Another gem Roy. Hard to believe the 58s are gone as are MGR trains. I remember the 58s being built and I once saw all 50 on a single day visiting about 10 depots in the car including Shirebook
Another great trip down memory lane Roy. Loved all the mainline action. The close ups of the Class 58s were superb, and great shots of loco movements at the junction. Thank you. Vivian.
Thanks for posting. Brilliant footage and a joy to watch the different type of freight trains. Superb close ups of Class 58s and different liveries as well! The beat video this year so far.
Hello Roy, I'm never one to leave a comment on every video I watch but these remind me so much of my train spotting days. Being a lad of this area it's so sad to see how the traffic has demised over the years. Nowadays I feel like I never spent enough time wandering around places like Shirebrook, Clay Cross junc, Westhouses, Tibshelf sidings etc; should have taken far more photos and notes! This is an excellent video and many thanks for sharing.......now whereabouts is my camera and note book?
Loved this video. Just looked up some if the locos featured: 47482 - built 10/12/1964, withdrawn 20/10/1993 - Disposal date is unknown 58025 - built 05/03/1985, no other info 58028 - built 19/04/1985, withdrawn 31/07/2010, scrapped 09/08/2010 37069 - built 17/07/1962, still in service 37517 - built 05/06/1961, withdrawn 31/01/2008 31457 - built 28/12/1961, withdrawn 18/02/2000, disposed of 30/11/2002 Info from railUK www.railuk.info Excellent footage given the age - Thanks for up loading

Reminds me of a day bunked from school in 1983, Reading to Sheffield, 2p bus to Tinsley then on to Shirebrook! Excellent, thanks for sharing 👍
Haha, awesome to see everyone bouncing around in that bubble car :) thanks again for the video
A trip down memory lane for me!
4:26 those tractors are going for it. Expected them to drift round the curve there.
Really good footage of the 58s at work; thanks.
Great video - and look just how run down everything is!
Britain in 1990. Battered by ten years of Thatcher
Thanks for sharing Roy, much appreciated

Used to love that spot at Clay Cross , sadly fenced off years ago.
I have not been there for years Phil so was not aware that it had been fenced off, but not at all surprised.
Great work Roy. Always a pleasure to watch.
Worked as a train guard at Shirebrook in the 70s thought it would never end, Sadly it did.
Tony Robinson did you know my granddad Bernard Betts? He was a train driver based at Shirebrook West
Yes I knew Bernard good chap worked many a coal train to Toton with him good times being part of a train crew in 70s.
Excellent vid Roy some classic shots there cheers Steve ,,
Thanks Steve.
The train at 4:06 really bounces around when riding along the track. I wonder if the driver nicknamed it Zebedee?
Brilliant thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Pleased you enjoyed the Video Trev, I think we all wish we had taken more interest and photo's at that time.
Brave shot at 12:56 - those bulls do not look very friendly
I wore a red Mac and got chased!
As below, awesome
Got 56010 there in October very wet and overcast day
Cows are thinking "What? You never seen a train before?"
Yes Brian, always interesting to watch how the animals react !
Nice lot of noise, clag and thrash in these videos! Nice to look back at the 90's

Thank you Malcolm for the Info on the loco's, very interesting.
Thank you for this excellent video-why were 1980s built class 58s withdrawn with relatively little mileage/wear?
Good question!
They were taken over by Americans who, hating everything British, immediately bought huge numbers of EMD locos
track dosent look all that flat around there
I wonder if 3x class 20 could have done the work of the 2x class 37's.... Anyone know?
were those passenger rail cars Pacers?
they say if you work in the railroafds you become train man.
Did 56110 SPAD the shuntlight?
I think the ground disc is for crossover moves, as that was setting back on the main it was probably hand signalled
@@AndreiTupolev I guess there would be a 'limit of shunt' in place to allow those movements.
