- American University history professor Allan Lichtman developed a system that has accurately predicted every presidential election since 1984 (with one exception: he predicted Al Gore, who did win the popular vote but lost to George W. Lipmann turned out to be one of those fellow Talmudist Mike Podhorzer contacted to influence the braindead part of the electorate to vote for Biden. Time magazine has an article about all the manipulation that was oundertaken under the guise of "saving democracy." Molly Ball's article slyly didn't mention how public opinion polls were manipulated, and especially how "professors" like Lichtman were brought on board to swing people in swing states who otherwise would not vote out of protest and frustration to agree to have Democratic door-to-door ballot harvesters wait till they filled their ballot because "if you don't vote Trump will win." Public opinion polls and "predictors" like this guy don't reflect the present reality but try to influence it. Hopefully, you aged in wisdom.

The piecemeal and incomplete manner in which the U.S. has dealt with the lockdown has probably prolonged the suffering. The whole while, that some states were shut down, others remained open. People continued to travel back and forth, taking the virus with them. Also, a fair enough amount of population in the U.S. don't believe in mitigating the spread.
I keep saying it: as a nation, the U.S. never attempted to starve out the virus. Instead, we put down the welcome mat and invited it in for dinner.
Maybe we should have locked the doors for a while and pretended that we weren't home? All of us. Certainly not for a year! Maybe for two weeks? Three? I don't know.
Unfortunately, we won't know for a long time if an alternative approach would have been more successful. What we do know is that most of the countries that tried something different have fared better, so far. We also know that the current approach resulted in the deaths of approximately 165,000 people. If we stay on this course, another 135,000 more are expected to be dead by year's end.
Statistically, it may not seem like a lot. However, to the people who have lost someone that they loved (in some cases, more than one) it's a lot.

So, if 2016 was a tough call (meaning, close), explain how 2012 is not, based on the polling? For someone to talk about 2004 as not being a tough call, even though Kerry only losing Ohio by 2% was the difference between him winning the election and in 2012, Romney lost Florida by less than 1%, which if he hadn't, he would have won more electoral votes than Hillary did.
So, if Kerry was an easy call to lose despite it only being 2% that decided the vote, or of Romney was close enough that less than 1% would have resulted in him doing better than Hillary, I'd have to say you have some very odd metrics that you make your assertions off of.
