Kamalei did so good. All of me was very passionate for his voice. His voice is so lovely! The best performance for him so far! Even the play off pass artists loved his voice

They both have killer voices but maddi got that star quality you're just born with. She has to make it through.
I don't think she's born with it. I think everything she does, is decided upon, and then rehearsed a thousand times---there's nothing organic, about it.
Asher was born with star quality---all he has to do is stand there, and sing and emote, and most fall to their knees!!!

You can see their wheels turning in their little heads: "First I'm gonna walk this way, then I'm gonna sling my hair around, then I'm gonna throw my arm up, then I'm gonna walk this way, and wiggle my but, then I'm gonna close my eyes, here, and then I'm gonna open them to see if the coaches noticed that really cool thing, I just did"---it's textbook, and pathetic, and people who do it, aren't secure in that their vocals are enough, and/or, it's pure manipulation, which is dishonest, and there are people who fall for it, every season!!!
Kamalei is a great singer and has his own style. Maddi Jane is Superstar quality that is unmatched this season. I'll be surprised if she doesn't win the whole thing.
Maddi showed up, showed out, and popped off. This was a phenomenal performance. She delivered vocally and showed a ton of stage presence and star quality.
It's like he was signing to God!!! That's the most gospel version of that song I've ever heard!

I still think she could be a lot better. To me, she is 70% to what her potential should be. She can do a lot better. If or when she gets to the live performance, she needs to pick a song and absolutely make it her own. This performance sounded so similar to Dua Lipa's rendition until the ending.
Agreed and she is someone Chance would love to produce. This was her best performance I've heard from her so far honestly. This performance was absolute perfection.

Maddi has an amazing tonal quality with a bright smile to her tone. Love her energy and playfulness, but still cool and confident. Love those high, extended notes, great delivery.
Really? No tone. She sings from her mouth, not her chest. It's tight, thin, reedy, and shouty.

MADDI breath support is incredible. It’s like she’s seasoned. I think she might win cause she got that christina grimmie / Tori Kelly vibe to her.. she can rap and sing and dance… we need another popstar. Plus she was on Ellen.

Soulful performance by kamalei
Two very different performances. Maddi just has that super star energy to her, and Kamalei is very soulful and heartfelt. Chance made the right choice going with Maddi, however Kamalei deserved that steal.
Maddi Jane is one of a kind. I could listen to her all day long. As far as i'm concerned... she's the #1Best of the best !

Kamalei singing John Legend, all heart, beautiful tone. Him bouncing thru it was too cute, possibly trying to feel his way through the emotion? Idk. It worked for him. He did most of the falsetto moments in head voice, lotta range.

This is the first time Maddi got me from the first note until the end. Her tone was so well explored in this song which is weird cause I wouldn't say this is great song choice. She was pretty consistent. Kamalei gave a really pure and beautiful vocal performance. Both were great and deserved to stay.

Maddi is a star no doubt about it. She attracts people not just through singing but performing. Takes a lot of work to get to that level of comfortableness she just has that start power easily.

Maddi's confidence is all about to give her edge. It was risky choice as such songs are on high tempo wordy breathy and can go pitchy yet manage with her charisma n good attitude. She won this knockout for me. And other hand the guy have given a warmth vocal performance.

It's sorta hard to choose, because I like Maddi's sassiness---but, she was a little pitchy. I love the crystal clear and smoothness of Kamalei's voice, and I think I would say he was the most consistent, throughout the song.

I always wince when people pick uptempo dance numbers OR songs done by the coaches, but I was pleasantly surprised on both of their parts. Maddi’s energy fed her technique, and she did a great job at showing her tone and range even with a dancey song. Kamalei just sounded like perfection, and I loved how he felt the groove of the song inside.
