Fantastic Roy, what I'd give to be able to go back and enjoy journeys like that all over again. Thank heavens people like you captured it to remind us of the happy days.
Absolutely wonderful footage Roy. Thanks for bringing back the memories. Your brilliant filming certainly captures this gruelling and challenging line through cornwall, for the locomotives and crews alike. Awesome. The last time I did that run was behind a `52 in 1974 from Exeter........I recall every detail, returning early evening behind a Peak !
Just watching this and it brings back memories of things we all used to take for granted. I'm glad someone actually took the trouble to video it and you have edited the journey well. You have, however, put a caption on there about the train leaving Liskeard although it was actually leaving Bodmin Parkway.

Back in the days when we had 'proper' trains!

I think that’s me checking out the cab upon arrival! Great video. Brings back lots of memories.

Another excellent video. I'm making a model of Penzance station based in 1985 and this video has helped a lot. Thanks.
Glad it has been of help to you.
Very big thank you Roy, great memories brought alive.
Brilliant sound quality! VHS really did capture sound very well.
Many thanks!
Loved the 50s I remember travelling on the Cornish Riviera non stop from Exeter to Paddington behind one several times
Great memories, thanks.
I've used this Engine for shunting at Pz when the Pilot was in for maintenance.
Went to Penzance that year on a golden rails holiday
It's a shame we now have to travel everywhere by DMUs or EMUs
Yes Dirk, Bring back the real trains.
So Peaks did work to Penzance then. I was never sure if they did
this is the proof Andrei.
Brilliant, any idea of the date in 85,summer obviously.
