Yo man, that bit at 10:40 is so nice. And a point of notice for those checking this 10 months later: I've never had a device freeze as often as this piece. Heck, my MPC2000xl has never frozen a single time in 20 years! Latest update helped, but not that much. Sometimes the audio just stops working and you have to reload the project. Maybe future updates will address this, but so far it's very risky to try to do a show with this thing. That said, it's the most used item in my studio, even with its flaws. The Plus, and a Jam, a Kontrol Keys and a Launchpad will get you VERY far. Plug some USB hubs into the 2 USB inputs and you can run like 16 devices. And that's not even considering the MIDI. Quite powerful. Blah blah... Kind regards, Doctor!
Damn I've definitely been underestimating the potential of making my own keyboard samples with Maschine. That sounds better than a lot of patches

There is no better feeling than smelling a brand new product, and of course theres no better sampler to work with. Im big fan of sampling and with plenty of pad buttons you can load many samples. And thats pretty fun. Another great video, Keep up the good work Dr Mix👍

I love the idea of powerful standalone but I can’t justify the expense of Maschine+ if it’s only going to be used within home studio. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you run Maschine MK3 with laptop screen turned off, it’s essentially going to be the exact same experience as using Maschine+ ? (except MK3 will be able to run far more plugins and tracks than a standalone plus)
You should be able to use plus as a controller and use plugins too. Benefit is you dont need a laptop. It is expensive. Homefully used prices will come down
Yeah Dude it's nice, having a stand alone Maschine if you need it. Never the less you can still use a laptop or what ever additionally and this might be more of interest. Written on their homepage: Yes it can be used as a stand alone machine but...they said not every 3rd party instrument is supported so far, more clearer they said that first focus is on having their internal instruments running up first - so finally, as a stand alone you are not able to use every VST on it. This full control gives you only the combination with a computer. So at the end you might be still more flexible with a MK3 and a computer.
I only buy vintage samplers because I am stucked in 1996 forever, hate modern things.😁😁

How did you find it for DAW integration?
I have the Mikro which is pretty much an expensive paperweight as it isn't compatible with Ableton & Cubase takes a lot of work to get it working. I do love Native Instruments though and they're one of the best companies I've ever had dealings with so... I feel a bit torn on the thought of upgrading.

As an owner of a Maschine Studio I'm happy with anything you'll do with it. Love it already! :)

I remember my first groove sample machine the Akai MPC2000 and how almost instant gratification it was to play as long as you had enough ram, good floppies and good cds to sample off of! I loved it. This unit here seems as fun and as instant. SEEMS.. I say that cause when you turned it on for the first time you had to connect it to the internet?? For what? It is an instrument, not a computer to keep tabs on you. That part required you to sign in, register, id, password, what? No! It is an instrument. Turn on and play, not give your private credentials. So that is a turn off. Everything else including you got it for free, is great!
It’s authentication to logon to NI and update the operating system and it’s just the initial boot after you purchase. Yes it will update in the future as well but that’s a good thing as it will remove bugs, add features, and even better include security fixes. 99.99% you turn it on and play.
Authenticating using your NI account also allows downloading of additional content. Much nicer than transferring from a computer via USB or SD card.
Btw, RUclips is owned by Google. You’re logged into that so presumably not too worried about being kept tabs on 😉

I love the MaschineMK3!!... I use it all the time to make beats!!.... Dr Mix, would you consider some of the Blue Note era albums?.... Most are instrumental, but to me, they are some of the greatest recordings ever!!

Many years ago I recall being asked about the colour of desktop computers, they were ALWAYS beige (few were grey) it was down to that colour being least likely to show the build up of dirt in the office environment. These days computers are black as it's "tech" and luxury. Why are so many keyboards and synth boxes only BLACK? For a creative medium and industry like music it seems depressing and links the devices with computer feelings rather than have an inspirational appearance. I am sure you would fly even higher if your main keyboard interface were bright orange. It would be an interesting video to take a second-hand keyboard apart, sand and spray the case in some customised way and experiment with the idea. It would be a first.

I don't want screaming colours around me unless they're functional to what I'm workong on at the moment. Maye my brain works differently, but any inspiration I'd get from an orange keyboard would wear off in a matter of seconds. After that, it'll mostly be an annoyance in the corner of my eye.
What song could not be inspirational with such a Maschine ...
I think Davie504 deserves a song. Why not using voice+Bass+some if his favorite memes to make a great funky tune ?

there is a small documentary about Fatboy Slim where he shows his old, uninterrupted daw setup (Atari) and they had to blur the screen because there where unlicensed samples in his old project files (for which he hasn't been sued jet :) )

Greetings Doctor Mix. I have always enjoyed the way you reverse engineer songs on your videos. The way you listen to the original track, then replicate the sounds using synths and VST's for each of the parts within a song is truly mind blowing. It's very kool the way you vocalize the sounds of the drums and so on too. So having said that I wanted to propose a challenge to you and that is to reverse engineer the intro to the legendary 2112 song by Rush. I was fooling around on my synths and got close to some of the sounds but there's so much more to the rest of the composition. I believe with your talent, you can nail the 2112 theme and watching it done on a video would truly be epic. Thanks for possible consideration. Stay healthy. 👍🎹

@3:00 "Aaah" definitely. ;) The NI's approach to force the user to hassle with totally unnecessary, non-merit shit or else you can't use the expensive device is the exact BS they should quit long time ago. For example, I bought a second-hand DJ controller years ago - never used it because it has to be registered (account created and all that stuff), and finally neither the original nor new code didn't work. NI are control freaks who won't let you use your device until you register. BTW. Register is Latin for "to give away something to the king for him to rule this something". I like to actually OWN stuff I bought and not waive my ownership in any part. ;) If a device doesn't work fully without registering - it's a blackmail info waiving users's ownership of such device. A no-no.

Honestly..its so a pain in the ass to finish a real good music on what so ever hardware standalone, because you will need extra synth sounds and other things that all those major standalone machines doesnt have it all.....or....to do that you have to spend huge money into plugins and expansions.....plus...the arranger matrix / grid is way limited

Good day. I immediately thought that a remix of Techno Pop (by Kraftwerk) can be made with that machine.
I started thinking "This guy is a kinda crazy" to This guy is a talented man" good demonstration.
Maybe remix Nightcrawlers "Push The Feeling On"...if you can find the original vocals from the original 1992 track and not the MK mix then you are in for a field day with that Machine+ :-)

I am wondering, Can the Maschine + be used as a sound module . Putting aside all the other futures for now…If I connect a keyboard and create layers and splits of Acoustic Pianos and strings etc. etc. To play with the band.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I used the Maschine Studio, now I have the Maschine+. Same workflow and no CPU used. I route the audio in Ableton Live and it ca be synced via Ableton Link. The drums and some more made with Maschine+. With the Yamaha Montage and the Access Virus TI2 I can make nearly everything from the hardware and it sounds great.

I have the smallest version, the Maschine Mikro Mk3, and even this is so much fun to play around and find new beats and ways to get inspired. Such a great piece of gear - at a relatively small price tag.
