I think we can land more airports in a afternoon than many land in a year.

  • Once again we meet up with our tour guide Paul to fly grass airports around the Lansing Ionia area. This time he has a Aeronca Champ instead of his Stinson 108. The goal is 20 airports and home well before dark. A quick shout out to the group and we found a bunch of pilots who wanted to enjoy the warm fall afternoon so we headed out. The rendezvous was set for Owosso airport and a departure time of 8:30. The Super Stinson, Super STOL, an Aerona Champ and Chief, Cessna 120, 150, and 180.

Looks like a great day for flying. Back in around 2005 I used to fly a Challenger Ultralight out of Petersburg Michigan. It was Air Rahe Ultralight Park. Every now and then a bunch of us (8-9) would spend the day doing the same thing you all did. Getting our $100 hamburgers at Jackson Airport or some other places. In the winter we would land on Coldwater Lake and eat at the restaurant. Great fun. Thanks for sharing. It sure brought back some memories. 😅

Looks like a great time I wish you guys were closer to the West Side

Hey you guys are welcome to come fly down to Ohio we have plenty grass strips to play around on! Oh just found your channel and like it a lot. General aviation needs a push and we need to get out there and do what we can to get more people interested in to aviation.

Scooter, thanks for the great video.....flying with your son, doesn't get much better than that...!!

What about making a pipe where the engine side is the same and the outlet side can slide over it and clamp so you can adjust the length of the belly of the pipe. Also you could easilly change out the back half with different length and diameter of stingers. My plan when i am building my pipe

  • @jvon811

Stop #2 there is Shady Lawn, Tim’s place, not Schiffer Acres. I was wondering if you got a warm welcome at Schiffer Acres 😂

  • @leapfrog7409

I'd love to come hang out with y'all sometime. Looks like a good day.

  • @oltimer5544

Scooter, I assume these are all private strips. Have owners given blanket permission to land on these strips?

Looks like a fun day -- thanks for sharing! Many of the little farm strips have the same type of runway markers (they look like some sort of yellow pyramid). Is that a thing for designated runways in Michigan?
