Great video, and super well demonstrated as always!
I'm excited that Maschine is finally getting this... it was the main feature which made me envious of MPCs. I requested this feature in a Maschine + user feedback thing I did - so I guess it's been something that a lot of people have been asking NI for.
Thanks for the video, loopop! Bought Maschine MK3 in 2021 and I really liked that system. Unfortunately i had to return it due to some bugs which where first reported on the NI forums in 2016, bugs which NI refuses to fix. Moreover, the technical support team was not helpful at all and the the NI forum administrator deleted my post. The problem - Maschine MK3 "Step" sequencer does not see the first midi note (drawed in inside the Maschine software) next to the left locator, when in loop mode. DAW - Cubase Pro 11. I've heard that the problem does not exist when Maschine MK3 is used with other DAWs like Live. Thumbs up for the engineers who created that very nice piece of gear, thumbs down for the NI department that blocked the development of the system through which NI software communicates with Cubase, and didn't left place for adjustments. Thumbs down for the NI technical support team and for the NI forum administrators as well. If they will fix it, I will buy it again.
Great demonstration of a game changing feature! As someone who uses Maschine+ as the brain of my live setup I’ve had to do a lot of manual sampling to save on CPU - this makes life so much easier!
Another masterclass by the Professor. Looks like a great update.
Thanks for being so thorough as usual ;) Looking forward to this update.
Awesome tutorial as always! 🔥
Thanks for another great tutorial. Way more straightforward than the usual NÍ tutorial.
This video helped me a great deal. Thank you!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
Super helpful, thanks for making this! 🙏
thanks so much, other folks missed the MIDI for the basic requirements to start, and i found it here! When it started sampling on it's own the velocities and stride i was like OMG it's actually automatically sampling it, i thought i'd have to play 4 different kinds of velocitys haha! thanks you!!
Total needs a batch sample edit 👍. Im glad you mention that. Ive used this with Decent sampner and its pretty endless awesomeness for sound creation.
Awesome tutorial and auto sampling implementation
Great! 👍 looking foward to get this tool someday..
Wow! NI has taken this feature right out of Akai’s book. Good for them!
This man stays on it! Comprehensive! Did you work like this during a usual job before RUclips lol.
Had no idea they were working on this feature. Seems pretty cool as a time saver.
Automatic loop detection is a one up on the new MPCs. One of the features I REALLY desire.
Great breakdown! 🍿🎹🦊
The multisampling feature is nice! Though I’m more excited about the auto-save/recovery feature to be honest.
awesome and clear demo thanks .. was going to sell my Maschine but not now! thanks
Amazing video thanks!
This is great. M+ is my fav hardware hub right now.
Excellent tutorial. I was able to sample my custom instrument racks from Ableton.
That 700fs might be the most beautiful mono synth I’ve ever seen, though I’m happy with the bass station 2!
Always first to the party. Thanks!
This is a great function! Thanks for the tutorial!! (Does make me think about buying the Maschine plus again, but allthough used to Maschine, I guess I would go for Akai instead)
That’s awesome, now I can save my Moog Grandmother sounds as presets and play them polyphonically!
Thats a good dam idea. Never thought of using a monosynth to turn it poly through multisampling.
In theory it sounds good, but there’s a lot that doesn’t work very well like modulations. But for raw sounds with a filter and envelopes it’s pretty good.
Now I can save my grandmother and play her polyphonically !
@@DoctorNemmo yeah but what do you do with Grandpa?
Maschine becomes more tempting all the time!
Nice one! :)
Maschine 2.15 is very nice. It would actually be even nicer if it ever came out...
LMFAO!
@@marclemar 9 days later...
Indeed
it's out :)
@@loopop Yeah, I know. Thanks
very cool feature! A release-startpoint setting would be great
agreed! or just stop looping and play til the end of the sample
Thank you Loopop for another Excellent video!
Thank you
Thank you.
I´ve been doing this since it came out. Just have a midi staircase pattern, like a Rex file. Make sure the sound fades out completely before the other plays, polyphony to 1 to be sure. If it overlaps change the tempo to halve instead of fiddling with the midi. Then select vst or hardware. Enable sync, record with no set length, start with the lowest c. You can do it realtime,or to be faster just export and then import again. Because after that we enable slicing, trim if there is silence,we want our first slice to make sound, not silence. Then slice to 1 pad/ for keyboard mode. The 1st slice you will maybe have to shift left or right depending on what you select (like for bass i only choose 4 octaves max). Then save as sound et voila 😉 no need to use the mappen editor, the slicing puts it on the right place.
yo, this is huge. I can use those wav exports in my Deluge too!
If you were going to be spending a lot of time using an autosampler (for creating multisamples) and had to choose between the Machine+ and MPC One, which do you think has the best workflow? Or another way to put it, if you had to rely on one of the other as the playback device for your multisampled instruments does one have a lot of advantages over the other.
Excellent video, as always. thanks !
I wonder if I can use these multi-samples on my deluge….
Thanks - Can't see why not!
Great vid, Loop. Question: provided you're only sampling one velocity layer, can you bounce the samples to a new pad group or are they tied to being a keyboard group?
Thanks! Not sure I understand the question but once samples are in zones they work like zones do today in 2.14, so anything you can or can't do works the same way
@loopop ahhh, zones.
What I meant was... on maschine you can chop your sample and then save it as a keyboard/zone situation or you can save the chops to a new group and play each slice from a separate pad in Pad Mode. This has certain advantages over being forced to stay within the "keygroup" way of things.
So...We can auto multisample but...We still can not easely copy a pattern from a group to an other with events or automate levels?
Maybe I'm just being crazy optimistic or I'm not thinking the logic through but I'm curious to see what might come from using the auto-sampler functions with something like the fabulous new Playbox product (or Play series Kontakt instruments) and whether it could allow for limited but M+ compatible sounds.
cannot believe i missed this new feature. can these samples be transferred to contact, while keeping the automatically set loop points?
hi.I have M + it happens to me that it is in standalone aia in vontroller as soon as I connect it to the pc from the audio outputs a very annoying hiss / noise comes out from the headphone output nothing, perfect audio. I tried them all and followed all the advice of native but nothing. can you help me? thank you. louis
The ability to specify what velocity values to sample at would be nice. I have many VST's that have say four velocity layers that are not evenly spread apart.
I was hopping for other features to improve the arranger view (like better automations etc’) but this is welcome and very cool as well. Sorry if that was mentioned in the video (might have missed it), but when this should be available?
To my understanding it's a matter of days not weeks, but I didn't get a firm date from NI
@@loopop thanks! And thank you for the excellent review as always!
I tried doing this and autosampling Alicia's Keys VST. When I load the sound in Maschine + standalone, it says it's a Kontakt 7 instrument and won't play it. Why is this?
Is there any way to incorporate aftertouch in your sampled instrument? (If the hardware synth patch that you are sampling uses aftertouch)
Maschine doesn't do aftertouch. Not just the hardware; the software can't record it at all.
Where did you get the white maschine plus
Is this available on maschine + already? Or is this an advanced version for you?
Once I’ve done all the settings for sampling I would just love to save it as a template so I can reuse it next time
First! been waiting for this tutorial :)
Hope they fix the issues I am having with my first gen S61 KK keyboard. Went through the whole support ticket and proved the bug exists, but they don't seem to care..
Does the white one get too dirty? Thinking of getting one
Is it possible to sample Digitone sounds this way?
Thank you for another great review! Question: Does sample rate affect the quality of the sampling? Correct me if I am wrong but Maschine + (and MPC) goes up to 24/44.1 and mkiii can go up to 24/96. So the software version would give better results, right?
Thanks! The answer is pretty easy - set your audio interface to 44.1 and then to 96 kHz sample the same thing and ask yourself if you can hear the difference. Personally, I can’t.
It will have an influence on the quality of effects and processors used afterwards, aliasing is easier to fall into using lower rates though not necessarily in a problematic manner.
Does it work with MK II?
What is that hardware synth that your sampling? I’ve never seen one with controls under the keyboard like that.
Never mind, it’s the Korg 700s, you mentioned the name. I hadn’t seen that one before.
@@Hemigoblin Korg has the VST version as well if you can't get your hands on the hardware version.
Hello... I use Musescore and Logic and I would like to buy a system independent of the computer. Which do you think is easier to use, for a beginner, MPC One, Roland Verselab MV-1 or Maschine +? Thank you very much in advance.
There's no right answer - I made videos about all of them, all quite long
Hi, I've got some issue with this function. I use 2 mono wires connected to my synth and my soundcard, I've got a disgusting back sound. Can you give me tips (ware mono or stereo) ?
yes, check out my video about solving ground loop issues
How did you managed to run the software? the Software 2.15 not working on "Maschine+", we all need to downgrade. Can you give us the link to the Maschine 2.15 Software that you get from Native-Instruments?
Cool review and tutorial! Can’t test for a while on my M+ because NI stopped sending updates to Russia because of war :(
no, they haven had an update for a while. i assume one is coming soon though.
@@teak6306 good to hear that! Would be nice to get updates at least. I will be checking native access now hourly😅
But they definitely stopped selling new products in Russia (online store), they told this in their Instagram (can’t send the link to post, Instagram is banned by Russian authorities 😄)
Hi! What is your impression of the Maschine+ so far? Do you have any issues with the CPU being underpowered?
Thank you for all your hard work - I follow your tutorials and reviews religiously! All the best 🙏
I've only had mine for about a week, but I've thrown some pretty dumb stuff at it to test it out, and under normal circumstances I don't see cpu usage ever being a problem for me. All the fully fleshed out projects (songs) that come with the device and expansion packs will see 60 - 70% cpu use, with 8+ groups of 16 sounds each going.
Once a project gets into that territory, it's bump out to full PC DAW time anyway.
First thing to do is get a proper full size uhs-2 SD card, and ditch the bundled microSD and adapter. Had a couple crashes prior to that, but zero since. Load times much quicker as well.
As a groovebox addict, so far this is my new #1. Coming from Korg Electribes, Elektron Digitakt & Model: Samples, Circuit Tracks & Volcas.
Got an MC707 on the way as well to compare, but I think I'm set on this one. Can update thoughts in a couple of weeks.
Thank you! 😊😊😊
Is there a round robin function? Same velocity, multiple samples? This would be great for instruments that sound slightly different when hitting same note multiple times.
This requires Kontakt and some skill but you could do that with slightly different velocity values.
@@phelper4554 indeed. Using 16 levels is the way i do it. Like from samples from mars they have 909 kicks made from different 909 hardware, and every kick is just a little bit different! So 16 velocities for 16 damples with 16 levels on 1 pad. Hit 16 levels and choose a different one.or just have velocity on and play softer or harder with each note, disable velocity to volume if you want the same loudness. Not really round robin, but it will do for now
The Roland MV 8000/8800 was doing that back in 2003
Where is a recent Roland that does that now?
Question - Are the setting of loop points saved into the wave files
Good question - feel free to download the free multisamples and let us know? With which software would you check this?
certainly beats doing all the mapping manually, as much as i have the process dialed this is sssssooooo much better and breathe
Maybe adding a gate FX on the input would help trimming silence for external instruments
(I don't use Maschine , so I'm not sure if it's possible)
Or threshold.
@@unitedsouthenterprisesllc often called a gate
@@Jason75913 nope gates have thresholds that are normally used to cut in or out and don’t apply to a sampler. Name a modern sampler that has gate for input sampling.
@@unitedsouthenterprisesllc I'm used to seeing input threshold inserts called "gates" in pro audio, like PDmidi
🤣🤣
I have yet to touch an Akai sampler or the like.
Cool vid bro. Is it possible to multisample instruments from ipad into maschine plus. I want to sample instruments from ipad apps like korg gadget and play it in maschine plus projects
Thanks! Should work, you'll need to wire up your iPad with MIDI and audio IO - which might be a bit of a hassle, but it shouldn't be different than any other hardware synth
I Hope They Release a VST3 Version Of Maschine 2 Soon For Cubase 12
What's cool in 2022? I have an op1 and a maschine mk1, Ableton suite 8. Want to get back in the game
This is not released yet? Not on their website and doesnt update on my m+..
it is now
Are there alternatives to this outside of the machine world for auto sampling
yes, MPC Beats is free, Logic and Mainstage have autosamplers, and there are a few commercial products like Samplit and SampleRobot
naming files - data dial, per letter workflow like on a 90's Snes but in 2022.
I guess if you are in controller mode you could use the pc qwerty keyboard?
Surely
If you are in controller mode, the M+ is exactly the same as the MK3
@@guser7137 so... you can name files with the usb qwerty keyboard on your pc/mac?
Stupid question and it must work but - Will this work for me, using MK2? I guess its all in software , istn't it? I prefer this to, say, Akai software to sample soft stuff for Wavestate.
Yes - it's all software, so even if for some reason the MK2 controller doesn't support it, since it's a batch process you can be done with it and move on to the controller.
You explained this incredibly well. This feature is going to do wonders for creating sample libraries from hardware. #therealdjap
Ok cool! Now how to convert or save my MPC multiple samples in Maschine?
There are numerous videos showing how to do this.
Was reminded, Maschine is a left handed drum machine! (or, are the others left handed?)
Thanks for this video. What do you think of this maschine software update and the bliss sampler program ??
What a cool feature! Is this the only hardware that has this sort of thing?
both the hardware and the software
Again MPC software/current hardware have an autosampler option. The 1010Music Blackbox also has an autosampler feature. Each had varying features. The Blackbox is fairly rudimentary. The MPC version is very similar, but MPC doesn't let you set both the loop start and loop end points. So it is much harder to get a clean loop for playing longer notes.
Does the auto-sampler require the interfaces built into the Mk3 and Maschine+? Mk3's interface is muddy, I'd rather use my regular interface.
No it doesn't, you can use any audio interface
@@loopop yay!
I would love to see pitch stretching for drums : for preserving length of the one shot :-)
Dude please mention it to NI ...................
@@antgreen3254 also fl studio sampler has it and they've just added a new stretching algorithm: I'm telling you pitch stretching can save so many poorly sampled drums
and importantly it can further stretch a sample or pitch it without loosing the sample length. I can't stress enough how powerful that tool is :-)
@@antgreen3254 Reason did it in MIMC but it's still shit : nothing beats the FL sampler
Maschine 2.15 release date When Thanks
Any chance you could review Buchla Easel? 😘
perhaps at some point, but did you see my review of the Buchla Easel V? Almost the same thing ;)
Wish they'd add a 'freeze' feature.
There is already a random one ;-)
NI cheaped out on the CPU in M+, so I guess this is their 'solution'.
Agreed!
Definitely
M+ was never intended to be a laptop-replacement for using vsts - its a sampler with great re-sampling features and thats how the workflow was meant from the beginning. But people see what they wanna see and missunderstood the M+ completely ;-)
@@sunnyschramm9650 I saw a box that said stand-alone, with a list of plugins and expansions included, expansions that also have presets for their standalone vst’s. We only saw what the box was selling. Can’t say it didn’t intend to do a thing it advertised to do because it sucks at doing it. The MPC was advertised pretty similar, intended to do the things advertised and in the end, it does those things. No need to justify your purchase by making something better than it actually is. I had fun with it but I got tired of using presets and expansions and the delay and reverb was garbage. Raum was ok but, like you said, it wasn’t intended to run VST’s which is why I wasn’t powerful enough to run Raum in my large projects. If it cost $899.99 and I didn’t have to ask NI permission to sell it and transfer anything, I’d buy it again for live looping and export stems.
@@sunnyschramm9650 people have reported that it is underpowered for what it was advertised to do
The free MPC software will autosample and doesn't require MPC hardware, if you were only interested in sampling.
Round robin?
Not in this version…
Ooooh I want that too
Boooom!
goes the Maschine's CPU baahaahaaaaa
I can not believe they are only just adding this , I’ve only just got my Maschine mk2 and I thought this was already in there , I’ll keep using my MPC one for the big boys stuff and maschine for work breaks
Thanks for another great video. I love my maschine Mk2 and use it constantly but NI have totally dropped the ball. They have ignored basic feature requests for years and have an extremely infrequent update schedule. They used to care but the management or something has changed. It is clear that maschine is mostly a way to sell expansions to people instead of add the most basic feature that people have been requesting for over a decade. I will never spend another dollar with them until they show some improvement with their software development. They used to be such a good innovative company but they aren't adding super basic features. This autosample feature has no use to me at all. I still cant even drag an MP3 into maschine for chopping. I still can't record mutes and solos. Still can't make custom chords. I could go on and on. We just got autosave finally at least! Haha! I doesn't stop me from having a blast with my mk2 and it is the main focus of my setup. I just have a horrible taste in my mouth since native instruments have handcuffed there development team for more marketing and quick money business model. New expansions I do not want and ignoring their customers.
I think they said on the old NI forums that they've been hurting for money, so that's probably not helping.
Why is almost every sampler manufacturer ignoring Pitch Stretching?
That quick riff you played, right at the start, immediately brought back the theme music for this little known U.K. SciFi show. 😂
ruclips.net/video/JclTrbZ_ZPE/видео.html
So I can download demo/trial vsti and sampled it with ease? Lol
effectively
I’m glad they added the feature the MPC had for years( Auto Sample). I am a MPC user but I would love NI to offer competition to Akai to make both units better but NI is so far behind it’s ridiculous, they still don’t have MP3 export or import in 2022(SMDH)
Now I'm just waiting for someone to multisample the whole omnisphere vst! Lol
Omni is trash I wish I could sell it but they won't let you!
@@unitedsouthenterprisesllc what's wrong with it?
@@andrewwilliams7643 the sounds are mid asf. There’s a reason why they won’t let you demo it! The good sounds you see from producers are packs from a sound designer not stock sounds. @@unitedsouthenterprisesllc thanks for the heads up!
In my South Park voice… MPC did it 😂🤣😂
It's really a first version. It should determine half the parameters by itself in my opinion.
as I show in the video it's often beneficial to choose opposite options and some ranges may harm the outcome - there's no way to auto determine these things
@@loopop check samplit, sample robot.
Being a major in DSP and working with radar Doppler sounds, all the algorithms to find the sweet spots for a desired file size / quality are known and used daily in a variety of products. I think they just wanted to copy logic autosampler.
@@batmansmk I’ve used sample robot extensively, it’s way harder to use and configure than this. more powerful too, but certainly does not determine half the parameters itself…
Fantastic but still no 3rd party vst3 and still no midi routing. Unbelievable
No standalone hardware grooveboxes/workstations that I know of support third party plugins. Do you? And what do you mean no MIDI routing?
@@loopop I'm talking about VST 3 plugins. They only support vst 2 plugins from third partys. Midi plugins like scaler2 cannot be routed to another vst instrument. Any midi effects plugin cannot be used in maschine unless you use something like Blue Cat vst or Unify vst.
@@loopop I'm not talking about the stand alone maschine I'm talking about the computer software that the stand alone can also use.

You don't need the Mk3 controller.
