I saw somewhere that declaring bankruptcy doesn't absolve you of your obligation to the government, however. He might screw his creditors, which he seems very adept at doing, but obligation to pay these judgements does not go away.

Its not even clear that seizing his real estate assets would be enough to satisfy the bond payment considering that many of his properties have outstanding liens against them. Just how much equity does he have? Seizing 40 Wall Street may not be worth the trouble because NY would have to assume payments of rent to the landowner. And if any other properties with outstanding liens were seized by NY, it would have to assume the debts owed on those properties.
Its no accident that none of the companies he approached would take any real estate as collateral for the bond payment. None of them trust that valuations that he has provided to them. The irony is rich considering how he got into this predicament in the first place.
He could have just sat in his golden penthouse in the sky and gone undetected for years. But nooooooo, he had to be president, because his little feelings were hurt by Obama at the press corp dinner. And in exposing himself to the public, it brought all his crimes to light. Hope it was worth it

Property seizure isn't for anything to do with bond. The DA seizes property to satisfy the judgement (penalty) on the verdict.

Truth Social is a weak link in his portfolio. The stock price is basically Monopoly money because the subscribers and revenue are woefully low. They lost $50m last year. The projected $5b value can't hold up.

Bankruptcy can discharge (eliminate) most judgments. The same debts that are dischargeable through bankruptcy can also be discharged even when there is a judgment attached. Only a few types of judgement debts are exempt from bankruptcy. When a debt is discharged, the debtor is no longer liable for the debt and the lender is no longer allowed to make attempts to collect the debt.

One fact overlooked by all of these people who claim tfg will make billions on this deal: he needs buyers for this sketchy stock maneuver. Maybe he'll make good money on the first tens of thousands of shares he sells, but from that point on the stock will fall like a brick from 10,000 feet: there will not be enough buyers to keep the stock at its preferred price. A glut in supply always drives the price down. I bet $DWAC will be a penny stock before the end of the year, & tfg will not see much benefit from it.
There's also the possibility that $DWAC's collapse will kill tfg's chances for this November.

Engagement is down 40% to 513k daily users. Compare that to the smallest of the big socials Twitter/X at 217M daily users or even Reddit that has 70M daily users and is only valued at $1B or $14.28/daily user. Using that math TS would be worth 513,000•14.28= $7.3M.
Trump's share of that is just $4.2M

If she sells the building quickly, and it doesn't sell for much, it doesn't affect how much she ends up with by even one cent. Instead it just means she'll sell more and more of Trump's stuff. Forbes should get reporters who understand something about finance.
Also, NYAG doesn't get any benefit on waiting for a miracle to happen with valuations. The market is what it is, and these properties are not well maintained and have all kinds of shady schemes. The process gets started and it will move on its own pace.
Forbes didn't misunderstand a thing. All the narrator said was that selling the building quickly would net a lot less than $47MM; that is correct. It was not in reference to the total judgement at all. James will simply go down the lines on her spreadsheet, seized property by seized property, to arrange all the sales necessary to recover the total judgement. So theoretically tfg could end up with *many* of his properties seized and sold--which would be hilarious.
I think he's lying. This is the way he's always operated to avoid paying creditors or anyone else. Declare bankruptcy and just walk away.
