Winder Police Officers Work Hard and Train Hard

DID YOU KNOW: Winder Police Officers often average 4-5 times the amount of annual training that is required of them by the state of Georgia. Beginning in February, Winder Police officers will attend classroom training one day per month for the next 4 months.
Both in person in the classroom and at the firearms range, we teach a variety of topics, such as:
Autism Awareness
DUI Investigations and Prosecution
De-escalation Tactics
CPR and Advanced First Aid
Vehicle Pursuit Training
Firearm Qualifications
In addition to the classroom training, we also require all the officers to take online training, such as:
Ethics and Off-Duty Conduct
Prisoner Transports
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
Evidence Handling and Collection
Human Trafficking
Gang Awareness
