My aunt and uncle own a bar/club and heard about the fire. They were shocked and saddened by it. They made regulations for parties and put a cap on how many people they would allow in for safety p, as before they would allow people in, and it would often get overcrowded, I would work the bar for some cash and I can say it would get so bad that people couldn’t move sometimes (not sure of safety) I then quit after finding out about the fire. Now they have safely in place, and have lots of new standards

The last story literally made me break down sobbing. It’s so painful when people are taken advantage of, to know he had a dream so passionate that he was willing to do anything to unite people. I'm a Joplin native. I remember helping my buddy dig through the remains of his home on Kingsdale half a mile from the pond where they found that kid. It was an indescribable scene, complete destruction all around for as far as you could see. I remember his father remarked how he'd hate to know what's at the bottom of those ponds. It wasn't long before they found out. Seeing those old broadcasts will probably never fail to send a chill up my spine. RIP to Will and all those who lost their lives on that nightmare day.

Absolutely insane. I’m from Seneca and was in highschool at the time but remember going to help search for people that night and clean the following days and weeks. Looked like a nuke had gone off. Still remember the smell of gas in the air from lines leaking and the utter shock everyone was in walking around just lost. RIP Will and all others lost.
I was actually on a road trip cross country and ended up in Joplin the day after the tornado hit. We arrived at night so we couldn't see anything but when we got up to find food nearby, we were shocked that we didn't notice anything. We didn't have internet or live TV in the car so we literally had no idea what happened until we got there. It was insane.
From Joplin, MO. The tornado was horrible and my family lived 2 blocks from the pond where Will's body was found. My brother graduated that day, and it was weird knowing I was in the building that day that the graduation video showed. Everyone was just laughing and not caring when the sirens went off, we heard it all the time. The next 20 minutes going home were some of the darkest of my life. My brother was Will's friend, and it was horrible what actually took place. He was missing for days and kids kept hearing "Will is in Springfield hospital," or "he was life flighted to Kansas City." So many people co tinued thinking he was alive until ultimately his body was found - he'd been slammed into the pond and branches covering the bottom held him in place. He was absolutely trapped below and couldn't come to the surface. RIP Will, I hope your family is well
My phone was supposed to move to Joplin in 2011. The house we were going to move into got decimated. Thankfully, my dad was away from work at the time because the hospital next to the place he worked got destroyed as well.

The last story was hard to sit through. My arab dad is bipolar and was tricked so many times, scammed out of most of his money and even threatened until he quit his job. He got no help from the authorities because of where he‘s from. We‘re not super close but it breaks my heart to think that he could’ve ended up the same way. The Joplin tornado was made significantly worse by the fact that it was “rain wrapped.” Tornadoes that drop into rain can be very dangerous because the rain makes the tornado hard to spot and sometimes invisible.
Thanks dude, I have always had the image of a giant looming cartoon tornado, but hearing they can be almost invisible is terrifying. Sadly, China takes drugs very seriously, and has an absolute zero tolerance policy. That will probably never change any time soon. But in places like Portugal and a few other European nations, they don't treat drug addicts as criminals. They treat them as if they have an illness that needs medical and psychological intervention and treatment.

I've been stating this for a long time now, they don't have legit therapists. They hire people to listen to your issues whose entire job is to record your conversations then sell it and your information to third party advertisers. It says so on their website. They're a scam but they scam people legally by posting all the info on their website.
For a lesser evil, their ad campaigns push a narrative that they're the only way to get affordable mental healthcare, when in reality there's tons of ways to get affordable mental healthcare - most providers have sliding scale payment plans based on your income, and for many of them they can work with you to be like even if you can only afford to come in once a month, they will work with you to get that once a month appointment. The place I go to is free with a lot of insurance providers (Including mine). Meanwhile I know one person said their ONE appointment on Better Help was like $600?? Even though that's significantly more than most other places charge.

One quick bit of information: Although I'm sure most people watching this are aware, I just wanted to include that almost all automatic garage door openers have a pull cord on the inside of the garage. So, if the power does go out before the door is completely open you can crawl in and pull the cord which disconnects the opener and you can raise the overhead door manually. Hope this helps anyone if they ever find themselves in such a situation.

The "Goodbye Santika" accident literally made me shiver from head to toe because it's almost identical to a fire that happened here in Brazil in a nightclub called "Kiss" where it killed 242 people (the accident completed a decade in January of this year). The power going down, the emergency exits blocked by hundreds of people... It was something so catastrophic that I can't help but cry just remembering it.
I said the same thing about the "KISS" nightclub in Brazil... As well as "The Station" nightclub in Rhode Island which had 100 fatalities.... The videos of both of those nightclubs on fire with all the ppl trapped is so terrifying and incredibly heartbreaking!! 😢🙏💜

Either the trafficker was intended to meet him just without the risk of carrying it or he had instructions of who he was supposed to meet and where he was supposed to go and that was a cover story. Also what doesn’t sit with me very well is this dude was possibly in support of terrorism, and outside a bad song which many people have recorded shitty songs in their lifetime there’s not much proof for him being seriously mentally ill. I haven't seen any evidence that they're "worse than not getting help at all", like I've heard they're not very good, like probably on par with or lower quality than the free therapists you can get through various community centers in a lot of places (who tend to be pretty terrible ime), also they sell user's data (but tbf, it p much tells you that right out of the gate in their ToS), but "worse than not getting help at all" is still a pretty bold claim

@@liselotteline8596 There have been red flags raised for quite a while for the quality of the services and therapists in the network, but the actual FTC charges for the straight up illegal stuff didn't come up until early March this year, so it seems reasonable to view the service before that as a "Well, some people do get a good matchup with a therapist, and others don't, so your mileage may vary". For any future sponsorships, they've definitely crossed the line, but if you asked me last year about the service I would have said that it seems like you take your chances with the quality, but it's not a 100% waste of time

I grew up in Thailand and the Santika event was massive news. Everyone was talking about it, including all the weird coincidental details discussed. All the safety standards were terrible, including flammable construction material, one fire extinguisher and literally one exit. It even became a setting for a horror movie.
I read up on it and the police tried to interfere and tamper with investigations because it was co-owned by a senior officer and illegally registered as a food vendor (and supposed to close at 12 under those guidelines)

To those of you not accustomed to tornadoes, do NOT remain in a vehicle when you see a twister. Vehicles and even mobile homes become airborne immediately (despite that stupid movie that had the pickup truck driving watching a cow fly by -- the exact opposite would happen). Drive the vehicle over a ditch or any low-lying area and get under it. You're better off lying flat on the ground than taking your chances inside what would be a projectile.
As a weather fanatic, that movie is called TWISTER, the tornadoes are not directly on top of the vehicle, mostly around it, but cannot blame you but it was a multi vortex. also i think cows are lighter than a 1995 dodge ram. (around 6,010 to 6,400 pounds) the movie rated it F-1, which is around 73-112 mph, most likely not enough to toss the truck, but blow it around a bit. (but I do agree with your comment good sir, being in a vehicle in tornadoes aren't safe at all.)
@@Strawblarri Many people do not take into account the aerodynamics of cows versus vehicles. It isn't about weight but how much air is going to be able to get UNDER it. Cows aren't entirely stupid, and when a massive storm is coming while they're pastured, they lie down. Try lifting that as opposed to a vehicle that has a good 15 inches of air space under its rather large wheel base. It isn't that cows don't end up blown into people's yards, but it's certainly a whole hell of a lot less common than ending up with a car, truck or mobile home landing there. And I have seen far too much of the latter first hand.

19:30 this story hits me the hardest, honestly, having grown up one state over to the east and in a town far more rural. tornadoes are a constant threat, to the point that yes, like the meme, many of us take it for granted and will just go outside and stare at the damn things. the town i grew up in sat in a bowl almost; my dad had once flown over it in a small plane with a friend and said it was like the town was in a crater. due to that, tornadoes would bounce off or disburse all together. i don't know if it's ever actually been hit with one before. didn't stop the terror and dread from coming when driving through neighboring towns and seeing the damages left behind. this story just reminds me of what could have so, so easily happened to us but thankfully never did. hits waaay too close to home.

They made regulations for parties and put a cap on how many people they would allow in for safety p, as before they would allow people in, and it would often get overcrowded, I would work the bar for some cash and I can say it would get so bad that people couldn’t move sometimes (not sure of safety) I then quit after finding out about the fire. Now they have safely in place, and have lots of new standards

I'm a Joplin native. I remember helping my buddy dig through the remains of his home on Kingsdale half a mile from the pond where they found that kid. It was an indescribable scene, complete destruction all around for as far as you could see. I remember his father remarked how he'd hate to know what's at the bottom of those ponds. It wasn't long before they found out. Seeing those old broadcasts will probably never fail to send a chill up my spine. RIP to Will and all those who lost their lives on that nightmare day.

Absolutely insane. I’m from Seneca and was in highschool at the time but remember going to help search for people that night and clean the following days and weeks. Looked like a nuke had gone off. Still remember the smell of gas in the air from lines leaking and the utter shock everyone was in walking around just lost. RIP Will and all others lost.
I was actually on a road trip cross country and ended up in Joplin the day after the tornado hit. We arrived at night so we couldn't see anything but when we got up to find food nearby, we were shocked that we didn't notice anything. We didn't have internet or live TV in the car so we literally had no idea what happened until we got there. It was insane.
From Joplin, MO. The tornado was horrible and my family lived 2 blocks from the pond where Will's body was found. My brother graduated that day, and it was weird knowing I was in the building that day that the graduation video showed. Everyone was just laughing and not caring when the sirens went off, we heard it all the time. The next 20 minutes going home were some of the darkest of my life. My brother was Will's friend, and it was horrible what actually took place. He was missing for days and kids kept hearing "Will is in Springfield hospital," or "he was life flighted to Kansas City." So many people co tinued thinking he was alive until ultimately his body was found - he'd been slammed into the pond and branches covering the bottom held him in place. He was absolutely trapped below and couldn't come to the surface. RIP Will, I hope your family is well

My phone was supposed to move to Joplin in 2011. The house we were going to move into got decimated. Thankfully, my dad was away from work at the time because the hospital next to the place he worked got destroyed as well.

The Joplin tornado was made significantly worse by the fact that it was “rain wrapped.” Tornadoes that drop into rain can be very dangerous because the rain makes the tornado hard to spot and sometimes invisible.
Thanks dude, I have always had the image of a giant looming cartoon tornado, but hearing they can be almost invisible is terrifying. I was wondering how the dad just saw the tornado when it was so close, but if it was rain wrapped it would make sense. Sadly, China takes drugs very seriously, and has an absolute zero tolerance policy. That will probably never change any time soon. But in places like Portugal and a few other European nations, they don't treat drug addicts as criminals. They treat them as if they have an illness that needs medical and psychological intervention and treatment.

I've been stating this for a long time now, they don't have legit therapists. They hire people to listen to your issues whose entire job is to record your conversations then sell it and your information to third party advertisers. It says so on their website. They're a scam but they scam people legally by posting all the info on their website.
For a lesser evil, their ad campaigns push a narrative that they're the only way to get affordable mental healthcare, when in reality there's tons of ways to get affordable mental healthcare - most providers have sliding scale payment plans based on your income, and for many of them they can work with you to be like even if you can only afford to come in once a month, they will work with you to get that once a month appointment. The place I go to is free with a lot of insurance providers (Including mine). Meanwhile I know one person said their ONE appointment on Better Help was like $600?? Even though that's significantly more than most other places charge.

One quick bit of information: Although I'm sure most people watching this are aware, I just wanted to include that almost all automatic garage door openers have a pull cord on the inside of the garage. So, if the power does go out before the door is completely open you can crawl in and pull the cord which disconnects the opener and you can raise the overhead door manually. Hope this helps anyone if they ever find themselves in such a situation.

The "Goodbye Santika" accident literally made me shiver from head to toe because it's almost identical to a fire that happened here in Brazil in a nightclub called "Kiss" where it killed 242 people (the accident completed a decade in January of this year). To those of you not accustomed to tornadoes, do NOT remain in a vehicle when you see a twister. Vehicles and even mobile homes become airborne immediately (despite that stupid movie that had the pickup truck driving watching a cow fly by -- the exact opposite would happen). Drive the vehicle over a ditch or any low-lying area and get under it. You're better off lying flat on the ground than taking your chances inside what would be a projectile.
As a weather fanatic, that movie is called TWISTER, the tornadoes are not directly on top of the vehicle, mostly around it, but cannot blame you but it was a multi vortex. also i think cows are lighter than a 1995 dodge ram. (around 6,010 to 6,400 pounds) the movie rated it F-1, which is around 73-112 mph, most likely not enough to toss the truck, but blow it around a bit. (but I do agree with your comment good sir, being in a vehicle in tornadoes aren't safe at all.)

Cows aren't entirely stupid, and when a massive storm is coming while they're pastured, they lie down. Try lifting that as opposed to a vehicle that has a good 15 inches of air space under its rather large wheel base. It isn't that cows don't end up blown into people's yards, but it's certainly a whole hell of a lot less common than ending up with a car, truck or mobile home landing there. And I have seen far too much of the latter first hand.

Every decision in China leads back to the CCP in some form, and their strange prideful ego of strong arming other countries. Love your videos and always look forward to them but Better Help is a scummy excuse for therapy. There's plenty of reviews out there that mention they scam people out of money and don't follow therapist regulations.
Went looking for a comment like this as soon as it was revealed, things like betterhelp are genuinely awful for people with mental illnesses

They don't actually have any actual therapists, they say this on their website. Their entire job isn't to help you but to record your conversation and then sell it.

The last story was utterly tragic. I am at a loss for words. That innocent albeit eerie song, was clearly indicative of an innocent troubled man. Why did the Chinese government do this? Like why? Execute a clearly unstable person to send a message? What message?

The "Come Little Rabbit" story is actually really freaky, 'cause when you stop and think about it, his song kind of DID actually unite the world (or at least much of it)-in trying to free him from China. Really ironic how that worked out.

If I've learned one thing from Nick's videos, the indoor use of fireworks and pyrotechnics almost always guarantees a tragedy will take place.
Especially around drunk people. Bad judgement and impaired coordination around indoor open flames in a crowded venue sounds like the worst idea on the planet.
i feel like anyone with a little brain power could figure that out. like it legit just takes a little thinking to realize that setting off explosions or giving people lit sticks indoors is a bad idea.
Rolf's survival and pursuit of the assailants is one of the most badass things Ive ever heard. Definitely reminds me of the ending of Sicario 2
Akmal Shaikh's story is so infuriating and heartbreaking. It demonstrates just how much more understanding and compassion is needed around mental illness, including awareness of how people like him are often taken advantage of. "Come Little Rabbit" may not be a musical masterpiece, but I can still deeply feel the wholesome intentions from his perspective. Although it was the basis of a severe delusion, it came from a good heart that genuinely wanted the world to be a better place. The Chinese government is absolutely monstrous for what they did to that innocent and vulnerable man who needed HELP, not lethal punishment.

You can't say that the mother's prayers were to no avail if her husband survived being shot in the head twice and burned and her daughters walked away basically unscathed.
The fact that Rolf was able to survive two gunshot wounds to the head AND being burned alive is definitely what I would call a Christmas miracle.

19:30 this story hits me the hardest, honestly, having grown up one state over to the east and in a town far more rural. tornadoes are a constant threat, to the point that yes, like the meme, many of us take it for granted and will just go outside and stare at the damn things. the town i grew up in sat in a bowl almost; my dad had once flown over it in a small plane with a friend and said it was like the town was in a crater. due to that, tornadoes would bounce off or disburse all together. i don't know if it's ever actually been hit with one before. didn't stop the terror and dread from coming when driving through neighboring towns and seeing the damages left behind. this story just reminds me of what could have so, so easily happened to us but thankfully never did. hits waaay too close to home.
