Double Trouble - 2 Tours Thrash to Penzance with Cornish Mazey Day Railtours - 2024

- A short trip to two of my favourite filming spots in Cornwall, for two Cornish Mazey Day tours, with two diesels on each - too many twos! Visiting the Duchy, under the Statesman Rail brand, were two LSL Class 47 diesels, D1924 ‘Crewe Diesel Depot’ & 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer'. Leading the Pathfinder Tours train, were two Class 50 diesels, 50007 'Hercules' & 50049 'Defiance'. Both tours ran within thirty minutes of one another; chasing the tours on paper was possible due to the completion of the A30 dualling works between Carland Cross and Chiverton, however, Cornwall in the summer, and the A38 in particular, is a traffic and accident paradise! Nonetheless, shots are taken at:

00:10 50007 & 50049 at Moorswater Viaduct
01:05 D1924 & 47712 just behind
02:21 47712 & D1924 at Trenowth
03:34 50049 & 50007 glide past Trenowth

Awesome video. I saw them at some new vantage points I haven’t filmed at before including hayle bridge just south of the station and wheal busy crossing in Scorrier. Both tours were amazing
Wow, that thrash at 0:43 is certainly something!
And the 47s thrashing as well! Very nice. Saw the 50s at NTA and the 47s at Teignmouth, with a lot of clag from the latter!
Trenowth is a good spot . I saw both at parkway with 50042 on a test run .
