Wow! crazy! These trucks are full of these hidden features. Try pressing the driver side window button while the window is already up. It goes back DOWN!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
@@HealtherSkelter I mean mine still forces the truck into park and flashes the shift knobs lights while reminding me how dumb I am on the dashboard with a message, also flags a warning code in the computer if you do it to often. I see absolutely no reason for a computer controlled fly by wire shift knob to move on its own when all the truck/car needs to do is beep a warning and display a reminder. Then again I often forget about the intelligence level of most drivers these days so whatever I guess.
I do believe a lot of these features depend on trim level test each different 1500 in a controlled environment to ensure your trim level has this feature. If it does not when you get out, the truck will roll away.
In mine, which is the 2019 sport, it applies the brakes, and puts the vehicle in park and switches on the emergency feature, so the vehicle cannot roll away. So for instance, the truck was in drive and you jumped out of it, leaving it in. Drive the truck will park itself and lock out the parking brake amazing emergency feature. You don't have to do anything, it's automatic.
@5280Supermotocrew I did the same shortly after I got mine 😂 went to check the mail and had to open the door to reach, truck goes into park and I can't move the dual or anything, I was genuinely panicked because I had no idea what happend. The most stupid feature to add to any vehicle
@@NJHC21this actually just happened to me 😅 someone road raging tried pulling me out of my truck and it just wouldn’t stay in drive. Scariest shit ever… good thing he listened to my warning because he was about to walk away wishing he hadn’t got out of his car. Safe to say my car doors will never be unlocked again. For some reason my lock was all gunked up causing it to get stuck unlocked. I sprayed half a can of silicone into all my locks when I got home
It was a recall on some of stellantis vehicles so the vehicle would do that. A baseball player I believe was ran over and killed in his own driveway because he didn’t put his vehicle in park and that’s why stellantis vehicles now have this feature
Yup. Happened to me yesterday when I mistakenly turned off the truck in drive. I just bought the truck on Christmas Eve so I freaked out for a second.😅
😂 here's another trick... after driving, put your foot on the break, stop, put the truck in park, keep your foot on the break, open your door and put the truck in reverse.
That's not a hidden feature. I'm sorry to say but that's a safety feature because my 2016 Dodge 1500 does the same thing when you forget to put it in park when you shut your truck off it automatically goes to park from Drive
Yeah I bought a Rebel used with 35,000 miles on it. It’s at nearly 51,000 now and I only had to replace the battery, normal oil changes and flushed the rear differential fluid recently as well.
That the auto stop start thing where the truck shuts off if you stop for a while. When you left off the brake it starts the engine again. You press the button to deactivate that feature.
I found this out immediately because I’m one of the dump people they implemented this feature for.
Same. I have an 2014 that does this except the knob doesn’t spin so it doesn’t look cool 😂
Me too on my 2020. Turned off the front and rear sensors when I thought I hit someone backing out 😂😂
Same here😂 done it several times and I crank it back up to shift properly
@@southmadethis7767 I have a 2017 and it just makes crazy ass robot noises then shifts to park lol
Hahaha, my exact thoughts
When a Ford guy steps into modern times and tries out a quality truck.
Fords do the same thing. And they have for a long time.
Column shifter and console shifter.
Ram came up with this first in 2009, Ford copied it in 2011.
Ford stellantis and chevy are all making pure garbage bud
Wow! crazy! These trucks are full of these hidden features. Try pressing the driver side window button while the window is already up. It goes back DOWN!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
My 2017 does this as well, minus the knob turning which I'm grateful for since there is no reason for it to move.
They made it standard after the Star Trek actor died at his house from his Jeep rolling back down and crushing him in his driveway.
@@HealtherSkelter I mean mine still forces the truck into park and flashes the shift knobs lights while reminding me how dumb I am on the dashboard with a message, also flags a warning code in the computer if you do it to often.

Its the autopark feature, the Chrysler dial shifts have it back to at least 2017. Mine have a service bullitin to have it turned on, some got missed.
My 2015 dodge ram 1500 does the same thing my knob just doesn’t turn
…Ok? Do you want to be pecked?
My 2016 screams at me like a housewife when I do this
I do believe a lot of these features depend on trim level test each different 1500 in a controlled environment to ensure your trim level has this feature. If it does not when you get out, the truck will roll away.
My 2014 base model has it
My 2018 Big Horn does that without turning the knob.
Common sense..not a hidden feature its a safety feature 😂
Exactly lol

I figure that out when I open the door in drive…
I found out the hard way what opening the door does 😆 🤣
Is there a way to bypass that function? I hate it
@@allbayfishing9456yeah sounds like a potential risk. What if I’m being carjacked? I don’t want my truck to help them😂

My 2017 does this. Still not 100% used to the dial shifter but it has grown on me.
Rotary gear shifter?
The relevant part is not shown. If you switch off while not in P, it goes in ACC mode instead of completely turning off. Very useful.
Lol just noticed this the other day cool feature for sure.. loving my 24 RAM laramie Black on black night edition...
It was a recall on some of stellantis vehicles so the vehicle would do that. A baseball player I believe was ran over and killed in his own driveway because he didn’t put his vehicle in park and that’s why stellantis vehicles now have this feature
It would be a lawsuit if they didn’t have this 😂
My 2016 durango does this. The difference is that the knob didn't turn. Just the light changes
I have a 2015 ram 1500 and I always drove a 2000 f150 manual so when I turned the ram off it did that too, it's crazy but amazing
If you are not wearing your seatbelt while on drive and open the door it will stop by itself and engage the parking brake
Another cool feature if you open the door why the car is in forward/reverse, it puts it in park automatically
Love my 2019 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi 4 x 4 another neat trick put the truck in drive or reverse open the door and step out
😂 I tried backing up with the door open and learned that lesson.
@@timothy468 my truck will stop
Yup. Happened to me yesterday when I mistakenly turned off the truck in drive. I just bought the truck on Christmas Eve so I freaked out for a second.😅
Yep. Ever since the Star Trek guy was run over by his own car.
Hardly a “hidden” feature. The owner’s manual describes this feature fully.
It’s not crazy , it’s safety , but I think you was a Chevy guy !!!
Correct me if I m wrong. Wasn't it a Jeep Grand Cherokee that rolled and killed an actor? They did this to prevent that.
This has worked as far back as 2014!
Tried it, thats a nice safety feature.
My 2017 will set in parking when I turn off, and it's in drive.
What about if the truck won't start and you have to tow it with a strap, it will do the same on neutral? 😅
If you leave the driver door open and will it's in drive it will put a brake on under 2mph
2015 chrysler300 has that too 👌
Not a hidden feature it’s a feature created to prevent rolling like it did to the Star Trek actor in his Jeep. It’s in every Chrysler vehicle 😂
All this over engineered electronic magic is fine until it all starts going to crap. As a diy guy mine terrifies me.
Didn’t know that !!! Awesome
Thats makes my love this truck
Weird the shifter automatically goes into Park when turning off the vehicle in drive
😂 here's another trick... after driving, put your foot on the break, stop, put the truck in park, keep your foot on the break, open your door and put the truck in reverse.
My fords do this. Try opening the door and remove the seat belt
My emergency brake engages when I do this. 2022 1500 bighorn
Most annoying feature of this truck, buckling the seat belt overrides this.
Will also do it if you try to move forward or backwards with the door open.
Crack the door and then try and drive . It slams it back in park
Yea mind do that to but if you put your truck in drive and opening up the door it will do the same thing
My 2015 does it too
My 2013 do it too
My 98 does this too
my 67’ does it too
@@5.7bethesda cap
wow that's crazy It happens the same with a Honda pilot lmfao a lot of these newer cars do that now
My 2004 Toyota Prius has this 😂
I thought all push to start cars did this? My 2014 bmw does
Not a hidden feature, read the owner’s manual.
Wish it had a stick shift
My 2023 does this too. I did it on accident then realized its in park. 😅 stupid knob its been 5 months and still not used to it.
My sister needs this
80% of newer vehicles do this
Sometimes when im in reverse and dont hit the brakes I hit something behind me.
Wont let you remote start it if you do that...
All electronic shifters have that.
Safety
For dummies who forget
Older vehicles would roll off on you
Always fricken put it in PARK when getting out or you’ll say goodbye to your vehicle
F150 the column shifter moves does the same
Yes and do you know why this feature is there? I give you the answer it's because people were being run over and killed by their own trucks.
This is not new, Ram has had this for years!!!!!
The real question is ... What song is playing in the background
If you think that's crazy, put the truck in drive under your seat belt, open the door and get out.
I found that out trying to back up to a trailer with my door open
How do we shut this shit off?
Blown away.
Not a hidden feature, it’s a safety feature
My 21 1500 Classic does that but knob does not turn.
My 2015 Ram does this, it just doesn't move the knob
Yes crazy
My 2015 durango does this
i did it the first ride back to my house lol. does it fuck up anything up doing this? i havent had it happen since.
My 2016 does this
That's not a hidden feature. I'm sorry to say but that's a safety feature because my 2016 Dodge 1500 does the same thing when you forget to put it in park when you shut your truck off it automatically goes to park from Drive
It’s on all 2021 Dodge Ram models
My 2014 dose this only because I barley closed the door
How a safety feature can be crazy ? 😂
Paying extra money to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things to thier cars.
It's call electronic shifter 😂😊
Open the door while in gear it will do same thing
It’s about speed not dial position
I hate the door feature can’t drive with door open I was like wtf haha and mines a 19
Ford did that in like 2016ish
My 19 slt also does that
These trucks reliable?
Yes, very.
Yeah I bought a Rebel used with 35,000 miles on it. It’s at nearly 51,000 now and I only had to replace the battery, normal oil changes and flushed the rear differential fluid recently as well.
fuck no, don’t get one of the new rams. i have one and so do some of my buddies and all we’ve had are cam issues
240Kms, only had to do regular maintenance. Doubt this guy above has a Ram. Sounds like a Ford guy
Neat
My tradesmen did that too
What's that A button with the arrow for?? Under the 4wd.
That the auto stop start thing where the truck shuts off if you stop for a while.
When you left off the brake it starts the engine again.
You press the button to deactivate that feature.
Yeah so if someone opens the door while parking it blows your trans: nice feature
My 14 ram did it as well All Chrysler cars do it
Same with 2015 1500
Not a hidden feature it’s a safety deal lol
My 2020 powerwagon has it
Crazy😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😊
Its not a hidden feature it's so stupid people can't mess up the vehicle
Ford F150 does the same thing
Mines a 2016 slt and it has the same feature , 🤙
My 2015 does the same
That’s not hidden that’s a safety feature
It’s not a hidden feature people been knew about this 😂
