Hey, I was able to do it in about 30mî, here are some tips that would have helped me : 1 - This trick is 80% about having a good form, So record yourself in order to see what’s bad in your moov. ( Or do it with a friend that can tell you what’s wrong) 2 - You have to really push at the same time with legs+hand in order to really get high 3 - Once you are in the air, use your abs in order to get vertical !
I CAN NOW DO IT CONSISTENTLY!! Few misconceptions: 1. Most people think the kip up is a motion powered by your triceps, or your arms in general. Instead, the momentum of a kip up is generated by using the legs, and the arms are just for stability and a little extra push. 2. Most people tend to get their legs up and down but then land on their back because they can’t bring their body back up. This is where you must propel your legs while bringing your body along with it, instead of two separate groups. 3. Your legs must shoot up first, then pull down in an arc for your body to be able to follow with it and go upwards. 4. USE UR ABS AND DONT GIVE UP !!! Do not give up. This took me a few days to land, and I learned a lot along the way. I recommend recording yourself attempting it, and even though it seems cringe, it will help because you will be able to see what ur doing wrong. YOU GOT DIS
Well, it took me approximately seven hours of falling and failing, but hey, now I am finally able to do kip-ups without a problem! Finally got that off my must-learn list! No pain no gain! Thanks so much for this video! God bless you!
That was the hardest part for me... Firstly the exercises he mentioned in the video are really helpful! But speaking more from my experience, just be sure to time it right, and pull up with all your upper body muscles. So pull your neck, arms (extend the arms too like "serena" mentioned for more energy shift), and shoulders up like half a second after you kick your legs (as the momentum is shifting), and that should bring your legs down so you can land right. But if your a normal human like me, even if someone told me this it would still take me forever... So don't lose hope or get discouraged, just keep trying--that's the bottom line to everything, just keep practicing and you'll get it. Hope that was helpful! Good luck!
He definitely implying that it can be done in 5 minutes because he's using his girl and saying she doesn't know how to do it when she definitely has done it before
@@anthonybravo7079 The only thing he's implying is you have to be physically fit and have the core control to lift yourself up with just your abs, which I'm going to make a wild guess and say the majority of people in the comments don't have
Peter Murray it’s implied, but not actually said. Either way, it should be common sense if you know you can do it or not. Being fit is what you’ll need to be if you want to accomplish this.
It's really all in the arms. I did this for days and couldn't land one. I was just throwing my feet at the ground over and over. I thought I was just lacking the core strength to muscle my upper body forward but it turned out I was just not pushing hard enough with my hands. If you're having a similar problem then I would recommend you try this, really extend and _push_ with your arms as fast and hard as you can. Note: Bridge pushups are an excellent drill for this. It is essentially the same movement and builds upper body strength
My problem was the chest. If you bring your chest up quickly you won't fall in your back, just with your ass. And if you practice more you will get it. In fact there is a push up without hands. So hands are not the main thing. The important is the thecnic of your legs to throw yourself up and forward. And up your body quickly. Not the hands
I do martial arts, and have been trying to do a kick up for many years unsuccessfully. But, thanks to your amazing video, instruction, and breakdown, I finally managed to get it in a few day's time! I can do it almost perfectly now! Thanks!

Exactly. One thing I've learned as an athlete who's gone sedentary and then trying to be active again is just how weak, uncoordinated, and immobile the average person is. GhostBomber lol I can often do a kip up but it's difficult damn... One day I'll go to gym because I'm not as strong as everyone... For my age (18) at least
i was able to get this one done when i was something like 14 years old (23 now), i was constantly trying to imitate the "Leon from resident evil 4 way of standing up", i didn't even knew how the move was called. after months of trying it everytime i had a soft surface available, i was able to land it in an acceptable way, after discovering it was really helpful to use your hands to get height so my tip is, try to coordinate the impulse from your arms and legs at the exact time, and push with your arms as hard as you can, dont get lazy and kick like you want to hit the ceiling with your foot, and try to dont over roll so you wont end up hitting your knees edit: you don't have to be an gym rat to pull it off, i was and i'm still a very skinny person with next to no physical training besides the one i had at school so trust yourself
I'm 6'5 and 240, you got this. Use all that motion you can generate with your weight flex really hard and really explode. I did like 15 terrible ones in like 45 minutes
@@niveetbandu4207 Yeah, I think it can be done in 5 minutes if one already has the required strength in all the right areas. When trying to do it, I learned I don't (yet).
@@khalibra8834 Bro, if you landing on your back , try pushing more harder and don't rry kip up with legs joined , land with lega opened . I used to be in ur situation so I did this to get over it - I got someone to spot me on grass, and he did. Then I asked him to put his hand behind me just in case, he did but I managed to do it alone. That gave me the confidence to try it alone cuz I already saw I didn't need the hand.
LOVE your videos dude, I've wanted to be able to do this for over 30yrs (watched martial arts films as a kid), never knew what it was called or how easy it actually was. THANKS! ("pregnant baby" LOOoooOL! you could do some type of stand-up comedy workout thing.. call it "usually not standing up stand-up".. your vids wouldn't be complete w/o your humor)
How do I psych myself into this? I keep hesitating when I'm about to try, so I fall every time and get close to no air. I have no idea where to aim my legs when I shoot them out either.
Trogdor Tibbles I had the same fear at first IF YOU HESITATE YOU FAIL! Just roll back and GO It’s not like a flip were you could get hurt So train alone with this so you don’t imparis yourself if you fail lol That’s how I did it Also, be on soft ground
An important thing to focus on is not the immediately try to reach the ground with your feet, but first literally KICK UP, as in extent your legs forcefully towards the ceiling/diagonally, and THEN bring it down quickly to the ground.
Truth guys ....,, I've tried to do this in 5 mins and I'm beginner ...,,, Then, my nech and lower chest parts, fell into pain for almost 3 days....,,, Don't try to do this in no time, Atleast give it a week try
What really helped me was using my back. I’d say spring with your legs when your back is rolled in it’s apex will give you that momentum required. It’s like jumping in a roll position

I can do it easily. Actually, I had learned it in 2005. Once I get up from my bed with this kip up flip & that was really fantastic ☺
Bro last time I knew how to do kick ups was when I was five 😂
Thanks Bro, I actually learned how to Kip Up in 5 minutes
lol nice bro
Thanks
😲😲😲😲😲😲!!??!!??!?!?!?
i did this shit in the end what happends to me is what happened to her on first try
do the chill
i was able to get this one done when i was something like 14 years old (23 now), i was constantly trying to imitate the "Leon from resident evil 4 way of standing up", i didn't even knew how the move was called. after months of trying it everytime i had a soft surface available, i was able to land it in an acceptable way, after discovering it was really helpful to use your hands to get height
so my tip is, try to coordinate the impulse from your arms and legs at the exact time, and push with your arms as hard as you can, dont get lazy and kick like you want to hit the ceiling with your foot, and try to dont over roll so you wont end up hitting your knees
edit: you don't have to be an gym rat to pull it off, i was and i'm still a very skinny person with next to no physical training besides the one i had at school
so trust yourself
**Falls**
"Oh no, let me just do my yoga exercises first so i can get up"
Awesome tutorial guys!!! I’m 6’5” 235lbs and 45 and I really want to do this move! Just subbed!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Did you do it?
Still working on it!👊🏾
@@plyodaddyfitnessplyometric4579 same here 💪
@@diobrando5415 yeah man pretty sure my size has a lot to do with it 😅
I'm 6'5 and 240, you got this. Use all that motion you can generate with your weight flex really hard and really explode. I did like 15 terrible ones in like 45 minutes
Am I the only one doing this because I have nothing better to do
Did you get it
Ur fiancé is awesome she has increased my confidence hope u both have a wonderful life ahead
"pregnant baby pose" 2:06 ..lmaoo
One minute silence for that persons who are thinking that she learnt in 5 min
But it works, took me 3 months... But 5 mins a day of that... Trust me bro
@@niveetbandu4207 Yeah, I think it can be done in 5 minutes if one already has the required strength in all the right areas. When trying to do it, I learned I don't (yet).
@@EstrellaViajeViajero You just need to be really fit
DeyvelX No, you also Need the technique.I am really fit but still suck.
@@khalibra8834 Bro, if you landing on your back , try pushing more harder and don't rry kip up with legs joined , land with lega opened . With thia you'll land low ( in a squat position ) but it's fine as a beginner level . Still you can flex in front of your friends. Also , try pushing harder with hands and just try bringing upper body up , you'll get it . I can just suggest , you have to practice . Good luck
My back is getting hurt more than elders 😂
I’ve wanted to do since Chad did it in Highschool Musical
Elillii Ebisso chad wild clay
3:38 is a perfect moment for the Nigahiga shrug

i just learned a quadriple back flip and parkour in 6 minutes!!! wow thanks!!
“You sure you haven’t done this before?” lmao 😂
Me: yeah!! Wooohoo, here I go.
Brain: sure, good job, do something other than watch videos!
Gravity: Hell nah.
Peregrine Band this was literally me😂
😁right
One belly flop later,
Brain: maybe this wasn't such a great idea
Me:*half way into roll
My Arms: THE HELL IS HE DOING! IS HE EXCERCISING I KNOW DAMN WELL HE AINT EXERCISING
Brain: It seems he tryna kick up like shawn michaels
My Arms: HE KNOW THAT WE KNOW THAT HE TO FAT FOR THIS SHIT IM BOUT TO GIVE AND LET THIS NIGGA FALL FACE FIRST
Me: *falls
My Arms: Yeah that's right now go do something like play video games bc yo ass ain't doing this
for a beginner, bed or a slighly downhill grassy area is the best to learn, you slowly build the techique and strenght eventually able to do in on flat surface
His upcoming video:
How to kill Corona in 5 minutes.
HAHAHAH. "Learn how to kill".
Actually do it, takes more time.
But you gotta focus 😂
This actually helped a lot. I still can't do a kip up still but I'm always so close

pregnant baby pose LMAO
I think ts called the seal stretch tho but I like your name for it more lol
think seal was the one he did beforehand. the other one was child's pose.
calisthénos oh right lmao mb
Alec Xia i tought fetus makes sense but i like pregnant baby
Cat stretch
Alec Xia You mean the downward dog
Do more tuts with your fiancé! I did a backflip on mats Today and I'm too scare to do w/o mats. Any tips?
Haha will do! and man have you tried the macacoo? or the jenk back handspring bridge thing? lol
If you can land it on pads then you can land it on grass. It's just mental. Have someone spot you at first then just go for it when you're ready
I used to be in ur situation so I did this to get over it -
I got someone to spot me on grass, and he did.
Truth is not everyone can learn this in 5 minutes, for me it was easy as I don't weight much and I have strong legs. :3
Lucky bastard.
lucky man you are
i do it on the first try
I weigh 160 lbs and it's really hard to do 😂
Strong legs is harder cause u have no strength hands to push u up enuf
3:15 I’ve been doing the “Chill” since the 60’s
Soooo? Have you succeeded? Since you're not having a hard time bringing your upper body up
The kip up is very easy and it's one of the first moves I ever learned keep in mind I don't know any flips and you don't have to to do this trick
Is anyone trying to this and impress you gf/bf or anyone?
😂 yeah
Yep
Golden Billz 😂😂😂 me
Golden Billz thx for the idea
No I’m in dance and they do this often in hip pop
How do I psych myself into this? I keep hesitating when I'm about to try, so I fall every time and get close to no air. I have no idea where to aim my legs when I shoot them out either.
I have the same feeling when i try a backflip . Try to aim at about 60deg from ground .
I shoot my legs forward about halfway from the start and the ground
Trogdor Tibbles me too I can't get off the ground
Trogdor Tibbles I had the same fear at first
IF YOU HESITATE YOU FAIL!
Just roll back and GO
It’s not like a flip were you could get hurt
So train alone with this so you don’t imparis yourself if you fail lol
That’s how I did it
Also, be on soft ground
An important thing to focus on is not the immediately try to reach the ground with your feet, but first literally KICK UP, as in extent your legs forcefully towards the ceiling/diagonally, and THEN bring it down quickly to the ground.
He is teaching this in 5 minutes and the video is just 4 and a half minute long
0:04
That's better then right?
Actually it's.....
BRENDA NO ONE WANTS YOUR 'ACTUALLY'
Its actually 7 secs away from a half-minute
Majoody _01 he’s hacking
Truth guys ....,,
I've tried to do this in 5 mins and I'm beginner ...,,,
Then, my nech and lower chest parts, fell into pain for almost 3 days....,,,
Don't try to do this in no time,
Atleast give it a week try
that's very true...
GREAT !!!!!!!! Thanks guys I wanted to learn this a lot of time ago. I cannot believe is so simple!!!
Damn, why can I only do this when I’m about to start fighting someone?
The “pregnant baby pose”.Did anyone realize that he said pregnant BABY.
What really helped me was using my back. I’d say spring with your legs when your back is rolled in it’s apex will give you that momentum required. It’s like jumping in a roll position
I tried so hard 😑 I'll keep trying and never stop!
