@@slappyjo1046 there are plenty of retailers that sell the full volumes for very cheap in that case. I look at the BookOutlet for example, plenty of great comics being sold at 70%+ off. (I'm in canada though, so idk of the alternative stores in other countries, but I'm pretty sure the States has that chain if you wanna check it out) Alternatively, I'd suggest accounts like Comicstorian that breakdown full comic books so you can understand the whole context of the stories you wanna see. The guy also does voiceovers for the characters too (the deadpool corps being my personal favorite, Pandapool is my ride or die 😌✊️). It's just better to know what's going on rather then having a 30 second video write-off otherwise great stories because they greatly oversimplified the plot.

There's a story where he doesn't get bit and instead only Cindy does. Peter's life still isn't that great since Flint Marco instead of robbing Ben on the street breaks into the parker house and shoots peter crippling him.
Iirc it was a combination of age catching up with him, slowing his reflexes, and the cops having future tech with advanced targeting systems. Still a downer but at least a plausible one.
Also spiderman has never been bulletproof. Remember kingpin tried to shoot him with a sniper. And has gotten bodied by the punisher when he takes any damage. He dodges for a reason.
As much as Spider-Man in the modern era can be a bit iffy, I will always love stories from this time. J. Michael Straczynski has to be one of the best Spidey writers ever. His stories were always full of heart and emotion, the writing was funny, sad, dramatic, and action packed. This story specifically? It's my favorite Spider-Man comic of all time. Leo's Tailoring is just an excellent one-off about Peter life. He's getting back with MJ, the characters of Leo and his grandson are interesting, and the art is just nice to look at. And yes, I know Straczynski did stuff like One More Day. But ignoring the fact that he was FORCED to do it by Marvel (Pay attention here guys it's not always the writers making the bad decisions), the story is just beautifully tragic, and incredibly well written. And I get the whole "haha the writers hate Spider-Man", "God hates Spider-Man", "Spider-Man hates himself". But it's just tiring at this point. Pete's life is more than the depressing bits. Being Spider-Man grants him freedom to express himself, a way to help people, a way to make friends. His life is hectic, and sometimes cruel, yes. But in the end, he IS doing what he loves, and even if there's some bad bits within it, he'll just pick himself back up like he always does. Because he's Spider-Man. Because he's the best in us. Life's bad, yeah. But nothing can be perfect. To make a slight break from the point to further explain this. Peter's life is a simple saying. "Life is pain." But that's not a bad thing. Pain is needed. We can't cherish the good without knowing the bad. As someone wiser than me put it, "the darker the night, the brighter the stars. The deeper the grief, the closer one is to God." Peter's life has had him beaten, bruised. It's left him doubting himself, hating himself for his shortcomings. But it has his friends like the FF, Miles, Harry, Black Cat, MJ, and even Flash Thompson. He knows that however dark the night will get, the morning will be even brighter. That's it. That's my TedTalk. If you read this far down here's a fun fact: Peter's basically Jewish. Don't say know. Yes he is. He speaks hewbrew, he broke the glass at his wedding, he went OFF on Zemo, like way more than even Cap in a fight. It's not concrete, but it's implied, and I think it's very neat!
Great ted talk! I do also agree that the "writers hates Spider-man" stuff gets annoying, especially since most of the people that watch these don't actually read comics, and due to the popularity of the character they forget this storytelling happens to literally every other character (Batman, Invincible, Hulk, so on so forth). Comes off more of a casual whining from them these days, since there's no actual criticism and no alternative ideas floating around.

The Chasm heel turn treatment for Ben Reilly being another big problem in his run. Those are valid criticisms i could elaborate on, certainly not "ugh, the writers always hate Peter". What good do those kinds of nothing comments do anyways? It's no avenue given for writers to work with to shape their stories around.
I've said it once and ill say it again. The Last Stand should ALWAYS be the "Broke Bad" or "Get Buissness Done" suit, not the Black Suit. by all facets contextually it makes FAR more sense.....And I'm totally not saying it because its in my top 3 and I cosplay it at cons regularly.

Last Stand is one of my favorite Spidey designs. It's so simple and feels like an outfit a hero might make in the real world.

the JMS run is great because spidey's pain isn't just terrible shit to put him through for no reason but actually shows what makes peter great
