- I entered the Bounty Hunters Fishing Tournament. The biggest fish of each species wins $5000, and the heaviest fish from a kayak wins $2000.
The competition is located on the Coromandel peninsula, an area home to some of NZ's best fishing. With an awesome forecast for day one I've got high hopes going head to head against over 300 anglers!

Hey man came across you yesterday and I gotta admit you have some quality fishing and video work. Though your numbers are climbing if you keep this up I think you will find huge success. As and angler and kayaker I am aware of the skill that it requires to do what you are doing. Keep it up and I look forward to your next video.

Hi. Matt. Great videos I'm all caught up with them. Unfortunately I had a bad day on the water and need spine surgery soon upside I was rescued I hate sharks now and the shark totally destroyed my kayak so I'm bed bound. I've fished a lot of tournaments and keep any big fish you can decide your way end fish I hope that helps. And thank you for your videos dude tight lines matt
Matt everyone thinks I'm crazy 🤣 I ordered a brand new reload pro. $1789 us. They don't get it. It's not the price it's not pain from my spine it's not the the huge force from the shark hitting the kayak. it's the next fish on. But I had to promise I wouldn't go out by myself until I heal from surgery. But I'll let you know how it handles once it comes in.. O thank you for the video s I can't do anything but freshwater fish 🐟 not the same so looking forward to seeing your next video
nice man the competition looked a lot of fun. i've only ever entered 1 fishing comp in my life. that JD was a good size sucker. plan to try a kayak mothership mission with bounty hunter one day?
cheers bro, definitely adds another element to the fishing. honestly though i kind of prefer fishing without the pressure lol. no plans on a mother trip on bounty hunter unfortunately, simply cant afford it.

@@NomadicKayakFishing I only really fished as a kid, and I've only caught one Johnny. Was 5yrs old with a warehouse kids rod. To me it was like fighting a whale ha ha

Yep it's a solid softbait set. Sturdy build and crazy drag, the slammer is an impressive reel. Very pleased with it

Do you have to keep the fish to enter it they should make it different so that you can do catch and release
