Hi guys! I just tried this with raisins and it was the first time. I like cookies a lot and these came out nice. Will try this again another day. Thank you for this vidéo 😊
This recipe is really good! For those who have not tried it yet, here are some of my tips for you: 1. Baking Powder Substitute Basically I do not have Baking Soda, the ones that I have are unclean because I use it for cleaning. So you can add 2-3 tsp of baking powder to substitute it. 2. Submerge the raisins in hot water I saw this in another recipe and decided to try it out. You would first notice some color wearing off but it’s fine! If you have really big raisins like mine, try to cut it into small pieces. There is no limited time to how long you should soak it 2-3 min would be fine if you’re using really hot water! You should drain the water away. Put one into your mouth and you’ll realize that it got juicier. Then just add it into the dry ingredients and mix it together. 3. Baking Time I preheated my oven about 10min. I set it to about 180 degrees Celsius and put it in my oven for around 10-12min. Different oven varies so when it seems solid light brown, it’s probably ready! 4. I placed 1/2 a cup more raisins for mine, you should try it too! I wish everyone all the best and hope you found my changes and the recipe a helpful one! Let’s all enjoy the joy of baking together ❤️❤️
I'm totally blind and I love to bake. Your video is wonderful, very descriptive and very easy to follow along. You get to the point and it's wonderful.
Thank you Sarah for that wonderful easy recipe. I am making it almost weekly for over a year. They are gone very quickly. You are right, the best thing is to make several batches at the time, and freeze them. My suggestion to others....before you do it, put on baking sheet the individual amounts and put them in the freezer for a couple of minutes, than pack them. When you're going to bake the cookies, much easier to separate them, than a big batch.
They tasted great when I made them. I thought we had no butter so instead O used 4 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil and turned out perfect. And I later found butter.
I just did this recipe and I am impressed. I cut the ingredients by half and just used a tablespoon of brown sugar and a tablespoon of Splenda instead of white sugar. As a result the mixture is a bit more runny so I added 1 tbsp of the flour. It was enough for about 8 cookies. I also substituted the raisins for cranberries. They came out VERY tasty, natural and chewy and the sweetness was perfect, my family loved it. Thank you so much for this video!
I have SIX kids...and I'd like to think we are "Cookie Conniseurs"....and this recipe IS good...but I suggest adding a couple of teaspoons of cinnamon....you will be shocked at the immense difference it makes to the flavor of the cookie! oh...and thanks sarah.
I am 13, and I made these they were delicious!! the only tips I have- add some cinnamon for some nice flavor (I put a little in the batter and some on the top of the cookie) sprinkling the cinnamon was a great idea add a little less oatmeal (there was a lot of oatmeal and the ratio of oatmeal to batter was a bit off) enjoy!! they were delicious 😋 thank you Sarah!! 🖤🖤
Best recipe ever for oatmeal cookies. ..I made some on the weekend and it was super hit. I kept the whole stick of butter, added 3/4cup brown sugar and added 1/4cup ground almonds. .it was delicious
OMG, made this for a bake sale and they were a hit, it was so good, people were begging me for the recipe, and I said, you can say that to sarah! THAK YOU SARAH
Amazing cookies. I just made them for my family. I had a large ice-cream scoop, so ended up with just 8 large cookies. Everyone loved them. Thanks a lot.
I made the cookies and they are the best thing I've ever made! I changed the recipe a little by using cranberries and putting cinnamon in the mixture..thanks for the recipe!
My son made these and they were great!! We did use quick oats because that's all we had but they turned out! We just used about a quarter cup more of the quick oats. They didn't last long but now we have a new favorite for life! Thank you! Also we added chopped walnuts and cinnamon can be used but these were great without it.
Thank you sarah i almost gave up on making oatmeal cookies ,i tried so many recipes and they always came out bad ,so you were my last chance and oh boy they came out perrrrrfect cant stop eating them ,i love them and so easy thank you my sister love you ,greetings from aruba 🤗😘
I used coconut oil instead of butter and it tasted absolutely delicious! Gave it a delicious coconut taste. This will definitely be my go to oatmeal cookie!
Just made 2 batches. These are yummo! So little flour, and they are crisp and chewy. Not dry and cakey as some are. I'll be making again. Thanks for the recipe. I'm bringing some to work tomorrow, I predict they last a half hour....🤣
My first try at cookies and I tried this one and now I have to bake them again and again because of demand :D..My hubby keeps asking me to bake them more often..Love you and thank you Sarah :)
Did you a hand mixer or a stand mixer? I have both, but since I bought my Stand Mixer after not having one for so many years, I would rather use that. Probably doesn't give you the exact same results when creaming
Sarah!!! Thank u soooo much! I was looking for a oatmeal cookies recipe from my soviet childhood, how those were sold from the store, and couldn't find it. SOMEHOW, 😊😂 ur recipe is the exact authentic taste I was looking for! THANK YOU DEAR!
Thanks for the recipe Sarah. . I made them yesterday with Gluten free flour instead. They were awesome. Just a bit salty for my taste so I think for next time I’ll reduce the salt amount and maybe try to add some cinnamon. Can’t wait.
Well today I made the best homemade oatmeal raisin cookies..I don't usually foll..ow directions when I bake🤷🏽♀️anyway I had used 3tbs light butter with canola oil...because I was experiencing 😆...I had forgotten the egg,no baking soda teaspoon cinnamon...and had all the rest just measured somewhat for about 6 cookies.Oh! stired with spoon...350..for 10-15 minutes...Praise the Lord they were soooo good ate all of them a bit crunchy and chewy...Thanks for the Tutorial 👍
The Critz it's so difficult to get an answer on some of these channels. I suggest letting the dough thaw in the refrigerator and then cooking them as normal which was 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 or 12 minutes she said.
Good awesome video! I like how you're quick and to-the-point but very thorough and effective in teaching us and helping us learn to make good oatmeal! just like most guys on Guy videos you're quick and to-the-point I like that a lot that attracts more viewers!
i used canola oil instead of butter ,but i did add extra 1/4 cup flour and maybe less than 1/4 cup of oatmeal bcs i'm worried about the texture of the dough 😂 but it turned out GREAT too ! thankyou for sharing !💕
My first time to make oatmeal cookies and I made it successfully!! Crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside.. 😊 Just one question. How can I make this with less sugar? My grannies have diabetes and I would like to bake for them with less sugar.
hey! i try to make them healthier. But you might use sugar substitute and steel cut oatmeal is a healther alternative but not as good. Just my two cents from a raisin gallery over here.
Thanks for sharing! I love oatmeal raisin cookies, the thought of making my own fills me will gleeriden joy, lol! If you decide to freeze the dough, how long do you let it thaw before cooking?
omg i just made these cookies & they taste amazing! the texture also unbelievably good, chewy, but also crispy on the egdes. super yum! thank you Sarah!!
This is how I like cooking videos, straight to the point!! I just baked this using chocolate chips instead of raisins and they are delicious :D

It came out to be beautiful
anju Bhagirath that’s what I’m gonna do
@@softenedbutter8400 well the brown sugar is the one who makes the cookies chewy. U can try another recipe without brown sugar.

Nutmeg and cinnamon a 'must" in oatmeal cookies.
Cinnamon, YES. Nutmeg, no.
Amy Scott - Thanks Amy the extra cinnamon made them awsome!
Always add cinnamon and we like to add walnuts and coconut too.
