- The Stinson 108 was out of annual and hadn't flown in a week. It was time to go out and fly. I need to find some friends and was on a mission after a coupe airports I was having fun, but no friends, suddenly family shows up and what was tagged in the beginning to be a mundane day suddenly turns into one I will never forget!
What an incredible moment and great memory you'll never forget. Very happy for you and thank you for sharing that moment.

I would like to come north, it's tough to find the weather windows and time so far this winter. If the straights start to freeze I'd sure like to head up that way.

I made it to Romeo. That's where I found my son with the other airplane. It was really enjoyable to meet him and go flying with him.

How should I go about finding training for sport pilot? Thanks!
Go to the nearest airport and start asking questions. You will find a flight instructor who will be more than happy to take you up on a discovery flight. After that they will be more than happy to explain the process to you. If you're in the Detroit area stop into Oakland Troy airport.
@@GreatMichiganBushCo Thank you. I am very close to that airport. It seems like all the programs are geared towards private pilot based on internet search. I did a discovery flight over 2 years ago and have since realized sport pilot would be much more realistic based on cost and lack of AME
@@DanS-dc5vu the availability of sport sport aircraft can be a problem. You don't find many for rent since they are limited by the number of pilots who want to rent an aircraft that falls into the sport category. At one point Troy had a skycatcher available but I don't believe they're renting that any longer. If you don't have any medical issues, look into basic med as a way to limit the number of trips to an AME while flying is a private pilot. The requirements between private pilot and sports pilot from a training standpoint are minimal.
