This video got me back into making chiptunes after over decade away from them. I'm currently in Osaka with a gamboy I bought from Akihabara last week and I'm having the time of my life. Thanks so much for the inspiration and the information!
wow thank you so much for sharing, that's so awesome to hear! i hope i've earned a subscription :D
This is so sick. Incredible reliance on your intuition and focused on moving forward...never staying stuck for too long. Great stuff!
I love this!
This could be the best chiptune song I've ever heard! Need to watch this in full, I use my WAV channel for only drum samples, which is restricting what I can do with bass and only leaves me one lead channel
Bravo! 10/10
thanks so much!!
@@DEFENSEMECHANISM Really been struggling with getting my bass to sound even as close as yours! Mine sounds super weak! If you ever did a bass tutorial I would be forever grateful!
This was incredibly helpful, more so than a lot of tutorials! Just started with LSDJ and seeing someone's real process is just great. Thank you!
You have crazy skill with this, really impressive
Very interesting. GameBoy was when I was working abroad for many years, never noticed there was LSDJ until recently. It looks very fun. Thanks for showing how to do it.
That's a sick tune.
This is lovely!!
thank you Toni!!!
Really cool how you audiate and vocalize your ideas
I will need to watch this more than once and try harder at lsdj. I bought a smart card many years ago but i never really learned how to use it propperly. I switched to nanoloop mono and two instead (beacause of the sound) but lsdj is more suitable for writing longer compositions. This video is very impressive. Thank you :D
This is sick. I just loaded up LSDJ on my flash cart and have no idea what I'm doing, but I found your video while looking for tutorials and it was cool to see the steps you go through.
that's so cool!! let me know if you have any questions about it! :D
Wizard
Nicely done
Very cool and helpful video!
Loved seeing you work out this little beauty of a tune. Educational and inspirational.
You deserve way more subs just for this video. Thanks man!
Beautiful
That’s litteraly fire 😻
This is a jam and a half dude! \m/
Sounds epic!
more BotBrs should do this, it would be a great resource
The retrigger volume trick is so smart!
This is actually so interesting to see what your workflow is like! Awesome content!
your good!
I've never joined an XHB before. It could be useful to expand my skillset, perhaps...
It would also allow me to make a lot more music, as I currently spend 15-30 hours on one track. :P
That was excellent, i loved the 2nd lead, the chord progression and the drop. I was really impress by the fact that you incorpore the mix and the expression during the arrangement. Your attention is everywhere during the process 👏 And did you have a guitaristic background ? I can feel some sort of « guitar licks » in your lead 🎸 Many thanks to share this, it was very intersting for an old 8 bit music lover 🎼
thank you!! i don't have much guitar background but i have listened to a lot of guitar!
Fun video! Strangely motivational???
damn that sounds so good lol
Great job bro! Do you have any tips for beginners?
basically just try playing around with it and have fun! feel free to use the manual as a reference but don't feel like you have to read the entire thing. studying other people's save files was one thing that gave me a lot of ideas - all my save files are available at defensemech.com/songs if you're interested in checking them out too!
i also recommend checking out save file walkthroughs - there are some videos on my channel that might be helpful. if you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
F fantasy sound?
Thanks for this video really helful. Can i ask what kind of input display are you using?
it's this discontinued software with a custom skin github.com/KernelZechs/open-joystick-display
@@DEFENSEMECHANISM thanks, im gonna look for it, thanks for your time. Im gonna watch your videos too, what version are you using in this video?
@@x4ndro good question! the lsdprj will work with versions 9.2.J and newer
What font is that? The channel headers look cool!
thanks! you can find it as the very last font at the bottom of this page psgcabal.github.io/lsdfonts/
what? lsdj doesn't have expand/shrink selection?!?!
hmmm it does....!
@@DEFENSEMECHANISM well you could have used it at 1:04 !!! WOWOWOOWOWOWOW
@@langelbookbinder273 maybe i don't know what expand/shrink selection is ._.
@@DEFENSEMECHANISM in famitracker and renoise it will double/half the space used by the selection
