The 'you got some ideas to sleep on' just means you have leveled up one of your skills, so now you can know when you gain a level without having to wait for the night (but you will still only get the recipes at night). I think CA added that line to make it more immersive/realistic, like, during the day you've accumulated some experience so at night you 'dreamt' or thought of some ideas and the result is the crafting recipes. At least that's how I rationalize it 😂.

A man like Walter would name his dog Chief or something I think. He would definitely call the dog "how you doing there chief?" Or a similar nickname And it would stick. I am very excited for this save file!
u can fill water by the coop..... go in the coop and there is water inside the fenced area and u can fill from there..... what i do is i go to pet my chickens fill water and come back to water my crops.
Just a small heads up, since the water source gave me a heart attack too: you can use the waterfall next to the chickens! I’ll usually grab my watering can in the morning and fill it while I’m petting the chooks and grabbing eggs ❤️ definitely makes life easier
Yay! New series!! Walter is a nice character too! So, if you don't plan to take this to perfection, I suggest not marrying. You can invite Krobus as a roommate later on if you get lonely, but otherwise the soon to be wealthy hermit life could be nice. Naming suggestions - Chickens: Scrambled & Poached. Doggo: Max, Bentley. Even if you get the Trashcan Hat - keep hitting those trash cans. Can't tell you why, don't want to spoil the surprise. Enjoy and take care, Sharky!
Suggestion: If memory serves, a fish pond also acts as a water source for refilling the watering can. It's _considerably_ more expensive than the well, but you also double up on functions as it lets you farm roe as well.
@@SharkyGamess If you want to add a fish pond, I’d say some top choices would be Sunfish, Sturgeon, or Super Cucumber. Sturgeon and Super Cucumber you can’t catch until Summer tho. They all give roe and sturgeon roe can be turned into caviar using a preserves jar. Sunfish has an 8% chance to produce solar essence and Super Cucumber has a 5% chance to produce iridium ore and a 5% chance to produce Amethyst. Oh and having 3 or more Super Cucumbers in a fish pond turns it purple!
right now u have only 2 chickens so u can try to precisely remove the normal green grass and keep only the blue grass.... as chickens like blue but if they see green first they will eat it.... removing green one gives more space for blue to grow and 2 chickens will not eat that much of the grass and will allow for the blue to spread significantly.... remove the green grass or u wont be getting the benefit of blue grass as green grass is in front of blue one ... and they eat green only and it spreads not allowing the blue one to grow in the starting i ran out of energy very frequently ...so what i used to do rest of the day was to snip out green grass out of my whole farm.....till winter whole of my farm had only blue grass on each tile....literally loads of blue and only blue grass
So happy to find a slow pace playthrough! I love the perfection runs but there is something so calming of someone just taking their time and figuring out what they want to do as they go

That way, you can fill it up while checking on the chickens. Lastly, when it says "You've got some new ideas to sleep on...", that just simply means you've levelled up a skill. It will only say it the first time you level up a skill that day. Very handy, because if you pass out on the same day you level up a skill, you wake with full energy, no matter what!

roommate krobus sounds fun as an idea instead of marriage, also for names a good name for the dog might be somthing like dusty, i named my two chickens princess and tacco.
Grandpa's shrine is on the upper left side of the farm on the other side of the river. You go past the greenhouse to the river. There's a little bridge along it that has a hardwood stump you'll need to axe. Once past that, the shrine will be in the upper left like I said earlier. Also, you can keep a torch in your inventory and then hold it while you move around at night until you get a glow ring.
i'm at 25:52 and trying not to yell, "there's a water fall Next to the Coop!" when you were looking for a place to fill your watering can. XD;; i know, it's silly. you couldn't hear it and i would wake the house up to boot.
I never get married in Stardew Valley. I did have Apples as a roommate in the Expanded mod once. That was cute. Dog name should be Wags. Walter and Wags. I’m going to love this series, Sharky. Your passion for this game has always made your playthroughs so immersive.
Now if you plant a tea sapling, you can dig it back up, so its actually more worth planting them, harvesting the tea and then selling the tea saplings. Its just a bit more work.
Rusty could be a neat name for a dog. I also started a new farm myself & omg the luck I have had in just the first 10 days. I've never had this kinda like before. Spring 5th, Luck is good; I kill a bug on floor 15; It drops a DIAMOND! Spring 6th, Luck is good again; I fish up a chub & chest in the mountain lake near the mine entrance. 5 gold ore & another DIAMOND! Spring 9th, Luck is in my hands; I kill a grub, it drops an ANCIENT SEED!
I played through a whole year on a new file before watching your new episodes because I don't want to get spoiled but I still want to support the channel...! What a tough situation...! Hopefully I won't get too spoiled by watching this series 🙈
I think the water by the coop is the most convenient for now, what i do is water till the can is empty, head over to the coop and do animal things, fill up the can then continue watering.
Walter sounds a bit like 'water' - which you can get from the river by the chickens! - so I'd be tempted to name the animals after drinks as 'Wine' is kind of a punny name for a dog. Perhaps your chickens could be 'Milk' and 'Tea'? (Though milk and honey does sound more together :) ) Enjoyed your playthrough - looking forward to the next one.
Why can’t you get water for the water can by the water fountain. Plus instead of throwing away the algae or seaweed. Why not eat it. Not much energy but some better than none.
My starting chicks were called beans (brown one) and toast (white). I thought that was so cool that surely those were the default names but yours are named Fishy Roe lol

There is a river like thing closer to the house that you can get to when you go to pet your chickens it'll do till you can get the well or the house upgrade then just use the sink to fill your watering can

You could name the dog Waldo, and the chicks Biddy and Becks. I didn't realize all the changes to item prices and item effects. I 'm going to have to pay more attention. (I didn't know about the joja drinks and I sold 8 of them from fishing the other day, now I'm sad ) You want to do quests so you can get tickets to use in the machine in the Mayors house. There are some really cool prizes in there! What is the name of the mod you are using for the sprites? I would like to use this as well, and the one to show the fish in the water. Thanks you!
I got a dino egg while fishing on day 11. I was so excited since i already had the coop. I upgraded the coop as soon as i could and now I'm just waiting for the lil guy to hatch. ❤

I see him being a stray that turns up on the farm and becomes the protector of Bluebell Farm! Another idea- Bluebell is Walter’s last name, so it’s Walter and Bruno Bluebell! I didn't clear the path to my warp totem. Come the night market, I teleport home, find out I can't mine downwards, fall asleep right there.

U can get water from the small stream next to the coop. Its more accessible until u get a well
