  • Jaelyn and Zach, two Delaware students, come upon a Black Cemetery in Delaware City while walking. They discover that Black soldiers, called U.S. Colored Troops, who served the Union in the Civil War, are buried there. They are intrigued, and decide to investigate other Black Cemeteries in the state and learn more about the Colored Troops. Their investigation leads them to other cemeteries and meeting other researchers, who provide them with historical information and insights into the research process. Funded by Delaware Humanities.
