Thanks to Matt. Appreciate the C4 tour and info. Agree. We are the custodians of the good cars we have. Always upgrade, restore, improve and maintain the 4 wheel legacies.
I'm 54 and the purchase of my '93 Ruby Red convertible cured my midlife crisis as soon as I signed the title. It is a great chick magnet...real hippie chicks now in thier mid to late 60's love it! Still the best bang for the buck! The rich older Cougars are going to eat you young virile bucks up when you drag main in those C4 dream boats! :)
Don't be surprised if you see stud muffin Matt drive up in a new C8! If you do you will know he just scored a wealthy Cougar Sugar Mamma and she upgraded his C4.
One thing to note. The digital dash has polarized coating on the gauges. They tend to fade. It happened on my tach where I couldn’t read the gauge. It’s an easy fix by buying polorizing sheets that cost about $5. You will need to rotate the sheet to get the best view and cut it to fit.
Old OE injectors are a huge problem . Especially ones from the 80's and early 90's . Not compatible with fuels containing ethanol. Replacing them is usually best . Cars that get driven and maintained are usually better than as drivers than those that sat incorrectly stored.
Kurt, Thanks for introducing Matt to your channel and his recently purchased corvette . His looks really original and those mags suit the car so well. The C4 may be the least expensive of the all the corvette redesigns( except for the Grand sport and ZR1 ) although compared to other makes and models of sports cars out there ( ex : nisson 300zx) it still looks better and has better performance then many others of the same period. I recently purchased a C4 In good condition and I love it. Yours in yellow with dark tinted windows looks great. Keep up the great videos.
My dad just gave me his 84 C4 with 96k kilometers (60k miles).. light grey colour. Im stoked to get it on the road tmrw. Its 100% (minus a bit of wearing).. I need to do the weatherstripping aswell as take a look at the hatch release not working when you press the yellow button in the center console..
@KurtWinters there's a factory install release "cable" to the 'right' (when sitting in car) of the latch.. found that out in someone else's video where he accidentally pulled on some wires to the 'right' when looking back at the latch. Hard for normies to remember left = driver and right= passenger side
Thanks Matt. I really appreciated you sharing your knowledge and experience on what to look for when purchasing a C4 Corvette. I will apply the information that you provided .
@@KurtWinters Thanks for the info, I really want one....but I'm a few inches taller than you (that is my curse, or perhaps blessing with regards to car ownership). I have sat in the C5 and they are quite roomy, but I like the style of the C4 more. Oh well, maybe it is for the better. Cool channel, thanks for the content!!!
I came across this video last week. And I never got a chance to watch the whole thing. And I happen to own a corvette myself: an 1987 automatic since May of this year. But the car had been sitting for 10 years. The dealer I bought it from said he only put about 50 miles on it from those 10 years. And because of it, I need a whole new set of brakes for the front AND back. But I managed to read a comment a couple minutes ago about the fuel injectors. That in which leads me to ask you: what kind of gas treatment should I use for my corvette? I'm going to put gas treatment in the tank every 2 or 3 fill ups. And I usually use the regular old gas treatment for any car. Can I use the brand x or use the good stuff?
@@KurtWinters thanks for the suggestion. I actually bought 2 different gas treatments. 2 bottles of gas treatment (super concentrated) for cars with over 75k miles and the B12 Chem Tool from which I bought earlier today. Whenever the brakes get done, I will put the B12 Chem Tool first in my vette when I do a filler-up at my local Family Express when the time comes.
@@KurtWinters but the B12 Chem Tool is a 15oz bottle. And when I do my first fill up, do I use the whole container? Cause I never once used B12 Chem Tool. Or do I use a 1/3 at a time? Cause regular gas treatment bottles, like the ones I told you for cars with 75k plus, are 5.25 ounces.
use the entire bottle, all at once. ALSO for really clogged fuel systems, only fill up a quarter Tank, then add whole bottle, run to empty *Concentrate !
@@KurtWinters , sorry Kurt, did not see your last message. Yes, I did buy the car, it is showroom condition. The guy brings it to car shows here in the East. 30,000 miles, everything works, except the radio antenna sticks up one inch when shut down. It's like a brand new car, very, very clean. Never seen the snow, 37 years old. Probably bought it for the investment, I'll have a little fun with it and then sell it. or give it to my kid. Love your videos! 👍
The thing that's never mentioned: All the materials that this car is made of... Pain in the ass , as an owner! They're aging at totally different Pace right now. Any 'Vette is a Hoot!

matt is a super sharp guy.
Run some B12 or Kerosene....in your gas that will clean up most anything in your injectors
Yes sir, works wonders. I love b12 chem tool
@@KurtWinters 👍🏿😁yes indeed!
Take a look at my RUclips page I have a few C4 DIY videos
How tall is Matt, I'm trying to determine how tight the interior is. He looks a bit cozy in there 2:40 .
i'm 6'2 and could not fit in the car. the early c4's are cramped. matt is about 5'11. look for a later 93-1996 for a bigger interior !
