Thank you for this video! It helped me undertand how the feature worked. But to answer your question; I don't know. Everything here needs to be set up manually. It's inside Asana, yet it doesn't integrate with the system at all. The only advantage I see in using this instead of a spreadsheet is that it provides the names of the resources and projects. However, with a spreadsheet, I could at least have more complex formulas or scripts in place. I appreciate that they are considering this feature, but it is not usable yet.

Great hack! Will try it out 🎉

Thanks - this could help for future forecasting. My big need is to deal with varying allocations over time without putting in different chunks. For example, someone may be 10% in January and February, but then jump to 25% in March for quarterly reporting, then back down to 10% in April and May, etc.

I couldn't agree more! I've heard that from a few different people since the new feature came out. More granular effort tracking would be great!

Couldn't you just change their allocation at the project level for that particular duration in the capacity planning view? Or am I missing anything here?

Hi thanks for sharing this video, pretty helpful.
Would you know if I could use the Asana feature showed in your video for future planning for resources, who do not have a paid license in Asana? Our core team (PMO), which is working with Asana is around 25 people but we would like to use the capacity planning tool for the whole org, even though those people won't interact with the tool and won't get a license for it.
As an additional information, I do not need to have the actual names of the resources in the Asana --> Genric roles (i.e. SAP specialist, Finance, ...) would do the trick for us.
    Thank you in advance.

Great question. I hope that Asana provides this feature. If they ever roll out placeholder roles, then yes, you’ll be able to do this. That would be a game changer!
Glad you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching!
