7:28 I used the 'dry ridge' system on the house I built; ventilated rolls that let vapour through from the roof space but keeps water out. The butyl tape sticks to any roof tile extremely well. It doesn't have the look of a pointed ridge, but it wont crack or fall out either. I'd use it again.

The mesh looks to be too fine, I would worry about it clogging up fairly fast. Notice all the particles floating around in your attic especially on a windy day? Here in Central US I have seen the many iterations over the years as the ridge vents changed. We learned small mesh does not work long term. Good luck with yours.

I watched a little more and the next morning
I loved using the metal framing kits when I built my 12 x 24 shop 17 yrs ago. At that time a kit to do a standard 8' x 7' was $49, and we bought 5 and I used 3 on my shop. Got all the framing, and walls raised and sheeted in 1 day.
Built an 8x12 shed for my mower and accessories. Easy to build with as a single person. I used construction screws so any mistakes/adjustments were remove screws, move, and re-screw.
3:00 I would use Rockwool here instead of Hybris, reviews say Hybris has better thermal conductivity, but Rockwool can be used for both insulation and sound-proofing, and it's easier to fill gaps with it.
Also, Rockwool will not burn, nor absorb water, Matt Risinger made a demo on one of his videos.
A friend who works on residential wiring says he a has often seen fully saturated Rock Wool.
@@YSLRD Not disagreeing, perhaps I should have worded it better in my first comment, but would love to see a test on how it saturates or dries up if submerged in water.

Straw houses: MAD (1 spark and then...)! Flexible "bricks" exist for some decades! Waterstop mortar I saw the first time in 1991!
Straw has been used for a long long time as an insulator. Tightly packed straw is exceptionally resistant to fire. Loose straw on the other hand can be very flammable.

All storm and foul water enters the sewage system and all foreign particles are removed apart from some non biological chemicals like dry cleaning fluids ( at least in the UK) so I cannot see the reason for those pipes.
This is amazing ideas fo someone that want to fix the house, and i think it is better.

a bunch of stuff to make really good materials with very good strength into cheap and weak materials with the look of the strong stuff.
Plastic dome homes would be nice. Vacation home? Cheap to make and easy to build would be great for the world. Snap it all together in a day. Would solve the homeless problem. Hope someone takes this idea and run with it. Like have a certain size dome. For strength to size ratio. Plastic lasts. Plastic windows and doors. All of it is plastic that snaps or screws in. Need a bigger home get another dome. Have parts to solid connect them. Everything the same size would help a lot. It will change the world. Remember me.😁

3D printing companies is changing the landscape along with manufacturing homes.
How many of these gadgets are plastic and will break down over a short period of time but cost to much. I'll guarantee the prices given are allot higher when you buy it from the stores.

Straw? The whole purpose of fiberglass was it is a very slow burn, giving you time to escape a fire. Straw is an invitation to become nothing but a statistic.

Mate, at min. 0:40 there are those "flexible bricks" which you know as well as anybody else, they only look like bricks... About those; you can trick the appearance, but you can't trick the quality of the building... About the straw used; just wait until some rodents discover their next home... And finally, you don't pay much for homes with such Solutions" but they also don't sell at what they would if real bricks and concrete would have been used. Just take a look at the earthquake in Turkey and you'll understand it's a disaster in the making. Cheers!

7:27 That product totally useless for the roof application. The matter of fact, actually blocking the venting of the attic. Ridge vents are the best way to vent an attic.

4:12, just because something is patented, doesn't mean it's a good product. The patent just grants you 17 years of exclusivity.

NOt anymore in the US, China copies it immediately. If you patent something then turn to China to manufacture it, it will be cloned ASAP. If not CHINA and use US manu it may take a year or so before they steal it.

#1 = We have had a thin brick type of product for years. You can't cut it with scissors, but some you can score & snap with a blade.
#2 = Only a claim useful in the installing process, so it may or may not be of use.
#3 = Regi-weld has been around since the 50s.
#4 = May be good, but no claim of its R value or decibel sound value. It's just cool looking for now.
#5 = Versetta Stone makes these and window surrounds.
#6 = I have no knowledge in this area, or what we have available in comparison.
#7 = My city has been installing these in certain areas over the last few years. Ours even have a ribbon or wave pattern flowing from one panel to the next, so not every panel is cast the same. It looks great.
#8 = You can absolutely get rockwool here.
#9 = Just another brand of something every metal roof supplier offers, some are much better and even keep wasps and things that like to make homes up there.
#10 = I guess that would work for someone who doesn't really know how to frame. But we already have hundreds of hanger types much better than those. (thicker and more joining shapes) So really you are buying the building instructions, that comes with inferior hangars.
#11 = We have those as well, I am just not familiar with the products name, but have seen it being installed. I remember thinking how cool that was, but that was probably 8-10 years ago. So, it's been around for a while.
#12 = A company just made columns with the holes already cast in them to make a universal pattern size. This only means something to the company who makes them, as you will purchase their entire system to erect your building.
It is no stronger, and the test of it being truly faster will be in sales of the product.

I have either been a Machinist or in construction my entire adult career of DANG... 37 years now.
The last 14 of them have been in commercial construction building/remodeling restaurants in several different states in the US, with the last 6 years being the General Superintendent.
I have seen all kinds of new and neat products being used that most people just don't notice, and why would they unless they are involved in the process. But a large number of these products just seem to disappear for one reason only. They do not meet up to the claims, and cost more in the long run.
I have gotten to build some very cool things a very few times, ($$$ Homes in Aspen Colorado) and this is100% because people just don't want to spend that much more on something that can function exactly the same way for less. Some people have enough money that they can do whatever they want to.
But if a product is better and can be built for the same price, or if it is similar to what is being used, and it will save money on the build, it will be in the Us lickety split.
And remember that Home Depot and Lowes are great, but they are "home improvement stores" and only carry what is known to sell in large volumes.
To find anything exotic, or the newest products available, you're going to have to go to specialty stores.
Your local lumber yard will have resources to find any products that they don't carry, and they will usually have things that the big places don't, because they cannot compete in the price with them.
If it is a good product, we will get it as soon as the claims are proven, I guarantee you that.
I installed some beautiful 3ft by 5ft exterior tiles on a franchise restaurant a few years ago, and they looked so good, and used to types of adhesives, so they were better for the environment as well, they went up super-fast, but we are paid the same, so I was excited for the next time that I got to see them as we do several different restaurant chains.
In a few months' time, that company had to go out of business because of a little clip that they provided had pulled away from the wall, causing the title to come off. Well, that is a big no-no in publicly accessible buildings, and crews had to be sent out to go ahead and apply an adhesive on all places who brought the product causing a price that put the company under.
I noticed the weak design in the clip and modified them on-site. Such a small problem and easy to reengineer, but it was too late, and it was such a superior product to what we were using, it's just a shame.
I imagine that there are countless stories of great products having horrible luck that led to their demise.

So great concept for the water filtration but it’s not uncommon to have engine oil leaks and spillage of diesel or petrol in car parks for various reasons. Surely there is not enough filtration and treatment built in for it to not require any further?
Need to run the water through a an Oil & Grit Separator after this to make it more complete. Systems like this are usually part of a storage system to slow down run-off which means you don't need as large of an OGS unit. OGS systems allow less dense pollutants (like oil and gas) to float to the top of the tank while the outflow is take from the middle of the tank (where the "cleanest" water is). All these systems need regular cleaning, though.
@@smgdfcmfah without the ability to scale this I can’t see it being a cost efficient and viable option or alternative. In different world maybe but still good concept and I could see it maybe being incorporated to niche unit. Water quality aside there is a use already for this in just allowing water to be absorbed and run off underground.
@@publicrelations9612 Cost is meaningless when government forces developers to install these types of things. The single most expensive part of a servicing contract is usually the Storm Detention/Filtration System these days - at least in my area.
@@smgdfcmfah I know mate it’s the long term contracted maintenance that provides the income and it’s wouldn’t be the first case such questionable decisions are made just to fill a political agenda as well the financial interests of connected individuals, lobbyists behind the projects. Madness. I didn’t realise this was the case for this one.
@@publicrelations9612 The long term maintenance isn't done by the manufacturer, though. This isn't even really about lobbyists and such, it's just that if you build a subdivision, the municipality will take it over when it's all complete and they will own the roads and services and maintain them. Subdivisions don't generally get these types of systems because the maintenance is expensive. Private property, on the other hand (condominium sites -r high rise or townhome or even single family dwellings) are forced to put in the most expensive types of water filtration systems there are because the condominium corporation will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance. It's just a case of government literally passing the buck back to the tax payer - while still charging them the full tax rate.
I keep watching these, thinking I will see my idea on here that someone else has pulled from the ether. Yet, I still never see my idea, just dancing around the possibilities.

Boss told me I had to come in for a meeting Wilson holiday, I didn't. He went apeshit. My mate is a corporate lawyer, he said want some money take this guy apart. So in future I tried to arrange overseas holidays during corporate conferences. The personal manager put this guy in his place. Transferred him to a distant town in another state.

Eff those ez builder brackets. Worst way to build. And get this I had to call support bc the plans didn’t add up right. So wasted material at peak lumber pricing and had to purchase more as was mid build. Funny part when I called support gave me “an updated version” of the plans like wtf. And those plans weren’t right either but I was able to wing it myself after that. Made an not so hard task into most miserable of my life.

For Hybris it's probly get a mold or others pest infestetions and even worker in demo do this incorect. Isolations need be spacus to work he leave gap, rockwool work better in this plus it's soundproof. I don't wanna be in atic room when it's storm when it's not soundproof...
As for SediPipe where all those inpurites go??? They need be sorted and utilized... Using central filtration facality is expensive but now we change cost of one facality to driving around town with cisters and clean crews.
The fake rubber brick is even worse than the ones made of clay.
Naturally most of these products aren't sold or implemented here in America. The lobbies are too powerful for common sense ideas.
Or they are not viable long term. We have some products that are better already. Some ideas from across the pond are good for sure, but not practical in the numbers we would need in the US. Our priorities right now are just to survive the "Idiot in Chiefs" destruction of our economy.

Why would anyone use a pice of plastic to reinforce a timber joint. This is unbelievable, not good building practice at all. Chowing gum could be better. Stick on bricks don’t last long. They appeared in N.Z.a few years ago, then disappeared very quickly, they feel off the wall quite quickly.
The insulation product is unavailable. In other words, scam, clickbait, and probably not even fireproof. I'll let you think of the rest. I would never allow it in my town (City inspector 😉) Why? Probably flammable. Nothing in this channel is a real product. We could use real innovation not just clickbait.
