It baffles how we are blinded by the simplicity of so many things the government is doing in other countries, that we overlook what is really going on in other countries. Make sense?
The notion that African leaders fail their citizens and themselves is what enables such exploitation. If leaders leave their people in poverty and hunger, others will inevitably take advantage of the situation. Why doesn't the Congolese government step up to regulate and control mining operations instead of pointing fingers at an app? It’s baffling how humanity operates sometimes-this entire situation seems to stem from the fact that Apple is a successful company.
Since the government is not stepping in, whether due to negligence, complicity, or incompetence wouldn't this be an action to support? All options should be used to attempt to get justice.
Be logical the government is suing the apple company because there are indirectly funding the rebels that are causing the instability, by stopping these companies from buying the minerals it will starve the rebels creating law and order in the country These companies are preventing the government from operating and creating stability
It’s a war zone funded by apples dirty money where will the government get the money to fund their defence 🫵🏾🫣. Apple n co are fundamentally funding their oppression of Congo
I think you're underestimating the complexity of the issue. Resolving a decade-long conflict in the DRC is not as simple as implementing government regulations. First, consider the military power required to address both foreign and internal militia groups-there are around 120 operating in the DRC, many backed by foreign interests. These groups terrorize communities and control mining sites through violence. For regulations on minerals to be effective, the root issue of militia control must be addressed. Imposing regulations on groups that have claimed these sites through bloodshed will not work without first dismantling their power. Unfortunately, bad leadership, poverty, and foreign ownership of mining sites, such as China's involvement, further complicate the situation. Expelling militias would require significant manpower and likely foreign intervention, as the DRC currently lacks the military capacity to manage this alone. Until these groups are dealt with, regulations cannot be enforced effectively. One potential approach is to target the demand side-suing companies like Apple and others that profit from conflict minerals. Reducing demand for these minerals would weaken the incentive for militias to control mining operations, potentially breaking their grip on these resources.

Consumerism has much blood on its hands. These companies have exploited in every way humanity and nature. 😢
This is a tragic situation from a humanitarian perspective. This is a much bigger problem than Apple. They have the largest financial resources and are internationally recognized. I don’t believe Apple is the primary problem. I see someone who is trying to find someone to sue.
Like he said suing Apple is not going to solve the problem, if they are successful with this law suit, where is the proceeds going, who is going to manage that. Robert sounds like a Lawyer that prey’s on taking advantage of these kind of situations, the question is what does he get out this.
Watching on iPad, have an iPhone how can consumers react?
These large corporations prioritize maximizing profits only for themselves, and sourcing materials through unofficial or unethical channels. This practice not only boosts their profits but also leaves the regions they exploit in a state of perpetual conflict, poverty, and environmental degradation, rendering them uninhabitable.
Why does congo allow illegal mining?
They should build more mines or regulate how mining is operating in congo...
Congo has enough energy to sue others , but not to correct the standards its citizens live under ...
I mean when stupid meets stupid..
@@nickj3287 my exact thoughts lol😂😂
My exact thought lol😂😂
Keep quiet if stupid
Keep quiet if stupid
Yup they just want some money from Apple so they can make money on both sides of the same coin
Rwanda is poor they don’t have minerals what is apple talking about 😂😂😂
Burundi, Tanzania, congo they have but Rwanda doesn't...at the same land...! Remember... Rwanda has called a land of thousand hills...!
Finally 😢😢😢😢
This Congo government is always on blaming and suing game but never do anything better for their population
I think this is a strong statement but they cannot win, simple. The reason, is imagine, they win, what will happen to all other European and American companies. If I was the president of Congo, I will seek diplomatic resolution comprising building factories in Congo.
@@GiZeeGis A woman is getting SA’d by multiple men, she tries to report the leader..the one who did the most damage. Then someone says hey that’s a strong accusation..what about the other guys that still want to get another turn..why can’t she find a way to allow everyone to get what they want.
You see how insane and inhumane you sound.
Let no any monopoly policies be used to support Apple's market hence they should be margins of resources that Apple should be responsible to found development projects in Congo and Reward for alleviating poverty and these created gaps.
The president of the DRC is always wearing Rolexes. Where does he get his money
His salary, is it a crime for someone with a top job in a country to live in luxury?
@@alfredphamotse1316 no I did research, a watch he had was 250,000 USD. His salary does not reach that kind of money
@@LAFwisdom That little money,
@@LAFwisdom how much do you think leaders of nations get as presents from ambassadors alone, mind you imagine they how birthday parties, Christmas partis and the list of parties goes on, as a way of diplomacy, gifts are presented to leaders by ambassador alone, merely giving you just a small part of benefits that come with being a leader, don't hate on black leaders, every leader across the world has a collection of valuable goods...
U so stupid he works and has advantages
Stop buying iPhones!
Africa my Africa, sadly this is the case around entire African countries. The West is a crazy organisation milking Africa dry!
Why did he Target The Christmas Market?Remember a Snake is a Snake No Matter how many skin it Sheds
They prioritize arms instead of people needs.
Apple has ignited the conflict by engaging suppliers in the Congo.
Long awaited intervention to address the atrocities meted on the people .
Sad thing is now the drc wont even be able sale to apple in the future
It will be difficult to prove that Apple is sourcing illegal minerals, as the Congolese journalist confirmed that those - or the majority of those - minerals are certified before reaching Rwanda and subsequently the international market. The DRC should focus on holding Kagame accountable to solve the issue at source if they genuinely seek justice. I see this as a money-grab lawsuit that will only benefit the lawyers and greedy government officials.
Briljant!!!
Paul Kagame is the biggest fish that must go to jail for the atrocities that are happening in DRC.
THIS IS THE REALITY WHY RWANDA (M23) IS FIGHTING TO THE EAST OF DRC. NOTHING ELSE.
The world is nothing without DRC
If you own any Apple devices like iPhones, iPads, MacBooks etc, or any other high end tech like Samsung, please use them for as long as you can before replacing or buying a new one. If you are looking to buy a new device, either look into buying a refurbished device or buy secondhand. Recycling and reusing technology needs to become the norm!! 🇨🇩🩵💛❤️
@@Seshruify my last purchase was in 2016 , I used until it was out of space. I then bought a refurbished one last year for £100+ 25 for replacing the speaker.
I won’t EVER buy their phones again.
Apple cannot achieve their goal in the DRC without the help of insiders. The African government keeps compromising the future of this continent
Thanks Congo democratic republic 🇨🇩
American companies don't care about Americans how much DRC conflict… 😅😅😅
