she just wanted us to play titanic songs. 😂
Come to think of it, a piano offers perfect display area for the set. ;)
@@joydivision1976 yep
Awesome set! So cool that LEGO remembers you by giving you your own tile to put into an wonderful build. Thanks for the review! 🙂
You're very welcome! LEGO is awesome!
I bought some of this TC pieces to put in my city layout. Such a cool homage in the Titanic from your former colleagues!
I know right?! I was screaming when I found out :D
Honestly I kinda like the type writer buttons used for the name plate, it surprisingly fits in really well with the aesthetic of the ship.
Does it come with a mini submarine 👀👀
And a logitech controller scaled to Lego size 😂
Non-jokingly, no, but that would be funny 💀💀
Even though these pieces will be completely hidden with the hull pieces, I found it kind of neat that they used the appropriate colours for this step - I'm assuming it was done intentionally for designing purposes.
they should make a lego set of the titan sub
Amazing! Tiago this speaks volumes to the culture, respect, and values of the Lego team. Congratulations to you for having an influence on this incredible set!
Love how they used the type writer pieces for the plaque, it fits nicely for the timeline.
I saw this at my local lego store and it caught my eye right away. Thank you for the thorough and detailed video. Beautiful!
3:33 it would’ve been nice to see the emergency life boats in those spots. Now the ship only has 18 lifeboats, but it’s alright because the amount of detail they put into this!
Finally, lego made the Titanic, i never thought this day would come
You gonna ram it into a Lego Iceberg...?!
Wow!
Dude that's such a lush Easter egg and an incredible build. Beautiful build and design. You must be so proud
So, you are connected to this set as well, very cool! How many sets can we still expect with your hidden initials? :D
This is the last one sadly! But a proper goodbye that I wasn't even expecting!!
That is correct. That's also why the center propeller could only rotate clockwise (making the ship move forward), as the turbine was "uni-directional"
@@DanielDybing thanks
Ok...
Omg.. that TC tile makes me love Lego even more, so nice of them ❤
Getting that Easter egg must have been the best feeling ever!
Another very interesting thing to note, is that idk if it’s because of the 200 scale, or intentional, but you can see at each cross-section that the levels inside the ship perfectly line up with the outside port hole windows
I wonder why this got recommended to me now. Funny.
Great review... Wish I could afford this set haha. From my sailing days, correct me if I am wrong... I think the location of the TC shield tombstone plate is significant as well. If I remember correctly, connecting over the keel at the stern like that, was known as the 'coffin plate' 😉
Very cool fact
Wow! Hahahaha
Wow! Great Review, as an older adult returning to Legos from when I was a young child, I am drawn to those types of sets and your reviews make purchasing a particular set instantly worth my time to watch! Thank you for the reviews, opinions and attention to detail to explain and cover the most salient parts of the sets! Plus, thank you for your creativity while back at Lego to envision such a set! Keep up the great work!
Getting this set for my birthday so excited
I've hoped for something like this for so long, that it's hard to believe that it's real!
This is what I've always wanted with lego, massive builds that are well over thousands of pieces. Course I can barley fit the ninjago city gardens in my room so there's no chance of me getting this to go anywhere lol but it'd be nice to see bigger stuff in the future.
I've nowhere to put it but I'm still gonna buy hahaha
Next is the Titan submarine Lego set!
The engineering involved in creating the set is simply staggering. The thought gone into the construction and details is testament to the level of talent over at Lego!
Awesome review! My son and I will be getting this set soon and will be by far our biggest build yet!
Holy crap, that's all I can say, this is absolutely freaking insane!
I know right?!!!
I waited since I was about 10 years old, when I really got into Titanic, for Lego to release this set. Based on your review, I think I'm sold on buying this as a Christmas project next to Cobi's model of the same ship.
On mentioning the nameplate, I had an idea: add MGY - the ship's Marconi tag - and 401, the ship's hull number (her older sister Olympic was the 400th hull built by Harland and Wolff)
Other such specs would be added as well
Awesome review as always. Love the fact that even other "Lego RUclipsr" actually recognized the "TC" gravestone :)
After seeing this set for a few months, I came around to your video and decided to make the purchase, what an awesome tribute you got. I love the Ship in the Bottle idea as well and I bought it immediately upon release. Really enjoy your vids, thanks!
That's awesome for you the TC tile was in there! It's awesome that LEGO was clearly thinking of you! So much respect for your channel and LEGO!
You getting the Titan expansion when it releases??
The 4th funnel wasn't only for aesthetic purposes, but also for ventilation and storage.
Storage?
@@Skylab._73 ventalation from the kitchen
I don't think they stored storage inside the funnel.
You are absolutely right@@j_b6735
I don't know why I thought it at the time... But it seems that I was wrong with the storage. It was only for aesthetic and ventilation.
If you think about it…Titanic also starts with a T and ends with C. That TC tile means you’re really inseparable from this amazing lego set!
I'm from Liverpool and it is really cool that my city is connected to the Titanic !
fantastic video. first time viewer. i loved it. ill be watching more of ur content. thx man. 🙂
Wonder if it floates and does it come with an iceberg?
A true model of beauty. If only my wallet had the capacity to get a lego set this big.
Sweet mother mercy... This looks absolutely amazing.
I love the amount of detail you put into the review, too. It's a real testament to the detail in the set itself.
So happy for you that your former co-workers honored you with that special TC piece. You are now officially IMMORTAL! What a thrill that must be.
*This was a truly incredible Christmas gift, my family had got this for me, and while it was a less then enjoyable building experience, I am glad it is finished*
Nappa: What's the piece count on this set?!"
Vegeta: "It's Over 9,000!!!"
This set literally costs 20x the price of the Titan’s controller 😂
Horrible but true
Can we submit a Lego Ideas Titan sub?
When are they doing the submarine add-on?
LMAO
I'm building this set now and it cracks me up that adding your initials is it's own instruction number
