  • Today I'm looking at the powerful yet still reasonably sized Precision M4400, a 2008 15 inch laptop built for video editing and CAD. Sporting the same case design and build as a Latitude of the era, it has a powerful Quadro FX graphics card, as well as being among the few laptops to support mobile Core 2 Quad chips. The M4400 packs an incredible amount of punch into a 15" chassis, stuffing a Core 2 Quad into a subtle case.

Huge dell precision nerd here, your on the money being a latitude, other than the ribbed case, its a silver Latitude E6500 vs the 14" E6400, i love the colorful latitudes tho, only colorful Precisions were the rare M6000 Covet series, either Orange Red (M6400-M6500) or a Ruby red (M6600-M6800), worth a ton but a lovely set of machines to work with!

I've been on the lookout for Covet parts for my M6700 workstation for years. I'd love to find the red back and body to put on mine, but even just the metal plates sell for $100+ when they do rarely come up for sale...

@@DavisMakesGames your best shot is to find a M6800 Covet, i was blessed when a friend found one in a e-waste center, the issue is that a good condition one is minimum 500, last one on ebay sold for almost 1k, so getting it for 100 was a dream come true, have to bend some of the metal back and swap my 980m and 4940MX into it!

I pulled a t9600, ram out of a inspiron 1545 & put it in this, win10, runs surprisingly well 😂 i got this thing for 25 bucks 3 years ago & just now using it. When these schools get dont with thir computers they get rid of them so cheap & fast. Glad i found your video trying to learn more about it. Even being older than the inspiron 1545 i like this more, baxklight keyboard NICE screen dvd drive everything, so many ports lol. Gonna get that cpu you said & a cheap $30 ssd an run it til it craps out, inspiron 1545 going on ebay doubt anyone wants that junk though lol it works

My friend has the Dell M4800, which looks exactly like the Dell M4400.
The M4800 is a great labtop. It also has one of the best keyboards. The keyboard on the M4800 is very similar to the IBM and Lenovo Thinkpad keyboards.

Have been doing so with my Core 2 Duo/Quad laptops, noticeably cuts down the temps and heat outputs.
