Not some people beleive it. true greatness in boxing is shown by an ability to move up and prove you arent just bulling guys with low KO ratios or guys moving up in weight (GGG).

Ward moving up to fight Kovalev is a little bit different considering that Kovalev isn't seriously considered the best #for# active fighter. Remember GGG said he was willing to move up to 168 to fight anybody else, which makes logical sense. By the way, Jones moving up to heavyweight to fight bums doesn't prove his greatness anymore than what he had already done in the ring...Jones was great before he moved up in weight!!! Also Floyd fighting Canelo at 154 wasn't moving up since he already held the light middlewieght belt after defeating Cotto at 154!!!

Max Kellerman is gold to boxing. To me, he is the only honest commentator in boxing. Max is the best at calling fights without showing over the top favoritism, unlike most other boxing commentators.

I don't remember Hagler getting a gift decision against a guy who was battling cancer a couple years prior.
Hagler's situation was that he had to wait for years to get a shot at a world title. Hagler was 46-2 in his FIRST attempt at the belt (against Antuofermo, a controversial draw). Golovkin was 18-0 when he won his first title bout. Also, no one is ducking Golovkin. Also, Andre Ward is fighting at 175 lbs. If anything, Golovkin would have to move up in weight to make that fight happen.
All the unbeaten middleweights now are not ready such as Billy Joe Saunders so Andre Ward could be interesting. Michael Spinks moved up to Tyson and we all saw what happened there.
Since EVERYONE is ducking lil g as Ward now calls him, how about the guys who have mentioned fighting him. Namely, Ward, Froch, Lara, Mayorga, Dirrell brothers, Mora, J'leon Love (one of TMT's fighters), Kid Chocolate, Chavez Jr recently, among others. Let's not forget about Bernard Hopkins. And I think Floyd would consider it if ggg would show that he was dedicated to dropping weight by truly offering a weight stipulation and not just throwing out the usual going down in weight cliche.

I have a few questions. Technically isn't Hagler strongerbthan Hearns in terms of chin because he knocked out hearns in 3? So even though hearns is longer than hagler, he still moved up to light heavyweight and won a title despite being knocked out by a middlweight. So wouldn't haglers overall strength be good at loght heavyweight? Or is it still too much weight to go up because he was only 5'9".

Wow someone is forgetting history, Duran fought Hagler 4 years before Leonard did. If one listens to Leonard himself he says he actually started thinking he could beat Hagler when Marvin went 11 hard rounds with John Mugabi. The period Duran fought Hagler, Leonard was retired with a detached retina although he made a comeback just after Duran vs Hagler and fought Kevin Howard and then promptly retired again so he had one fight in a 5 year gap from boxing. Leonards only won against Hagler because he did far better than expected, he ran and clinched most of the bout apart from short bursts of shoe shining punches at the end of each round, the referee gave Leonard warnings every round for repeated holding and the judges didn't seem to care that Leonards punches either missed or hit arms and gloves add that with a crowd cheering everything Leonard did regardless if he scored and you got a Leonard win. Personally I thought Hagler won, he fought Leonard ran and clinched.

The problem with Max Kellerman is he is never completely honest when he speaks. Andy Lee wants to fight GGG and GGG turned that down because his father died. Erislandy Lara called him out and they didn't want that fight, Andre Ward was willing to fight him and he ducked him, Lemieux just fought him and we don't know if Canelo will fight him and already Max and all these other guys are trying to talk down that fight and not get Canelo to fight him. Canelo has never said he is not fighting GGG next. Canelo has no problem going up against Golovkin. Will it be at a catchweight maybe we will see. Oscar is bucking but Canelo has no problem fighting him. Willie Monroe picks Canelo to win because of his skills in there. Every time Oscar bucks Canelo steps. Cotto had very good defensive skills as well in addition to his jab so he was able to elude Canelo's shots. GGG don't have that man. He will shift his body to make angles harder to hit him and use his jab for defense and the high guard. That is GGG. He does not have what Canelo and Cotto has defensively. He can take a punch and he will be taking more than he will be giving if he faces Canelo who if he accumulates enough punishment on GGG has the power and strength to stop him. Kellerman IS Really a braggart. As it stands now, there is no need for a rematch, except in the eyes of those looking to clean up, like De la Hoya, HBO, the NSAC, the city of Las Vegas and the bookies. Because of that fake judging, GGG and the punters lost millions.

Hagler was a complete fighter, he could brawl or box. Against Duran everyone was expecting a blood bath, but Duran wisely decided to stay outside and box the much bigger and stronger Hagler. Hagler adjusted and countered and out boxed Duran to get the decision. An underrated fight but it ended up being a chess match.
Golovkin was exposed by Canelo as a Euro stiff. That's why his fanboys are so angry. They know he lost.

Kovalev isn't as pure a boxer as GGG. He is a brawler with power, a perfect opponent for Ward. GGG has better timing, pressure, footwork, power, chin etc...I agree that Ward would be a dangerous fight because he is probably the smartest/slickest fighter in the game. Plus, he has a HELLUVA heart! Kovalev didn't pressure Ward or throw body shots to slow him down in the later rounds, hence, Ward rallied. GGG won't make that same mistake. Hell, Ward could win.
