    The price on these more advanced sets is ridiculous, but I really appreciate the attention to detail that the designers over at LEGO put into this one.

      It's a lot of money, but I think that given its size, over 9000 pieces, and being such an iconic model, it's actually good value compared to some of the smaller sets that do seem overpriced. Wish I could get my hands on one, they are proving difficult to find!

    Damn, as a kid I’ve always wanted Lego to make an official titanic set. Looks like they’ve finally made one, after all these years. Gonna save up for one, hopefully it doesn’t get discontinued before I can buy it.

      That would be a dumb idea. Mold would grow from the inside because no air is drying the water after you take it out even an hour later so, you're right that he shouldn't put it in the water.
      That would be so difficult drying every room in that ship

    My mom sent me this set out of nowhere and it confused me, but I love it nonetheless. The build was quite long and at some points repetitive, but once I recognized a pattern (mainly in the porthole areas of the ship), I could easily fly through bags and such. Truly a magnificent and enormous set!

    Fun fact: at the time the titanic set sail the flag only had 46 stars. And the flag on this model also features 46 stars. The fact that they payed that attention to detail makes me mad when they fuck up Star Wars stuff

      @@SupersuMC New Mexico and Arizona joined in January and February of 1912, a few months before the ship sank in April of the same year. The flag just hadn’t been updated yet to show 48 stars, as there is sometimes a design process to decide how to layout the additional stars, or even a delay in getting the updated flags out. But at the time of sinking there were 48 states. Lastly, Alaska joined in January of 1959, and Hawaii later the same year in August.

      Well the flag is just printed, so it’s not hard to find a correct one. They fucked up a lot of actual details though.
      Where is collapsible C and D ???
      Where is the supporting beam on the rear mast ?
      Completely wrong porthole counts in the bow
      Missing gangway door details, cause gangway D door totally did not play a factor in accelerating the sinking
      Collapsible A and B look very out of shape
      The list goes on with the amount of inaccuracy…

    Epic set. Fantastic speed build. I think the only set that compares in length is the Saturn V. I imagine this is quite possibly the heaviest Lego set assembled as it's surprisingly very densely built. Definitely on my list for 2023.

    I did the math and this set comes out to be in 1/200 scale, would be great to see it side by side with the trumpeter 1/200 scale model kit.

      The Cobi model is 1:300, so it's only 2/3 as long. At 1/3 of the price and part count.

    That’s amazing but there’s two things I want to ask - 1) it looks like the flags are stickers - why doesn’t Lego paint them making an great set even better ? …. and 2) when will Lego make an five thousand piece Iceberg to go with it ?

      The flags aren't actually stickers, they are flexible plastic sheets. To put them on the set, there are small holes punched into the plastic sheets that can be slotted onto lego bar elements. The other pieces that appear to be stickers are printed.

    If anyone is wondering why the peaces are all different colours like yellow and blue and just colours that don’t fit. It’s cause it’s cheaper to grab peaces from other sets that get masses produced more then a special set like this Titanic so anything that dose not need to be coloured the ships colours it’s more easy to throw in those different colour peaces then having to recolour every peace

      I think the more important reason is that it's easier to find specific pieces if they're color coded. If *every* piece was white, black, or red, parts would be hard to find when all mixed together, which is especially a problem with a set that has over 9,000 pieces. But if you need one certain part for the construction, it's way easier to pick out all the blue ones and narrow it down. They're not visible when the set is fully assembled, so it doesn't matter. This is a technique that Lego has used for years.

    People claiming the build is repetitive. Watching a build video dismisses this assumption. The various pre-assembly modules prevent any real repetition. I mean, just look at the video. If you don't like it or can't afford it fine but don't bag on something it is not

    How long does it actually takes to build this model? Funny enough, it was this video that introduced me to Lego’s Titanic and fell in love with it. Unfortunately being on disability, I couldn’t buy this model for another year, but searching on the internet I finally found a MOC Titanic model set, which is basically Lego but without the logo but a third of the price, and man, I’m so excited. Anyway a big thank you to the guy in this video

      On the video at about 1:30 it says 10hrs 7 mins ! That's insane ... 900 pieces per hour?? I built the Millennium Falcon UCS (7,500 pieces) in around 20 hours i.e. near 400 pieces per hour and I'm no amateur! I have this Titanic set to build so it'll be interesting to see, but my guess for mere mortals it's gonna take between 22-25 hours.

    my parents actually said i could get this if i saved up my money, which i did. it took me a week to build due to my dedication to prove my friend wrong who said i couldnt do it, and i did it! probably my biggest achievement as a 12 year old :)

    So, I have finished everything in boxes 1 and 2 and have not yet started box 3. I cannot get the two parts to snap together at all. It’s really weird.

      take the bow off and you will see the compass piece in the place of the clock and that whole middle section is the grand staircase.

      No. That was taken up by structural support. It does have the skylight, though.

      The reason for the colors is that it helps contrast the large amount of the same color for the interior imagine building the entire ucs falcon with only light grey it would be hard to tell which studs go where in the instructions

      That’s actually a steal considering the number of lego bricks in it. Average market value of a Lego brick is $0.10
      With around 10,000 bricks in it they could have charged $1000 but chose not to.

    Lego would make maquets of others boats cheapest than the Titanic and with some details' similarities of the set. It could be cool and I can be interested
