Great inspirational video. I have similar idea and this is way easier
@@tartanclips2635 glad it helped you. Simple is always better
Killer video brotha! Thanks for the support 😎
Fantastic design. I'm going to take inspiration and apply it to my 2003 Land Cruiser Prado 90 series here in England. Many thanks for the video.
I’m glad you were inspired by the simple design.
Looks like a great design. And this way you get to use your middle row seats if you ever need to. Fantastic work!
Exactly. Don’t want to lose the functionality of the middle row
@@CruisinMiles absolutely!
SWEET. I'll be doing the same footprint shorter to get a kitchen in. On the list. Which as an 80 owner you know is long and never ending... Safe travels.
Ohhhh…. The list… lol.
Safe travels to you as well. Would love to see how that turns out
@@CruisinMiles Me too! I work for Dometic and have access to all sorts of overlander product. I don't want the platform to be a hassle when in "daily driver mode" so we'll see how it all goes.
@@LostandFoundTravel Nice! Just pulled the trigger on a budget fridge/freezer… would not mind having a dometic at all though.
I have some plans to upgrade this platform soon though.
I wish I had seen this before I did my build. Great idea 👍🏾
I'm building my 80. Thank you for your time and sharing quality information.
No problem! Hope it works out for you. What year 80?
Can I get the link or spelling to the maker of the seat blocks.
@@dfox344 SolveFunction.com
He 3D prints them now. No longer made of wood.
@@CruisinMiles thank you
Man I love this platform. I am thinking about buying one from Chris as well. I'm down in San Diego so he's local for me. The only thing stopping me is my wife wants to keep the third row seats for now.
Dope … very informative
I wish I had seen this before I built mine. Such a good idea 👍🏾
I appreciate that you liked the idea. All credit goes to @dirtcruiser though. I’m a child when it comes to wood working.
I see 80 I sub. Fellow 94’ fzj80 owner.
Lol same bro thanks
nice
Thank you
Great video man! Christian did a great job!
Nice platform! Do you have a link to the sleeping platform block?

Any chance you’d share the height for us who live far away from CA?
Of course. I had mentioned it in the video, but yes, the overall height of the platform is 12.25” inches
What wood did you use and what size of wood did you use? Thanks. Learned alot!
I couldn’t tell you what kind of wood and what size… it’s a secret. Just kidding. I don’t know that stuff lol. I’ll have to contact the builder and find out for you. I’ll get back to you.
@dirtcruiser wanna chime in?
@@CruisinMiles @aaronsimpson8410 yo sorry I'm just now replying to this! I used 3/4'' all around
Hey bro, what do you recommend to “bulletproof” your rig. I have a 91 LC and I just want it to be reliable “daily driver”
Well have you started to baseline the truck first?
Hey Mate, how did you make the blocks that prop up the rear seats to be level..? Did you order them online..?
I ordered them from SolveFunction.com
They actually sell them in 3D printed versions now.
But It shouldn’t be too hard to make your own
@@CruisinMilesAwesome thank you
Six feet to the lip where the headrest starts or all the way to the top of the headrest? I am 6' 7" and curious how it would fit me
All the way to the top of the headrest.. 6’7” might be too tall lol. You’d need to extend this to suit you. I’m 5’8.
Do you think you can fit a 6’8 platform in the 80 series?
What's the width of the platform
43.5w 41.5 deep and 12.25'' tall
@@dirtcruiser is the are the depth and height including the flip out extensions or just the main box? thank you so much!
