From Michigan To Utah: Flying Across America And Facing Challenges - Part 1

- In this video I document our journey across the country in a small plane. I know thousands of people transit the US each year, but when you don't do it often (It's been 5 years for me) the trip is exacting. Flying planes limited to around 100kts adds to the adventure because it's going to a couple of days to transit. In that time you deal with weather, overnighting, and keeping motivated. In the end we completed the trip.
Dude! TJ! Miss you, buddy! Great video, Scooter! So worth the time it took flying to Utah at 100mph! 😉
It was worth the time. It was a great trip. Wait till the next video when you see the flying in Utah!
@@GreatMichiganBushCo Can't wait, man! See you at your STOL comp!
Love it! Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks part 2 should be good. This was a tease and mainly made because I had what I thought was a few nice shots on the way over.

@@alexmikhael5061 The way back was quick. We took off in the morning flew till 6pm had dinner and spent the night in Cedar Rapids, IA took off in the morning and was back home for lunch.
Want more than 9 minutes of this...
I made a driving trip their some years ago, and the change in scenery was already so cool! It must be incredible from the air 🤩
9 more minutes. Maybe 15 more minutes are coming. I'm going to make a video of us flying in Utah. It had to be two parts.
1:36 dude!!! IT IS ROUGH WHEN THE STALL SPEED IS LOWER THAN THE WIND GUSTS!!! :)

@@alexmikhael5061 We did make good time on the way back home!
Come up to Baker City Oregon - I would love to fly with you!
Maybe next year. We were thinking about Idaho, or maybe Alaska. North East is a place we'd like to visit. Oregon wouldn't be out of the question.
I picked this plane up just a little north east of you in Lewiston.
Douglas Wyoming. Nice airport. Sorry, I missed you.
Are you based in Douglas? I tried using the payphone, but it didn't work.

I'm in Casper but I go through that airport often. I have not tried the payphone yet. There are several in Wyoming, still, only one works.
Welcome to the flying equivalent of God’s country… Utah and Idaho
Utah was a different world when it came to flying.
@@GreatMichiganBushCo HA, it is great flying here. Hope you visited Mexican Mountain, Mineral Canyon, Happy Canyon, Hidden Splendor as well as Cedar Mountain which has incredible views from the south end over the cliff
@@Bearhawk_Life We did. It will be in the part 2 video. I have renamed "Hidden Splendor" to "Overt @sspucker" 🙂
@@GreatMichiganBushCo love it, it makes for a great video approach! It’s the only strip I’ve landed in Utah the comes close to the technical flying in Idaho. I look forward to the next video
@@Bearhawk_Life Idaho might be next years trip. I wanted to fly Utah first to get a feel for high density altitude flying and valleys. I didn't get as much experience as I wanted. We lost two days in Utah to weather and I think after those two days I'd have felt a bit more comfortable. We also missed some of the Utah flying I'd have liked to see. Yet, next year Utah might still be on the calendar.
That looked completely boring.
We were moving through quickly. There was a goal to get to Utah.
