We're protesting for the Electoral Truth and Justice. Venâncio Mondlane won the elections for the presidency in Mozambique; but once again FRELIMO (the ruling party since Mozambique's independence, running the country for nearly 50 years) rigged the elections and announced their candidate as the winner. Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in the world while being one the world's richest in minerals, gas, coal, land, beautiful coast... More than 60% of our people live in extreme poverty while the elite running the country live like billionaires with mansions in Mozambique and overseas. We have no education, no hospitals, no infrastructure. We've voted for Venâncio Mondlane but they are trying to take the voting power of our people away. We've had enough of the injustice, the killings, the kidnappings, the poverty and the police brutality as we peacefully protest. More than 100 people have been murdered by the police and many are missing! We want change. Our President Venâncio Mondlane won with 53% when Frelimo got around 20+%. We've presented over 300 kilos of evidence to the Constitutional Council which proves that Venâncio won on a landslide. We don't want the elections to be cancelled! We don't need an emergency government! We don't need a unity interim government! We just want Venâncio to be announced the rightful winner of the Elections this past October 9th and take over our nation. POWER TO THE PEOPLE 💪🇲🇿❤️

I feel that the wrong questions have been asked and thus the wrong answers have been given. A core issue with African countries is that the first political party out of colonialism gets seduced by western corporations and that's how Mozambique, as one example, has a situation with multinational interests in these mines. These foreign entities come with knowledge, expertise, and an overwhelming amount of cash, and suck ruling parties into 50-year agreements. In return they give nominal handouts, which in themselves are not enough to make significant impacts on these countries economies and social structures---and that is aside from government corruption... African politics has become the most lucrative business for this reason and that is why ruling parties fight tooth-and-nail to stay in power. The United Nations and European Union can condemn these issues until they turn blue in their faces but it is corporations spawned under their governments and on their territories that are a BIG part of the problem---if not the cause. Said corporations are happy to keep these African nations unstable as, ultimately, it spells an easy in for them. Let's go deeper: Said corporations are part of powerful conglomerates in their own countries---so much so that they are kingmakers sponsoring electoral campaigns and essentially buying political leaders. One can argue that it is not so, but if one has to ignore all the laws and legislature regulating the connection between corporations and politics and look at where it starts and where it ends, that is exactly what it amounts to: buying presidents and prime ministers, and they often hedge their their bets. And so, with the president of choice in power, they have a lot more latitude to "negotiate" contracts in these developing countries as their arsenal then also includes foreign policy, diplomacy, destabilisation by clandestine forces and even armies to further their causes if it comes to that. Does this sound familiar?
We can blame the West all we want but the liberation parties are African unfortunately. It’s either they are cowards, scared to die for their country or they enjoy this well documented 60 years old issue.
